Hello my little Kurties! How have you been this past week? I hope it has been as wonderful and eventful as mine. Classes are good, graduation is on the horizon, my roommate is as crazy as ever (Hey, I can hear that) and I have discovered the best new place to get coffee.
Anyway, enough of my talk of all things sugarcanes and rainbows. This video is being made out of pure anger, well as angry as I can be after a week like this. If you don't want to hear me go on and on and rant and rave about anything and everything I suggest you turn this video off right now. That's right I am giving you full permission to stop watching this gorgeous face if you are going to complain about me complaining later in the comments. You still with me? Good. But in the end don't say I didn't warn you. Ok. Ready? Go.
First off can we talk about Zoey Deschanel's dress at the Emmys a couple weeks ago? In her defense this dress probably looked ah-mazing on the couture runway but on the red carpet where you are favorited to win your first Emmy...not so much. I mean, girl, I know you are all about the hipster, flower child-esque lifestyle but there is a time and place for fashion choices like that and I can tell you the Emmys is not that time.
That brings me to my second order of business. What is up with some of the musicals coming out next year? "50 Shades of Grey: The Musical?" "The Breakfast Club: The Musical?!" Where does it end? Next they will be taking other things that I enjoy just so they can tear my heart into tiny little pieces. 'Coming soon in 2019, Harry Potter: The Magical Musical Adventure.' That's the last thing we need is a repeat of Spiderman from 2014 where he fell into the audience nearly costing him his life. What's next 'Batman: Mysterious yet Musically Talented?' I hope not.
Which brings me to my last point of the day. I have a very important audition coming up in the next week and I am torn between several songs guys. I want your help. Should I sing Aftershocks from Next to Normal, Bring Him Home from Les Mis, or ol' faithful, Defying Gravity? What should I sing? Leave it in the comments below.
Now I may or may not have a date tonight with a handsome boy who satisfies my caffeine addiction so I have to go get ready and beautified for him. I'm really excited but super nervous. Wish me luck (crosses fingers). So, as always May the God herself, Patti LuPone, bless you. This is NYADAstud21signing off. See you next time everybody. Bye.
Kurt walked away from his computer after having successful uploaded his video to youtube and headed for his closet. He had exactly one hour until his reservation time at the quaint yet lavish little Italian restaurant that was only about a 15-minute walk from his apartment. Fall was Kurt's favorite time of the year. He loved the feeling of bundling up with a scarf and jacket or snuggling up with someone drinking a cup of hot coffee and walking through Central Park. Nothing could ever top that. He walked to the closet and the first thing he saw, wrapped in plastic was the Tom Ford suit that he had bought with his first real paycheck from an off-Broadway production of La Cage aux Folles that he had been in last summer. He had just played a swing but he had been more than excited and willing to do anything to get into the production. He ran his fingers over the suit through the plastic that seperated him from the beautifully crafted three piece. "One day Tom, one day." He was saving the suit for a special occasion but the time never seemed right for some reason. I mean, its not like he hadn't had oppurtunites to pull it out. It would have been simple to put it on when Cameron had dragged him to any one of the many dinner parties with some very wealthy businessmen which would have been sure to impress his collegues but never thought it important enough. Instead he pulled the white henley and vest off his body and replaced it with a simple black button up with a black tie. He tore off his fitted jeans and replaced them with some well tailored gray trousers. Kurt made his way to his bathroom that ajointed with the bedroom to style his hair. He pulled out his mousse and styling gel. He made sure that every hair was in place when he gave it a once over with his hair spray. Just as he walked back into the bedroom, he heard the familiar 'ding' of his computer. Someone had left a comment on his video. He thought before he left that he would check it. He popped up the screen of the laptop and there was the comment. Blanerson 2 minutes agoA date with a handsome boy, aye. No need to be nervous. That guy should be nervous, anyone would be around you.PS- you look beautiful in anything ;)Kurt tried to suppress a grin as his heart leapt out of his chest. He closed the laptop and slipped on his black leather Gucci shoes, carefully buttoned up his Calvin Klein peacoat, grabbed his keys, said a quick 'goodbye' to Rachel, and walked out the door for the short walk to the restaurant. He got out his phone as soon as he was out the door to shoot out a quick text.
