My phone beeps once, I groan forcing my hand from under the covers. I reach to my bedside table. A small smile plays on my lips as I read the text, it’s Blaine.“Get up! You won’t be getting away by pretending you’re ill!” I wonder if he knows how much he’s started to mean to me in the past few weeks. Probably not. I push off the covers and swing my legs out of bed. Another text.“Not joking! Get up, Hummel!” I roll my eyes, he knows how much it annoys me when he does that.

Three simple knocks on my door but I just know it’s him. I roll my eyes before opening the door, chuckling.

“Why aren’t you dressed yet!” he demands.

“Will you stop pressuring me?” I laugh. He looks at me with raised eyebrows. “Okay, okay! I’ll hurry.”

“Good,” he enters and walks straight to my empty fridge, “Kurt, how am I supposed to eat breakfast now?” he says, closing it again.

“How about, eating at your own place?” I yell from the bathroom.

“Good point.” He chuckles.

Blaine and I are getting along really well since that day at the coffee shop. Things really did change, we talk much more and we even hang out after school sometimes. It’s really nice. It feels like we’re friends. Actually, I think we are.

“Kurt! Hurry up! Don’t want to be late because of you.”

“Fine!” I come out of the bathroom feeling quite weird. I hate to admit it but when he’s here, in my flat, looking as sexy as ever…it does things to me.

“Are you wearing that?” He smirks.

“What’s wrong with it?” I ask.

“Nothing…nothing at all, if you’re aiming to feature in Gaga’s next video.” He teases.

“Will you stop criticizing my wardrobe choices! It’s not my fault that you don’t any have fashion sense.” I roll my eyes.

“Oh Kurt, are you starting to stand up for yourself?” He winks.

 “Let’s go.” I say, rolling my eyes as I grab my coat.

“Are you nervous for the show?” I ask as we walk to school. The first night is already next week, time really has flown past. Tonight is dress rehearsal already!

“Yes, are you?” he asks, looking at me.

I shrug “Even if I mess up, it’s not all that important, is it…?” I’m still failing miserably at hiding my disappointment for not getting the role.

“Kurt, every role is important. This show is like one big mechanism, every little things has to work well or the other parts won’t function well either. Everyone is important! And you definitely are.”

I smile, feeling fuzzy inside. My heart skips a beat, even, when I think I felt his hand briefly touching mine. However, when I glance down, his hands are in his pockets, and I wonder if I’ve only imagined it. Maybe it was the wind?

 “You know…I really thought you did really well at the sing-off, too.” He mutters.

“Oh really?” I say surprised.

“Too bad I was better.” He laughs.

“Will you shut up!” I punch his arm, ignoring him. I know it’s all just smug talk and that he doesn’t actually mean any of it, “can’t you just break a leg already?” I grumble.

He laughs, “I’ll see what I can do, Kurt. But I can’t promise you anything.”

“Or…you could call in sick?” I smile.

“Nice to know you didn’t put much thought into this.” He raises an eyebrow, “but, no. If you play Tony then who’d play Officer Krupke?! Trust me, there’s no one I’d rather see in that police outfit than you. You have a firm hold on that truncheon.” He says teasing.

I feel myself blush and he starts laughing, the sound making me light-headed.

We arrive at school and I see Rachel and Finn on the courtyard and Blaine’s friends at the very other side of it. We look at each other and I don’t really know what to say, to be honest.

“So…,” he’s fumbling with his fingers, so cute, “are we still getting a coffee after rehearsals?” he smiles.

“Sure.” I nod and I try to ignore the butterflies in my stomach. He makes me happy.

“See you later then.” He winks and walks off. I go to join Rachel and Finn. Rachel smiles at me in a mischievous way. “What?” I ask.

“You know what!” Rachel says, her eyebrows raised in a ‘Kurt-start-talking’ kind of way.

“What?” I ask, still not able to stop smiling.

Rachel raises her eyebrows again “You and Blaine are getting along really well lately, eh?”

I smile at her and nod. “He’s so amazing. I did not see this coming but Rach…I really like him.” I admit and I feel myself blush as I say it out loud for the first time. Finn snorts but looks away when I frown at him. I look back at Rachel, her smile grows so big I’m scared she might actually rip the corners of her mouth, “Don’t look at me like that!” I punch her.

“What?! Can’t a girl be happy for her best friend?” she says all innocent like.

“He’s just really nice, okay?” I defend myself.

“He is now.” Finn spits his face more hostile. I look at him with surprise, I don’t understand why he’s not happy for me, “Kurt, did you forget what he put you through? I don’t trust him.” Finn grumbles.

“You don’t understand it, Finn. He’s different. He’s not actually like that.” I say, defending him.

“Then why did he do that?! Kurt, you’re my best friend and I would hate to see you get hurt, again.” He says.

I look at him in awe. “Thanks Finn,” I smile, “but you need to trust me on this one. Blaine and I are actually not that different.”

“But Ku-“

“We are really happy for you, Kurt.” Rachel says interrupting Finn, elbowing his side. Finn gasps for air and Rachel gives him a “SHUT UP”-look.

“Thank you.” I smile. The bell rings and we start packing up our stuff to go to class, I look over my shoulder seeing how Blaine is quietly staring at me from the other side. I give him a small wave as he smiles at me. What’s this guy doing to me?!
