Kurt walked to the bridge that led him to the castle gardens, he looked around and noticed all the people around him wearing their very best, strolling through the gardens.

He felt so out of place, he wasn’t sure if he was going to be able to pull it off. He looked over the bridge and notices a cart being pulled out from the side of the castle, probably from the jail he thought. There were a lot of men inside it. Went the cart got closer he notice the thin frame of Mike hunched over on the side.

He ran over and stopped in front of the cart, there was a large man with no hair and almost no teeth pulling the cart

“STOP! I need you to release that man there, he is my servant, and I am here to pay the debt against him” Kurt said in his most forceful voice he could muster.

“Move out of the way sir, these slaves has been sold, and by the order of the king they are to be shipped immediately” the man continued, but Kurt stopped in front of him again.

“I have 10 gold francs, I can pay”

“No way can you get me for ten francs, I said move!”

Kurt was losing his confidence really fast, he had been so sure he was going to be able to get Mike back to Tina.

“Then I shall take this matter to the king!” he tried to sound threatening.

“The kings the one that sold him now move!”

Kurt’s plan maybe wasn’t a fool proof as he thought, he didn’t know what more he could do, but he knew that he couldn’t give up.

------------------------------------------

Blaine turned around as he heard a commotion by the side of the gardens, by the bridge.

He saw a slave cart being pulled by a large man arguing with another man.

“I said move you bloody arse!”

The low life man was crossing so many lines; he was disrespecting a man of society.

Blaine had seen enough.

“How dare you speak to a gentleman like that!”

The man looked up at the prince as his eyes widen and he fell to one knee. “Forgive me your highness I meant no disrespect” he dropped his gaze down to the ground.

Blaine looked over at the other man as he turned around.

Blaine felt the world coming to a stop, his breath caught in his throat.

In front of him stood the most beautiful, perfect creature he had ever seen.

The man was tall and lean, with broad shoulders and had on clothes that fit sinfully tight around his body. He had pale creamy skin that simply glowed in the sunlight. His hair was short and perfectly styled on top of his head. His features were soft yet sharp, his lips a perfect red.

But what Blaine was most mesmerized with was his eyes; they were a bright blue like the sky in a clear day.

Eyes that he believed he could get lost in for eternity.

Blaine was sure that the heavens had answered his prayers
and sent him an angel.

He woke up from his trance and looked down at the man that was on his knees.

“What seems to be the problem here?” he looked back to the beautiful angel, but he was averting his eyes.

“I was just trying to take these thieves to the coast, but this gentleman wasn’t letting me.”

“A servant is not a thief, your highness and those who are cannot help themselves”

Blaine raised an eyebrow in curiosity, as the man could get any more perfect, his voice was lovely, clear and confident.

“By all means enlighten us” he suggested for him to continued

He stepped forward a couple of steps addressing the prince “If you suffer your people to be ill-educated and their manners corrupted from infancy, then punish them for doing nothing but what they know, what else is to be concluded than you first make thieves and then punish them.” The man said it with so much conviction, that Blaine had to take a moment to collect himself.

There was now a crowd around them watching the spectacle. Many of them nodding approvingly at the man’s words.

“Well there you have it, release him”

The man looked back up at him “but sire, I have-“

“I said release him!” Blaine said forcefully.

“Yes your majesty” the man took out his keys and open the cart, the man climbed out and went over to the blue eye man, saying his thanks.

“Prepare the horses, we shall leave at once”. The dark haired man nodded and left toward the bridge.

Everyone else had left including the man in the kart.
The man looked at him a bowed “thank you my lord” he started to walk away but Blaine jumped of his horse and followed the angel that was trying to run from him.

“Excuse me, have we met before?”

The man looked over at him “no your majesty, I don’t believe we have”

He continued walking, Blaine keeping the same pace.

“I could have sworn I knew every family in the providence”

The man smiled a little “well I’m…visiting a cousin”

“Who”

“My cousin” the man said as he sped up his pace.

Blaine chuckled “yes you said that, which one.”

“The only one that I have, sire” he said with a shrug.

“Don’t be coy; are you really refusing me to tell me your name?” Blaine said in disbelief.

The man stopped suddenly “no…” he let out a frustrated breath “…yes”

Blaine looked at his eyes. In the bright blue, he could see specks of gold within them.

