CHAPTER 21

The next day couldn't come fast enough. The hours passed as slowly as they could. Quinn had stayed for a few more hours, but even with the company of his best friend the hours didn't seem to stop slowing down. When Quinn left he was all alone in his room. The silence was killing him. He needed to do something before went crazy.

A big yawn interrupted his desperation. He hadn't even noticed how tired he was. All the pressure that he had had these past couple of days was finally making an appearance. So he decided that the best way to make hours pass was sleeping.

He got up, put his pajamas on, did his nightly routine and laid on his bed. His bed was so comfortable but even with all the comfort that it was offering he couldn't sleep, not yet. He sighed and rubbed his eyes. Images of Blaine smiling and images of Evelyn giggling made way into his mind. And suddenly a very important thought came to him.

Where were Blaine and his family going to live?

He hadn't thought about that. He obviously couldn't let them stay here at his house. His father would never allow that and he would never leave Kurt alone until he answered his questions about who were these people and why were they in his house. He didn't want to deal with that so he had to think. He had to think of a place safe enough were they all could live but close enough to the civilization.

An idea struck Kurt all of the sudden.

Their house on the woods. Well, it was basically his. He was the only one who went there anymore. His parents weren't interested in it no more.

The house was more than comfortable enough for four people. It had 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. You might be thinking 'wow! That's so much more than enough. Why don't your parents visit there anymore?' Well, I'll answer you that. It is very small for their taste. They are now used to power and big, expensive things, and houses are their weakness. So this house for them? It's too small. And it is a little bit hidden so it's quiet and calm and peaceful and they do not want that. They want the noise, they want to be noticed and they can't be noticed in the middle of the woods. That's why he loved to go there sometimes. His parents had given it to him when they noticed how much he loved going there. And he did love going there. From the moment you arrive there it is so peaceful. You can think about everything or nothing. He sometimes just sits down on the couch near the fireplace and reads a book while drinking warm milk.

This house was practically perfect for Blaine and his family. It is far away enough but not too far. And he can come and visit anytime he wants. Because living without Blaine is not an option.

He hadn't even had time enough to think about his feelings for Blaine. He was in the denial phase but he knew he had to get over it. He had to think seriously about his emotions towards Blaine. Sure, he had told Oskar and Quinn that he was in love with Blaine but that had just been because he was under pressure and he didn't really told Oskar, he found out by himself. But he himself hadn't even think about it.

His heart raced every time he saw Blaine. He felt lightheaded every time Blaine smiled, every time those beautiful hazel eyes lit up when he was near. His way of expressing with his hands, the way he scrunched his nose, the way... okay, okay... so maybe he really was in love.

But homosexuality was frowned upon. How was he supposed to be with Blaine if their relationship was going to be disgusting to a lot of people? Woah, wait. He was already thinking about a relationship with Blaine and he didn't even know if Blaine returned his feelings. God! He didn't even know if Blaine was gay. Oh God! Blaine wasn't gay was he? He was a handsome, beautiful, kind, honest, sweet, gorgeous straight guy. He was way out of his reach. Sure, Blaine gets excited every time he sees Kurt but that should only be because Kurt was helping him. He was his rescuer. He was his guardian angel at the moment. It had nothing to do with romantic feelings. Blaine didn't have romantic feelings towards him. Being gay was wrong, being gay was abnormal, being was was a sin. Being gay was who he was and he could not change even if he wanted to. He had to accept himself. But he could not come out to his father. He was going to be a disgrace to the family and he now knew what his father was capable of doing, he couldn't risk it. But he had to be honest with himself and he had to love himself. Maybe one day he would tell Blaine and maybe Blaine would not hate him, maybe he would accept him, maybe, just maybe he wouldn't be disgusted of him.

He couldn't lose Blaine, he just couldn't. Blaine had become such an essential part of his life so soon, too soon, and he couldn't even bear the thought of losing Blaine forever. So, should he hide who he really is from Blaine? Should he not tell him about him being gay? He wanted so badly to tell him. He didn't want to hide anything from Blaine but what if Blaine didn't accept him? What if Blaine was disgusted? He couldn't lose Blaine. He just couldn't. Of that he was more than sure. But he had to tell him. He wasn't going to hide who he really was from Blaine, his new best friend.

He was going to tell him. As soon as the moment presented itself Kurt was going to tell Blaine.

Obviously he had to get Blaine out first. But that was in the process. The next day, Blaine and his family were going to be free. At last. After months of torture and suffering they were going to live a normal life. He was going to get Blaine to finish high school and he was going to enroll Evelyn in kindergarten and Blaine's parents could find a decent job pretty quickly. There were plenty of job opportunities here. If they could cover well enough their religion they were going to be completely fine. The religion didn't matter to him. Maybe because they were the minorities and they were frowned upon just like he could be if he was utterly honest with everyone.

By this time his eyes had started to droop, he was getting sleepier by the minute. He turned off his lamp and cuddled his pillow, a soft smile on his face.

Tomorrow Blaine will be out. Tomorrow a new adventure will begin.
