Author's Notes: Please as always review. I really love hearing your thoughts.I will confess that I had no idea where they were headed for their date or why until I actually had them standing in front of the building and then it all came rushing to me.This is the only chapter that I wrote over the weekend. I kind of got caught up reading 'Struck By Lightning' by our boy Chris Colfer. Highly recommend the book and the movie.I will try to have another chapter up by the end of the week but if it doesnt happen please dont shoot me.

"So where exactly are we going?"

"I told you. I want it to be a surprise. No questions, Hummel." Blaine gave his date a mischievous grin.

"Do I get any hints?"

"Nope."

"Well, I am at least dressed appropriately?"

Blaine stopped in his tracks and turned toward Kurt. He took Kurt's hands in his own and looked right into his deep blue eyes. "You look beautiful." Blaine turned to start walking again. Blush filled the taller boy's face as they both headed down the street to the mystery location. "But yes, you are dressed fine. I just hope that those are comfortable shoes that you are wearing because it is quite the walk."

They weren't. "They're fine. So if I'm not allowed to ask about this secret location you are taking me to, can I at least ask you other questions?" Kurt asked out of frustration.

"Depends on the question."

"Ok, any brothers or sisters?"

"Yeah, I have one brother, Cooper. He lives out in LA. He's a divorce attorney to the stars, and he's damn good at it too. When we were younger he would always get what he wanted. Now that he's a lawyer that has changed." Blaine laughed at the thought of his brother.

"Wait. Your brother is Cooper Anderson?!"

"That would be him. Obviously you have heard of him."

"Well anybody that reads People Magazine has heard of your brother. He's a celebrity in his own right." Blaine laughed knowing that this was true. Coop was probably in the headlines just as much as his clients were. Whether it was because he had another girl on his arm (he had a habit of dating the newly divorced and vulnerable), or he was speaking his mind to the press, he was constant a presence in the tabloids. "Are you guys close?"

"Um...I guess. As close as we can be. Coop was never the ideal big brother growing up. He's 10 years older than me and has always used that against me. He was the prodigal son in my parents' eyes. He went into law just like my father, and even worked with him for a while. When I was in high school he decided that he wanted to move to LA and immediately gained notoriety winning case after case. Made my parents extremely proud. After that they were always on my back about quitting the arts and focusing on something that would get me a real career. They would always say things like 'why can't you be more like your brother?' 'Don't you want to be successful like your brother?'" Kurt looked toward Blaine who had his hands tied into tight balled up fists. His eyes that were usually a pleasant amber color had turned to what Kurt could only describe as crimson. Kurt wanted to comfort him but didn't know how. He put his hand on the Blaine's back for reassurance. He could feel Blaine instantly relaxing. "Anyway, somewhere around my senior year of high school Coop came back and we hashed things out between us. He is actually really supportive of me being gay and my wannabe art career. He has actually tried to talk to my parents about it but they wouldn't hear any of it. He calls me at least once a week now." Blaine seemed to be in a much better mood. "What about you, any brothers or sisters?"

"No, I mean not really. Well, none that are biological anyways. I have a stepbrother. His name is Finn. Him and Rachel have actually dated before. They're on, they're off. I can't keep up."

Blaine winced, "Ouch, sounds like a bad situation."

"Yeah, it can be. I never know what side of the argument to take. On one hand I want to take Rachel's side since she has been by my side through everything since high school."

"But..." Blaine waited for more.

"But...on the other hand, Finn is the greatest brother I could have ever asked for. If anyone tried to hurt me in any way, he would probably try to kill them, so be warned." Kurt turned and playfully pointed his finger at Blaine.

Blaine's arms shot instinctively up in the air. "Sounds viscous."

"Well, when I broke up with Cam I practically had to tell my dad to strap him to a chair to keep from coming here and killing the bastard." Kurt winched as he realized what he had just said. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to..."

Blaine chuckled, "It's ok. You were just telling a story. You didn't mean to bring it up."

Kurt looked relieved. "Thank you."

There was silence for a few seconds. "So you heard all about my family drama. I think it's only fair that I hear yours. I know that your dad and step mom are very supportive of you being gay but it sounds like your parents are divorced. What happened? You never talk about you mom in any of your videos." Kurt's eyes darted to the ground and he furrowed his brow. Blaine saw this and immediately started backpedaling. "Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't know...I mean you don't have to tell me. I didn't mean to intrude."

"No, you're right it's only fair. Um...my parents aren't divorced. My mom died when I was eight."