Blaine was on break at work. While trying to eat an apple, he decided to go on YouTube to try to get his mind off of the fact that Kurt Hummel and him would be on a date, a real date, in less than three hours. Much to his surprise there was a new NYADAstud21 video that had just been posted less than 10 minutes ago. He opened it up to watch it on his phone.
Bye.
Blaine felt himself blush. Kurt was excited. He wanted to see Blaine that was very evident. Now Blaine was even more nervous than ever before. Blaine decided to leave a comment.
Blanerson 2 minutes agoA date with a handsome boy, aye. No need to be nervous. That guy should be nervous, anyone would be around you.PS- you look beautiful in anything ;)Blaine sat in the back room where it had been designated as the 'break room' but he was pretty sure that before Aldo had bought the building, this had been a storage closet as there was barely enough room for one person at a time to be sitting in there. Blaine finished off the apple in a hurry. Just as he was about to go back into the main dining room to finish off the night, Blaine's phone made the familiar 'Ba-ding' noise. He pulled the phone out of his dress pants to read the text.Kurt <3 7:43pmI know you are probably back to work from your break but I just wanted to let you know that I can't wait to see you and that I am on my way as I am sending this. I'm really excited, trust me, ask Rachel. Kurt <3 7:44pmOh by the way. Thanks for the comment ;)Blaine closed his phone. He needed to whip the dopey grin off his face before he went back out there. He took a second to himself to try to gain some composure. When he was satisfied that the smile had turned from smitten to genuine happiness (maybe he could get bigger tips if he looked happy to be at work) we walk back out onto the main floor. Kurt would be here soon and that sent butterflies right to his stomach as he sat in front of the piano.Blaine was playing the last couple of lines of Tiny Dancer when he directed his eyes toward the small entrance. There he was, in the doorway, as beautiful as ever.
Kurt went dressy casual for the night with a nice black suit jacket and tie paired with the amazing gray pants that were fitting him all the right ways. Blaine was going to have to do everything to not think about the gorgeous man in the pants hugging his tight ass.
Kurt walked over to Katie, the owner's niece, who stood by the hostess podium no doubt finding his reservation. He gave the small blonde girl a warm smile as she led him to a table in the middle of the room. He sat down and was handed a menu, which he accepted with a genuine smile. He immediately turned his gaze to the small stage where a baby grand piano sat as the dapper as ever looking Blaine sat and finished up the classic Elton John number.
Blaine was not dressed in the usual attire that Kurt was use to seeing him in. He had slicked down all his curls and had traded in his flannel and tight ankle pants for a much more dapper black suit and black bowtie.
Kurt looked right at Blaine with a starry eyed expression and a tiny smile. Blaine gave a teeth-bearing grin that could light up the entire room. Kurt bit his bottom lip and blushed...hard. Blaine must have noticed even through the distance because he gave just the slightest chuckle.
Blaine played the last chord of the song. "Thank you." Blaine looked into the crowd of people in the room eating and chatting with the other patrons. "This next one is an original arrangement of mine." Blaine began to play the familiar chords to a familiar tune. As he played, he got lost in what was absolutely one of the most beautiful songs he had ever heard. He looked into the crowd at a very starstruck Kurt staring back at him with his bright, shiny eyes. Just when Blaine looked up the waiter came by and asked for Kurt's order. Kurt had obviously not even opened his menu, as he looked stunned to see the young man in front of him. Blaine watched as the familiar look of embarrassment crept up the man's face. Kurt must have just picked the first thing that he saw on the menu because the tall waiter no older than 21, retreated away from the table not long after he had arrived.
