Monday night was spent celebrating in the dorms of Dalton. There was no way Blaine could have escaped to go and look for Kurt in his world, even if it was all he wanted. But he felt Tuesday is going to be his lucky day with him. And he was right. After school he went home and into his room to sit down beside his bed and visit his own world.
Kurt was already there waiting for him sitting in the swing set. Blaine walked up to swing to give it a push. He kept pushing him and none of them made a sound. After a few minutes Blaine started.
“I think I’m kind of mad at you, but I can truly see your point.”
“I’m so sorry about what I’ve said. I didn’t mean that, and I know I don’t even know you to have an opinion at all.” Kurt said and started to slow the swing down.
“And do you want to? I mean get to know me?” Asked Blaine while moving to face Kurt.
Kurt looked up and stared into his eyes. Blaine had beautiful hazel eyes filled with amusement. He didn’t know that the cause of Blaine’s amusement was the color of his own eyes. They got lost in each other’s gaze.
“I do.” Kurt whispered as he wasn’t sure in his own voice at the moment. They kept looking into each other’s eyes and then a wide smile appeared on Blaine’s face. Kurt smiled back at him and was surprised by a tight hug he was given. He melted in the other boy’s arms for a moment and they parted.
“Come with me, I wanna show you something.” Blaine took his hand and they started to run wherever Blaine was leading him. When Kurt was out of breath and started to think they will never stop, but did not slow because he didn’t want Blaine to think he was weak or something, they finally stopped. It took a few moments for Kurt to gain back his breath but when he finally looked up he was fascinated.
They were now in a delightful Japanese garden. The warm wind was blowing light pink petals off of the trees making them falling and feathering everywhere. In the middle area a set of boulders gave place to a small cascade. The water was pouring into a small pond glittered with goldfish. The view was breathtaking.
Blaine led Kurt to the pond and pulled him down to sit beside him in the smooth white sand beneath them, never letting go of his hand. For a few more moments they sat in silence as Kurt tried to take in the sight.
“Blaine, this is… wow. Amazing!” He whispered still gazing around. “Now I know… I… wow!” He looked Blaine in the eye and stared deeply in his hazel crystals. He felt the strange twitch rushing trough his body again and closed his eyes just so he can open them slowly and make sure Blaine was still there.
“Are you okay? I wanted to show you something.” He dig his hand in his pocked. “I found this the other day… Oh I haven’t told you about this. Here starts the getting to know me part. So you’ve heard about Dalton, but I don’t know if you know anything about the Warblers. The show choir of the school. I am a part of it as I have a little thing for music and singing and stuff. Anyways, we had a competition yesterday and we won, and when I called my mom to let her know, I found this.” He opened his hand to show Kurt the penguin he had found. Kurt’s eyes became wide and he was speechless again.
“I know, I know it’s a toy, but when I saw it, it instantly reminded me of you. You think I’m crazy right? A stalker? A crazy stalker. I’m sorry is this too much? I just didn’t…”
“You found it! I couldn’t… it’s yours!” Said Kurt with a low voice, which could have been mistaken for any other male voices, which is odd for him.
“Oh, you can have it if you like it. I mean I like it but if you want it you can have it.” He offered.
“No, no, I, no. Yours.” It was all he could say. He didn’t know whether to tell Blaine that he is the actual stalker or not. He took a long deep breath and closed Blaine’s hand around the toy and held it. “Blaine, you are amazing, and right now there is nothing in this world, well… or any other worlds I’d want more than to get to know you and every little thing about you.” He said with a shy smile and his eyes shining from unshed tears.
Blaine was a little taken aback by Kurt’s reaction, but he was smiling back at him with glimmering eyes. “To get to know you.” He said excitedly and hugged Kurt tight. When they parted they moved to be seated face to face, still holding hands.
“So you mentioned the Warblers. Congratulations for winning by the way. I’ve heard about them. They have this unhealthy thing for sidesteps, but they are truly amazing.” Kurt started, but regretted his words instantly. He felt relief when Blaine giggled and started to speak.
“Well, yeah, that is too boy-school even for me, but people like it so… How come you know them? Have you seen us perform before? Have you seen me?”
“Maybe. I am a member of our glee club, the New Directions. We participated in regionals last year, but were beaten by Vocal Adrenalin, who won the nationals.” He explained trying not to tell Blaine he dragged the whole club with him just so he can see Blaine in real life. “Our sectionals is next Monday.” He added hoping Blaine would want to go and watch him perform, too.
“Next Monday?” Blaine repeated looking away seemingly thinking hard, and than his features dropped. “I can’t go and watch you perform, I’m gonna be out of town. I need to go visit my grandparents.” He said looking back into Kurt’s eyes with pure guilt in his own ones.
“Oh, that’s okay.” Kurt said trying to hide his disappointment “I didn’t expect you to come.”
“But I really do want to.” Blaine assured him by squeezing his hands. “You should sing to me. I mean, would you?”
“Umm… well, not right now, if you don’t mind. But later.” He said not wanting to expose himself this much this soon. And after hearing Blaine perform, he had to admit he was a bit insecure about his voice, which was perfect, except not as masculine as Blaine’s. Not masculine at all, in fact.
“Oh I can’t wait.” Blaine grinned excitedly. “I want to sing a song for you. Not now, of course, I want it to be perfect. But I will, and it will be perfect.” He stated.
“I see you only go for perfection.” Kurt joked.
“That is not a bad thing.” Blaine smiled at him. “Maybe this is the reason I feel kind of bonded to you.” He searched Kurt’s eyes for any sign of him going too far, but Kurt just blushed and so did Blaine.
Blaine moved so he could rest his head on Kurt’s shoulder, and Kurt put his head on Blaine’s. They sat there for like hours just listening to the sounds of the magically beautiful garden. They closed their eyes still holding hands, and they both drifted off to sleep.
Back in the real world Kurt was sound asleep in his bed on top of the sheets. When his father came to say him goodnight, he covered him and kissed his forehead. He noticed the smile on his son’s face and how calm his sleep was, compared to the fact that he often suffered of sleepwalking and had nightmares almost daily. That night Burt Hummel left Kurt’s room with a smile and the feeling that something is about to change in his son’s life or already has, in a good direction.
Mr. Anderson entered his son’s bedroom that night to tell him some good news, but he found Blaine sitting on the floor with his back and head to the bed, asleep. He instantly noticed the smile on his face. Blaine was always happy and was smiling most of the times but this was something different. A girl. He assumed happily. That is when he noticed the small toy in his son’s hand. He took it and inspected it. This is cute, must be a gift from her.
“Blaine dear,” He whispered ”come on let’s get you to bed.” He helped him to climb under the sheets and whispered good night.
“Good night dad.” Blaine yawned still half asleep. When his father left, he reached out for the penguin which was placed on the nightstand by his father. Took it into his hand and fell back asleep smiling again. His father was right, Blaine was in love.
Comments
This chapter was so much fun to read. I love that they were able to talk and that they both were so happy to get to know each other better. I can't wait to see what happens next.