"Oh my god Kurt. I am so sorry. You didn't have to tell me and I pushed you and.... Now I just feel like an asshole."

Kurt giggled. "It's ok. It was a long time ago and yeah, I miss her, but Carole is great. She is exactly what me and my dad needed."

"They sound great. I can't wait to meet them." As soon as it had come out, Blaine regretted the words. Why did he always do that? Did he have no filter? "I mean...I didn't mean to be so forward. I just..."

Kurt was trying to hide the fact that he was ready to bust out laughing. "It's ok. I know what you meant." Kurt stopped laughing and went completely sober as he stopped in his tracks.

Blaine noticed and turned back. "What?"

"I was just thinking...is it weird that I actually can't wait for you to meet them either?"

Blaine blushed, "Not at all." They stood there, facing each other neither one moving. Blaine was first to break the silence. "Come on. Not to rush you but there is a time constraint on this date."

"So, back to the questions then. If this is too personal please tell me. I don't want to intrude."

"O...K..."

"You said your brother was fine with the fact that you were gay. Does that mean that your parents weren't?"

Blaine took a second to reflect on the question. "I think they were more ok with that then they were with my art. When I came out I was fourteen. It was the scariest thing I had ever done. I remember I told them right before dinner and my mom said 'Ok, is your homework finished?' When I asked her if she had heard what I said she said 'yeah'. I thought nothing of it so later that year I had brought a boy home for the first time, and after he had left, my mother told me that she and my father were ok with the fact that I was gay, they just didn't ever want to meet any of the boys that I went out with. I guess that was kind of the beginning of the end for me. They took it better than I expected them to though. I always half figured that they would disown me and throw me out once I had told them. Who knew that they would disown me for a whole different reason." Blaine gave an uncomfortable laugh, one that Kurt had never heard from Blaine before. He was usually so very sure of himself. This was the first time that Kurt could see the vulnerable side of the short man.

"They disowned you?"

"Well...not exactly. I disowned myself I guess. I told them that I was moving out to New York to pursue photography. I gave them an address and they have my cell number that they could reach me on. It's been almost three months. Nothing."

"I'm sorry."

"Well, I'm not. This is what I want. It's time that I go after it."

"Don't you miss them though?"

"Do I miss the love that I never got from them? Yes. Do I miss the mother who was always trying to analyze me like one of her patients and the distant father that pushed me into a career that I never wanted? Absolutely not."

Kurt looked at him with pity in his eyes. Not so much for the situation that Blaine was currently in, alone and in a strange city with no one to turn to, but more because he was sad that Blaine had clearly never gotten the love that he himself had as a child.

Kurt had grown up in a house where his mother encouraged self-expression. Did it matter that he was the only boy in his dance class? Never. Did his dad ever complain when he was singing yet another Celine Dion song? Absolutely not. He decided to change the subject. "Are we almost there?"

Blaine laughed. "Someone's impatient."

"More like anxious...and my feet are killing me from the walk. Remind me again why we walked?"

"Well, we walked because it is a gorgeous night in New York City and yes, we are almost there, just a few more blocks to go, and I can carry you if your feet are that tired."

"You can't carry me that far."

"What are you suggesting Mr. Hummel." Blaine stopped dead in his tracks to look up into Kurt's eyes with a wicked grin on his face and his hands on his hips.

Kurt played along and looked right down into Blaine's eyes. "I am merely suggesting, Anderson, that you are as short as a hobbit and I am a tall, strong, strapping young man."

Blaine gave him a mischievous grin and scooped him up to throw him on his back. Kurt gasped and giggled in protest. Blaine spoke once he had Kurt squared up on his back. "I may have the stature of a hobbit, but I am as strong as an ox. In high school I started a fight club. I was pretty good. I got pretty strong because of it. It is a great stress reliever. You should try it sometime."

Kurt laughed as he proceeded to cling tighter to Blaine. "As fun and barbaric as that sounds..." The two of them laughed, "...I think I would just rather watch you instead." Blaine looked to the ground. The things that this boy could do to him in such a short period of time was astonishing to Blaine.

"Well, we're here." Blaine walked up to the brightly lit building in the middle of Rockefeller Center and set Kurt back on the ground. Just as Blaine was going to slip his hand away he felt a big, strong grip tighten around his own hand.

"Radio City Music Hall?" Kurt looked at Blaine with utter confusion.

Blaine went to clarify when there was a voice from behind them. "Hey dude. Are you ready?"