Kurt watched in awe as he ate and drank his red wine while he enjoyed the exchanged glances with Blaine from the small stage not twenty feet away. Blaine played all genres of music, no doubt to appease all the restaurant patrons, He played Boston by Augustana, Silly Love Songs, Somewhere over the Rainbow (Kurt loved this one. God bless Judy Garland), When You Wish Upon A Star, that led right into Blaine's original piano arrangement of a Disney Song Medley, Baby One More Time, and Let It Be. Blaine spoke up, "This will be the last song of the night and I would like to dedicate it to a very special person that came out tonight. This is a man that has changed my life for the better and I will always be indebted to you," Blaine started to play the opening chords of his next song. He averted his eyes in the striking man's direction and with a sly little wink said, "Kurt Hummel, this one is for you." (Click)
You think I'm prettywithout any make-up on
You think I'm funny
when I tell the punch line wrong
I know you get me,
so I let my walls come down, down
Blaine focused on the piano in front of him. Trying not to screw up the lyrics or chords too bad. He had practiced it only a couple of times being that he had just decided to play it last night.
Before you met me,
I was alright
But things were kinda heavy,
you brought me to life
Now every February
you'll be my Valentine, Valentine
Blaine finally looked at Kurt trying to convey just how much these specific lyrics meant to him. Kurt had turned his life upside down when Blaine had just stumbled upon his videos almost two years ago. Blaine had never thought the same way after watching just one of Kurt's videos. Kurt knew just what he wanted out of life and wasn't afraid to go after it and Blaine wanted that.
Let's go all the way tonight
No regrets, just love
We can dance until we die
You and I, we'll be young forever
You make me feel like I'm living a teenage dream
The way you turn me on, I can't sleep
Let's runaway and don't ever look back
Don't ever look back
My heart stops when you look at me
Just one touch, now baby I believe
This is real, so take a chance
And don't ever look back, don't ever look back
Blaine finished the song pouring as much emotion into every word as he could possible fit. Kurt was looking back at Blaine with what Blaine thought were tear filled eyes. As soon as Blaine saw this, he started to worry. Was he making Kurt upset? Why was Kurt going to cry? Did he not like the song? Did he have bad memories associated with that song? He did just get out of a relationship. Blaine's heart beat so very hard with every passing second not knowing what Kurt's reaction was to the song. As he finally played the last chord of the song he looked up to see Kurt whipping at his eyes. Blaine thanked everyone and got up and walked away from the piano. He threw up one finger in Kurt's direction to indicate that he would be out in just a few minutes. Kurt gave a little nod and Blaine disappeared out of sight. He grabbed his jacket from the hook on the back room, punched out, and said goodbye to everyone. "Bye Izzy. I'll see you Monday?"
"Yeah I have to work a double." Izzy was probably the closest thing that Blaine had to a friend at work.
"That sucks." Blaine wrinkled his nose.
"Yeah. Have fun on the date." Izzy smiled. "I want to hear all about it later. Text me."
"Ok. I will. Wish me luck." Blaine yelled over his shoulder as he left the back room to the main room where Kurt was still sitting.
"You don't need it but good luck." Izzy smiled knowing that Blaine couldn't actually see her now.
Blaine made his way over to where Kurt was. He was even more beautiful up close than from a distance. "Ready to go?"
Kurt gave an excited nod. "Yeah, I just have to catch the waiter and grab the bill."
"Never mind that. It has been taken care of." Blaine gave a sly smile and a wink.
"Blaine I don't need you to..."
"I'm not. This is a date, right?" Kurt nodded. "Than I am paying. Plus it's kind of my fault that we had to spend our first official date at work."
"No, I didn't mind it. It was actually incredible. You are really good. Very talented. Is there anything you can't do?" Kurt gave a slight chuckle as Blaine helped him into his coat.
"I'm not that good. This is just something I do to make a little extra cash."
"Well you are incredibly talented. I mean, you paint, you sing, you play piano, and apparently you are an incredible photographer. I seriously envy people like you, Blaine." Blaine's faced blushed as they walked toward the front door to the restaurant. "So, what do you have planned for us tonight, Mr. Anderson?"
"Well Mr. Hummel, that is a surprise." Blaine held open the door for Kurt. "After you." Kurt blushed at the sweet gesture. Blaine was such a gentleman and he always knew exactly what to say to make Kurt swoon. He could only hope that it wasn't too good to be true.

Awww can't wait for the rest of the date!
Really enjoying this fic. Blaine is incredibly cute and adorable. And love how Kurt went to the coffee shop to find him every day.