“Well care to tell me your cousin’s name, so I could ask them to tell me your name, as anyone who can quote Thomas more is worth the effort”

The man smiled, and it nearly knocked the breath out of Blaine. “You have read Utopia?”

He shrugged “I find it dull and sentimental, everyday
rustics bore me”

The man’s beautiful face fell a little “I guess you don’t converse with many peasants”

“Naturally” he laughed.

Obviously the man didn’t find it amusing, his face
scrunched up in a frown.

“Forgive me your sire, but there’s nothing natural about that. Your define by your countries ‘everyday rustics’, they are the legs in where you stand on, and that position demands respect, not-“

Blaine smiled a devilish smile at him “so you find me arrogant?”

The man looked down and smiled, before he started to walk again toward the bridge

“Please any name, I beg you”

He stopped again and looked up at him “Lord Michael Elizabeth Lancret”

Blaine found the name curios, in some ways it didn’t suit him, but at least now he had a name to call this perfect angel.

“That wasn’t too hard” he smiled.

“BLAINE!”

He looked over and saw his mother waving at him.

“Yes mother?”

“GOOD! Your back, when you get a moment, your father wishes to talk to you.”

“I’m sure he does…”

His mother smiled at him, he looked back to Michael, but the spot he was standing by was empty. He looked around but notices he was gone.

His perfect angel had vanished.

He didn’t know how he was to find him, but he was going to do everything to do so

---------------------------------

Blaine entered his father’s study. He knew that eventually he would have to face him. He promised himself that he would fight for his freedom; he was tired of his father trying to control him.

“Blaine your restricted to the grounds, I’ve had enough of this foolishness” the king was a tall man, well built, dark hair like Blaine’s, but cold lifeless gray eyes, so unlike Blaine’s own honey ones.

“and if I disobey, are you going to ship me off to the Americas like some poor criminal” Blaine sat down on one of the chairs with a loud huff, he knew he was being childish, but sometime that’s the only way he could get his father to respond.

“I will strip away your crown, you spoiled brat” his father was fuming, but he decided to stir the pot a bit more.

“Good, I don’t want it!”

“Why you ungrateful piece of-“

He was cut off as his mother entered the room.

“Calm down Henry, before you give yourself a stroke” his mother was elegant and beautiful, she had long light brown hair and hazel eyes like Blaine, they were warm and kind.

“Well I don’t know what to do with your son anymore”

The queen rolled her eyes “he’s your son too henry”

Blaine laughed humorlessly “I think we all know I stopped being his son a long time ago mother”

Blaine felt the tension rise in the room; his sexuality was always a sore subject for everyone in his family.

“I don’t care what kind of whore you decide to have in your bed, all I want if for you to marry Santana and seal the treaty with Spain”

Blaine had had it, he was not going to be used by his father “I don’t want to marry her; I don’t care about your ridiculous contract! I don’t care about the crown!”

The room was silent before his mother broke it “you were born to privilege Blaine, you have responsibilities, obligations…”

“But why must I marry her, I don’t want to walk around some loveless marriage, I want to find my own person, my own husband…“his thoughts going to bright blue eyes and creamy skin.

His father scoffed “a husband Blaine, the notion is ridiculous, you will have a wife and have children… not at all possible with another man”

Blaine shook his head “only because you’re close minded, you don’t understand, you think this is a phase, something that I woke up and decided on, it’s not father…”

“I just don’t understand why you can’t just marry Santana, I’m sure she’s-“

“I can’t marry he because I don’t know her, I don’t love her, I will never love her and she doesn’t have a dick!”

Blaine knew he had cross a line, but at the moment he didn’t really care.

The room was silent for what Blaine felt the longest time, his mother had turned a bright red and his father sat down a scowl on his face.

He prayed to the gods that his parent would finally understand.

That or his father would finally kill him.

“Fine”

Blaine looked up at his father in shock “what?”

“If love is what you seek, well so be it”

Blaine didn’t understand, the conversation was going somewhere he never thought it could.