"Yep. Kurt this is my roommate, Wes, Wes this is Kurt." The two men exchanged a handshake. Blaine then turned his attention back to his date grabbing his hand. "Are you ready?" Blaine asked.

"For what?" Kurt was still very much confused as to what was going on.

Blaine gave him a playful grin then turned back to Wes. "Thanks man. I'll lock up and see you at home later." Wes gave him one last smile and walked away.

Blaine then turned his attention back to Kurt. "Are you going to tell me what's going on?"

"Wes is a record producer so he has a lot of connections in the music industry."

"And..." Kurt searched for more information.

"And...come on." Blaine pulled Kurt into the building. Once they were through the front doors and standing in the considerably large hall, he took his and Kurt's jacket and flung it over a nearby seat. Blaine then proceeded to grab Kurt's hand again and led him onto the enormous stage.

"So, are you going to tell me why we are here now?" Kurt said brightly as he looked around what was easily the greatest stage that he had ever seen. He noticed the small seven-piece band on stage.

"Don't you like it?" Blaine asked unsure of the decision to take Kurt here. "Maybe this was the wrong choice for a first date."

"Like it? I love it." Blaine relaxed that the words. "I just don't get why."

Blaine led Kurt up the steps and dragged him to center stage. "About six months ago or so. You made a video were you said that you had come here to see Patti LuPone in a one night only spectacular."

"I remember."

"You also said it was probably the single greatest experience of your entire life."

"I did say that." Kurt was beginning to blush, hinting at where this was going.

"You said that one day you would play in Radio City Music Hall to thousands of screaming fans. Well, I know there aren't thousands of screaming people around but there is one fan here that is willing to sit and watch. One day you will have those screaming fans but for now you practice so one day when Radio City is banging down your door begging you for a one night spectacular, you will be ready." Blaine became somber and took both of Kurt's hands. "You are destined for greatness, Kurt, and I don't care if I am the only one that notices right now because soon enough the whole world will know just how great and amazing Kurt Hummel is."

Kurt had tears threatening in his eyes to betray him. "You remembered that?" Kurt moved in closer to Blaine.

"Yeah." Blaine was starting to get nervous with the closeness of the taller man.

"You remembered that I said Radio City was a dream of mine?"

"Yeah." Blaine blushed as Kurt liberated his hands from Blaine's grip and traded it in for a firm grip on Blaine's hips in which Blaine slowly reciprocated not wanting to read the situation wrong.

"I said that months ago, and you still remembered?" Not even waiting for a response this time Kurt moved in even closer. Their lips were now only about an inch apart.

"I remember all of your dreams that you have ever said on your channel." Blaine replayed the words back in his head. "Ok, that sounded like I'm a stalker and I'm not. I promise. I just meant that my dream was obviously important enough for you to care about so why shouldn't I care about yours just as much. You helped me realize my dreams so the least I could do to thank you was to help you realize just a small portion of yours."

Kurt's tears were now streaming down from his eyes in a neat line running down his cheek. "That is the most romantic thing someone has ever done or said to me...ever." Blaine picked up his hand to wipe away at his date's tears before replacing his hands on Kurt's hips. "Are you going to kiss me now or what?"

Blaine's heart quickened, hid breath hitched in his throat, and blush filled his face but he didn't dare turn away from Kurt who was now nuzzled into his body. "I didn't know if you wanted me to..."

"Blaine kiss me now...before you ruin the moment with your..." just like that their lips were crashing together. Moving in a synchronized rhythm that seemed to come so easily. Blaine moved his one hand into Kurt's hair to try to deepen the kiss right before he parted his own lips and slide his tongue on Kurt's top lip asking, no begging, to be granted access. Kurt parted his own lips and Blaine so effortlessly slide his tongue into Kurt's awaiting mouth.

They stood their up on the stage for a few minutes just exploring each other's mouth. Blaine was the first to part from the intense kiss, and he could swear he heard Kurt groan in disappointment. "I have been wanting to kiss you since the moment I saw you walk into Amore e Cibo dressed like this." Kurt blushed as Blaine continued to hold him tight against his own body. Kurt dropped him forehead against the short man's. "You should sing something. I only paid for the band until 10:15 and it is already..." Blaine looked at his watch, "10:00...but only if you want to though. I don't want to push you to do anything you don..." Kurt planted a quick kiss onto the well-dressed man's lips.

