At Dalton the Warblers are superstars, they are also superstars at the local daycare for elderly but elsewhere not so much. A capella group with only prepboys in it is a little strange for people’s taste. This is the reason why all the members were extremely nervous all Monday. They asked the teachers’ permission to skip classes so they can have last minute practices and spent their morning in the choir room.

Blaine who had to borrow someone else’s tie because he left his own at home, was sitting on a couch and tried not to think about Kurt. The boy who Blaine wasn’t even sure is real affected his life so much that he couldn’t think about anything else. He was afraid of messing up their numbers because his lack of concentration. He knew the Warblers were to be celebrated even if they lose but he wanted to win so much. Last year they lost to a deaf choir. They were touching and everything, but come on!

“Okay guys the bus is here! Let’s go!” A guy announced, and everyone started to take their ways to the bus. From that minute the time started to run so fast the next thing Blaine remembered was standing on the stage and singing.

“Okay guys the bus is here! Let’s go!” said Mr. Schuester and the New Directions approached the bus to head to Westerville.

“Members listed up!” Rachel started “It’s really important to completely blind in. Noone can notice as being there.”

“Than maybe we should park a few blocks away so they won’t see the huge yellow bus in front of the building.” Santana offered sarcastically.

“Not a bad idea!” she said and ignoring the laughing she stood up to go and talk to the driver.

“Rachel sit down.” Mr.Schue said so she did as she was told. “We are not spies. This is normal to go and see other competitions and not just attend ours. And don’t you, none of you, dare to act hostile!” And with that he made Rachel stay quiet for 6 whole minutes.

Kurt was chatting with Mercedes during the entire trip.

“You seem so happy anyways. What happened?” She asked smiling hoping for a good gossip.

“Nothing I’m just happy about this trip. It’s gonna be fun, that’s all.” He said

“What is that thing you are gripping so hard?” She asked gesturing towards his hands in his lap.

“Just aaaaaa toy I found.” He said showing a small plastic penguin with a tiny bowtie wrapped by him around it’s neck.

“Oh that’s so cute!” She said and turned to answer a question she was asked by Tina sitting behind them.

Kurt just looked at the penguin and smiled. He wanted to give something to Blaine but didn’t know what he’d like. Last time they saw each other Blaine said the penguin Kurt was petting was cute, so at least it is going to remind him of Kurt even if he is not into penguins.

When they arrived they took their seats in the middle of the audience even though Rachel claimed they should sit in the back of the auditorium.

When the lights went off the deaf choir they beat last year started their performance. They watched them silently and Rachel was scribbling notes eagerly.

“And now let’s have a warm welcome for the Dalton Academy Warblers!” the host said and Kurt stirred in his seat.

The curtain rolled and the Warblers standing on the stage with Blaine in the middle started humming. Blaine took a few steps forward and started singing.

Like rain that comes after the drought
It’s beyond any doubt
She came into my life like a warm wind
She whispered…

“This can’t be happening.” Rachel said. Everyone sat there with their jaws dropped, even Kurt but he had other reasons to.

“He is amazing.” He said and felt Rachel’s fist in his shoulders. “Ouww!”

“He is not amazing! I don’t care what Mr. Schue says he is enemy, they are enemy.”

…I hunger for your tenderness
Give me a sweet caress oh how I want more
Goodbye aching heart
It beats for you, you don’t know how it really feels
Ooo bittersweet you and me
No guarantees…

“Who the hell he thinks he is? Prince charming or what?” Santana snapped

“Blaine” Kurt said with a dreamy tone.

“What?! You know him?” Rachel asked a little bit too loudly.

“What? No! How would I? I just heard someone calling him when we came in.” He said and gave himself a little Oscar for being kind of believable.

No I won't pretend I don't pretend
Your face is always there
Every night I close my eyes
You ripped my heart in two
I promised the world and you said it will be true
I cannot believe I wasn't man enough for you…

“Man you did it! I told you not to worry! I told you we’re gonna win this!” A Warbler said jumping onto Blaine’s back. They won and now they are going to regionals. They were laughing and shouting and hugging each other on the hallway backstage.

Blaine called his parents to let them know about the good news. He was on a quite quiet part of the hallway talking on his phone when something cracked under his foot. He bent down to pick it up and when he realized what he was holding he lost his words.

“Blaine honey are you still there?” Came his mother’s voice from the phone.

“Yea, Mom, I need to go. See you at home. Bye!” He hung up and was looking at the plastic penguin in his hands. It was wearing a bowtie and Blaine had never seen anything this cute. He had a strange feeling, he only felt once before this way. The day he met Kurt for the first time in his dream world.

“Impossible.” He said

“What is impossible?” His friend asked who just came up to him.

“Nothing I was just thinking, let’s go and celebrate!” He said and shoved the plastic animal into his pocket.

When the winner was announced none of the members of the New Directions was surprised. The Warblers’ performance was truly awesome. Everyone cheered honestly except for Rachel who tried to calm the others and tell them this is everything but good for them.

After the show they had to go back to the bus. Kurt was looking for the right moment to escape for a few minutes and find Blaine. He excused himself to go to the restroom, but of course he went backstage. He couldn’t find anyone wearing a Dalton uniform, let alone Blaine. He even got lost on the hallways that had a lot of turns for a backstage corridor. He started to think he walked into another building when he heard Rachel calling his name. He jumped and dropped the baby penguin he was squeezing between his fingers.

“What are you doing? We have to go.” She said when she reached him. He wanted to pick up the toy but couldn’t see it, and Rachel started to drag him out of the building. He protested but could do nothing against Rachel and her strict and angry self.

He sat in the back of the bus with Finn but he didn’t say a word during the trip back home. Blaine was amazing and charming and even more handsome in real life. And his voice… But Kurt was disappointed about the trip. He wanted to talk to Blaine and apologize and give him the penguin. He even lost the toy so he can’t give it to him next time, if there is going to be a next time at all. Then he realized there is going to be a next time. Because the Warblers are attending the regionals just as the New Directions are expected to do.

I think this has been my favorite chapter so far. I find mysef wanting to yell at Rachel for interrupting Kurt chance of meeting Blaine. Although Rachel kept them from meeting, I am glad that Blaine found the penguin. I can't wait to see what happens next.