“In a months’ time there shall be a ball, a mask ball, and in that ball you should name the person of your choice to marry, and if you don’t I should announce it for you”

Blaine swore his jaw dropped to the floor, he couldn’t believe this was happening “and what of your treaty with Spain”

His father shrugged “you let me worry about Spain, you worry about finding someone”

His mother walked over to him a small smile on her lips “chose wisely my dear boy, eternity is a long time”
Blaine looked between his mother and father; he needed to make sure he wasn’t dreaming that they were not lying.

“I don’t know what to say…”

His father looked at him intensely, his gray eyes boring into him “ I know you will make the right decision, I don’t doubt that Blaine, but think about it well, think what it will mean for the crown, for your family and for your kingdom, whatever path you chose, know that they will all be a struggle.”

Blaine nodded, he felt a rush of relief at his father’s words, he knew he was born different, and he knew he
would always have to fight to be the person he was.
“Thank you father, mother.”

He gave them both a grateful smile, before he walked out of the room.

-----------------------------------------

“Somebody’s in trouble” Sebastian said in a singsong voice.

Kurt looked at his stepbrother confused while he put the tray filled with treats and tea.

“What do you mean?” right after he put the tray down, he was being shoved into the nearest wall.

“How dare you do what you did to Sebastian?” the baroness yelled at Kurt.

He was confuse and scared “I don’t know what you’re talking about…”

“You didn’t tell us, and left us blindsided!”

Kurt was now really confused, he looked over to Nick who had stopped reading his book when the whole scene started to unfold. Nick lifted his hands and made a motion with his hands that looked like he was trying to say ‘horse’ but stopped when Sebastian sent him a glare.

Realization hit Kurt, they were angry because he failed to tell the baroness about the prince.

“Prince Blaine stole our horse this morning?” he said it like the question; he still wasn’t sure why the baroness was all worked up.

“Yes! And that explains why he returned it this afternoon!” she still had a hard grip on his shoulders and he could feel the corner of a frame pushing against his shoulder painfully, but he didn’t dare move.

“I still don’t understand-“

She finally let him go as she walked over to Sebastian.

“really Kurt, how can you be so unfair to Sebastian, we had no time to prepare for his arrival” the baroness smirked “but no matter, Sebastian and the prince had quite the interlude.”

Sebastian smiled smugly at Kurt “Yes, the prince could barely keep his eyes of me”

Nick rolled his eyes at Sebastian; he picked up his book and walked out of the room.

Kurt didn’t know what that was about, but then again who could be in the same room with Sebastian for long periods of time.

But Kurt did feel a bit of anger boiling inside of him when he talked about the prince.

All afternoon, he couldn’t stop thinking about the man.
He was a few inches shorter than him and had dark curly hair, smooth tan skin, broad and muscular shoulders. He was one of the most gorgeous men he had ever seen.

But he was most captivated by his warm and piercing golden eyes.

He had been a bit surprised when the prince came over to the cart and helped him with getting Mike back. Sure he was arrogant and a bit cocky, but he could tell that he had a warm heart and good intentions.

Kurt was absolutely giddy when the prince had been so persistent in learning his name.

But then he remembered who he was, just a servant.
It was common knowledge that the prince preferred the company of men, but why would the prince want him, when there were so many men of society he could choose from.

He knew he shouldn’t have given his mother’s name, but he had no choice, if he would have given him his real name he would have been caught of just being a servant.

The prince had already spared his life; he didn’t think the king would be a lenient.

It didn’t matter anyways, he would never see him again anyways, but a boy could dream.

All that mattered was that he had gotten Mike back, and now his small family was complete.

“Are you putting attention, or must I knock you back into reality!” the baroness shrill voice brought him back from his daydream.

“I-I, sorry…what?” Kurt didn’t catch anything she was saying.

Sebastian snickered in his chair at Kurt “thinking about pigs and farm boys are you there, gay face”

Before Kurt had the chance to retort the baroness spoke again.

“I said I had added to your chores as punishment, now go, we must have this place spotless, we don’t want the prince to be sitting on dirty chairs” she waved her hand in dismissal.

Kurt shook his head in disbelief and headed toward the kitchen.

He was sick of the baroness punishing him for no reason. But he who was he to fight it, the chores needed to be done, and he was the only one to do them.

But while Kurt cleaned throughout the afternoon and evening his mind was filled with dark curls and golden eyes.