"You are adorable when you ramble." Blaine gave a small, embarrassed grin, which made Kurt laugh. "Go sit down Anderson and prepare to be amazed." Once Blaine was comfortably seated in the second row, aisle seat, Kurt walked over to the band and they agreed on a song. Kurt found the spotlight once more and started the performance of the most beautiful rendition on "Bring Him Home" Blaine had ever heard. Blaine watched the entire performance with wide eyes and eagerness. He couldn't believe that he was sitting here listening to a Kurt Hummel performance...live! Blaine looked on as Kurt was in his complete element up on the stage moving and working the empty crowd.

As Kurt drew to a close Blaine jumped to his feet and clapped and hollered like a fool. "Woohoo. Yeah. That was great Kurt." Kurt took a generous bow. "Encore, encore, encore..." Blaine chanted.

Kurt rolled his eyes but decided to play along, "Fine, I will do one more, but only because you have been a fantastic audience. Anything in particular you would like to hear tonight? How about you sir?" Blaine jokingly pointed at himself and then looked around at the empty crowd of people as he bounced up and down hoping that the great Kurt Hummel was actually talking to him. "Yes, you. The dork bouncing up and down in the gorgeous suit and black bowtie but is driving me insane right now with how crazy romantic he is." Kurt said in a joking tone. "What would you like to hear?"

"How about "Defying Gravity?" It took my breath away when you sang it." Kurt flipped around to make sure that was ok with the band. Once he was given the go ahead he once again found the single spotlight at center stage. Once again, Blaine watched, as Kurt got completely lost in his own performance. It was clear how much this meant to Kurt and how much he real did want this for his life.

When Kurt was finished with the song, once again Blaine gave a standing ovation. Kurt was grinning from ear to ear as Blaine made his way onto the stage. "So..." Blaine inquired.

"Best first date ever." Kurt grabbed each of Blaine's hands in his own and intertwined their fingers together. He laid a single soft kiss on Blaine's lips. "Thank you. You literally don't know what this means to me."

"Good," Blaine said clearly proud of himself, "I'm glad." Blaine let go of one of Kurt's hands. "Come on. The date isn't over yet." Blaine turned around and thanked the band and the duo went down the stairs, helped each other into their jackets and was out the door in a mere couple of seconds.

Kurt grabbed a hold of Blaine's hand. "Now, where are we going? Or am I not privy to that information either?" Kurt said teasingly.

"Nope. This next part of the date is all you. I have never been to Central Park." Kurt's eyes grew wide and his mouth hung open. Blaine snickered at the sight of his date. "You always talk about how it is one of your favorite places to go, so I figured you could show me around."

"I'm sorry. You lost me at never been. How have you never been to Central Park? I thought every New Yorker, even on their first day here, had been to Central Park."

"Well, I've just been busy I guess. Never really had time. Between working and school, time never really allowed it."

"Oh my gosh. You have no idea what you are missing out on." Blaine laughed at Kurt's apparently outrage. "So, can we continue the twenty questions? I learned so much about you. I promise we can keep it light this time."

Blaine looked at Kurt with a crooked grin. "Ok, shoot."

"Favorite color?"

"Um...purple I guess. That one's hard it changes everyday."

"Thought I started off pretty easy but ok." They both laughed.

"What is your favorite color?" Blaine bounced back.

"Mmm...blue. Matches my eyes."

"Mmhmm. And what a beautiful color blue can be." Blaine gathered Kurt into his arms and gave him a short but very tender kiss.

"Ok, how about favorite movie?"

"Umm, I thought we were going with the easy questions from now on." Blaine walked hand in hand with Kurt for a while before responding. "It's probably a tie between Little Mermaid..."

"I knew it. I knew you were a Disney nerd."

Blaine laughed, "...and Moulin Rouge."

"No way! I love Moulin Rouge. It is the only way that Rachel can ever get me to come out of my room when I am having a bad hair day."

It was Blaine's turn to ask a question first. "Are you a cat or a dog person?"

"Well I use to think that I was a cat person, you know the whole diva attitude and everything, but I think I am starting to warm up to the idea of puppies."

"Are you referring to me?" Blaine asked knowingly. "Everyone says that about me. I don't see it. I do not look like a puppy!"

Kurt laughed at the pouting Blaine next to him who ironically enough looked exactly like a puppy in that exact moment. "Ok, you're not a puppy. How about you? Dogs or cats?"

"Dogs for sure. I want a pet that I could run around the park with and will play fetch with me. Ok, if you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be?"

"Hmm...probably France."

"Have you ever been?"

"No, but I was pretty good at French in high school. I would like to go someday."

"You will. France is beautiful, you would love it."

"You've been there?!"

"Of course I have. My parents always sent my brother and me away for two weeks during the summer to someplace in Europe. France was always one of my favorites. I really want to go back to Italy though. I haven't been since I was 10 or so and it was by far the most beautiful country I had ever seen. And the food was to die for."

Just as they were about to enter Central Park, Blaine saw a coffee vendor he quickly ordered two and they continued their stroll still hand in hand and now caffeine filled. They continued to ask trivial questions and deep questions and exchanging very personal information. They shared their hopes and fears. They talked about the fact that they had never met even though they were both in show choir and lived less than an hour away from each other.

"Oh my god." Kurt looked at his watch. "It's almost 1am." Kurt looked at Blaine.

"Here we can hail a cab and we will get you home."

They walked toward a busy street and hailed the first cab that they saw. Blaine opened up the door to allow Kurt to climb into the back seat first.

Once they were in, Blaine was wringing his hands in his lap. Kurt looked over at him for a minute before grabbing his hands to still them. "Blaine...what's the matter?"

"It's just that...where is this going, Kurt? I mean...I'm scared."

"Can I confess something to you?" Kurt couldn't look directly at Blaine as he said this next part in fear of being rejected.

"Of course. You can tell me anything." Blaine leaned forward capturing both of Kurt's hands in his own.

"I'm scared too. My heart hasn't stopped racing all day...since I woke up this morning in fact. The shear anticipation of seeing you and being with you gives me butterflies. When I am around you it's just..." Kurt trailed off. He finally looked up into Blaine's eyes, which were now a soft comforting honey color. "I feel like...like you know me better than anyone has ever known me and that scares me. It scares me that I met you for what? A month or so and it is just so easy with you. It's easy to talk to you and it's easy to be with you and that all scares me. I'm scared mostly because of how easy it is to fall for you. I know I said I want to go slow, and I still do but you are making it way to easy to trust you, which is something that I don't do easily with anybody."

Before Blaine could say anything they pulled up to Kurt's apartment. Both Kurt and Blaine climbed out of the cab and Blaine gave the cabbie his money before he drove away. Blaine grabbed Kurt around the hips and pulled him close into his body. He placed a gentle hand onto the soft smooth skin of the taller man before running his hand through his coiffed hair and then returning to Kurt's cheeks where he leaned into the touch, "Never be sorry for such a crazy thing as feelings. Everything you said in that cab...it's true for me too. But like you said I feel like I am falling for you and I think that's what scares me. I have never felt this close to anyone and I guess I'm nervous that I'm going to screw up such a good thing."

Kurt leaned in and closed the distance between them. "How do you always know the right thing to say at the right time?" And with that their lips crashed together in what started out as innocent but grew into a more hungry, urgent kiss as it became mostly a tangle of tongues and teeth as they both took their turns moaning and letting out perfect little noises in the abnormal silence of the New York fall air. Kurt broke the kiss. "I had a good time tonight. I really will never be able to thank you enough for Radio City." He let his hand glide across Blaine's cheek as Blaine leaned into the touch. "And you could never screw this up. It was too perfect." They both gave a sheepish grin and leaned into a small kiss. "So, I know this is super short notice but this Wednesday is Halloween and I was wondering if you wanted to go to this NYADA party thing that me and Rachel are going to. It will probably be super lame and super boring but there will be plenty of singing and dancing and you would get to spend time with me." Kurt gave the cheesiest smile he could muster.

"Well as convincing as that sounded," Blaine said sarcastically, "I can't. I have to work pretty late at the coffee shop."

Kurt let out a sigh and his face seemed to fall slightly but didn't want Blaine to see it. "It's fine," Kurt expressed with the most convincing smile that he could.

Blaine gave a big sigh of his own and grabbed hold of Kurt's shoulders, "How about this? I see what I can do to get off at a decent time and I come by around ten or so and we can watch scary movies, snuggle under a blanket, eat some popcorn, what do you say?"

"I say that sounds fantastic, Anderson. I can't wait." Kurt gave Blaine one last tender kiss before walking up the stairs to the apartment. "Talk to you tomorrow?"

"Tomorrow."

"Bye." Kurt gave a cute little wave and disappeared behind the doors of his front door.

"Bye." Blaine said aloud, knowing that Kurt was already gone and would never hear it. He decided that after the night that he had, he would just walk home. The fresh air would do him good. He couldn't wait to get home and tell Wes all about his night.
