Chapter Three: When Hands Touch

Blaine laughed at Kurt's reaction to his extraordinarily large apartment. He took Kurt's coat for him and hug both of their coats in the closet. Kurt's shoes clicked on the floor and the sound bounced off the large walls. He ran his hands over the countertops in awe, and then he stepped down into Blaine's entertainment room. He smiled at all of the movies and books Blaine had, and realized that he hadnt change a single bit (besides the fact that he had an enormous apartment that was breathtaking). Kurt picked through the vinyl records and pulled out Frank Sinatra and smiled at Blaine. Blaine smiled back and nodded at him to put it on. “You Make Me Feel So You” started playing quietly and Kurt laughed. Blaine lip synced to the beginning verse, and took Kurt's hand to spin him around. They both looked each other in the eye and held hands for a little too long, and then Kurt let go.

“Do you remember...” Kurt said, but Blaine cut him off.

“...when this played in your room when I was over, and Carol and Burt thought we were making out to it because I leaned over you to grab a water bottle?” Blaine finished, and laughed.

Kurt laughed as well and sat down on the couch, “That was literally the funniest thing. They gave me shit about that for WEEKS.”

Blaine spent the majority of his high school afternoons at Kurt's house. His parents were never really accepting of his sexuality, let alone Kurt's, so he spent the night sometimes in Lima. They would do homework together, rehearse for performances together, and watch movie together. They had never been closer. Mercedes and Rachel would always ask Kurt if he and Blaine would be a “thing”, but Kurt never had the courage to say maybe. He always saw it as a platonic friendship.

Blaine laughed and pointed over to the bar, “Wine?”

“Chardonnay?” Kurt said.

Blaine snapped his fingers and pointed at Kurt, “My personal favorite.”

Kurt crossed his legs and hummed along to the song while watching Blaine pour two glasses half full of the wine. Kurt remembered one Saturday when Blaine had come over to his house to study, and urged him to try a glass of wine. Kurt was so skeptical and only sixteen, so he felt badly about it. Blaine's parent's owned a wine vineyard, so Blaine had grown up drinking wine, so he trusted Blaine and tried it. He fell in love at first taste with the dark liquid, and he had Blaine to thank for that. Blaine picked up the wine glasses and made his way over to Kurt, handing him a glass.

“Thank you, kind sir.” Kurt said as Blaine sat down beside him.

“To you, Elder Price.” Blaine said, smiling and let out a chuckle.

“To you, Successful Writer.” Kurt said, smiling back and clinging their glasses together.

They both took a sip of wine at the same time, and both let out a small groan. They quickly made I contact, blushing and then cleared their throats. There was a short silence between the two men, both thinking about the other. Blaine turned and brought his legs up on the couch, crossing them and faced Kurt.

“So Mr. Hummel, in a non creepy way, where is your humble abode?” Blaine said, taking the whole glass of wine into his mouth and swallowing.

Kurt did the same and responded, “Um, around Bushwick actually. It's about 30 minutes from here. When Rachel and I graduated, New York was are goal. And to say the least, we made it.”

Blaine smiled, “My friend Sam lives in Bushwick! Sam Evans. He's amazing. I transferred to McKinley after you graduated, and I finished out my senior year there with him.”

“Sammy!” Kurt said, “Gosh, I haven't seen him in ages! Only on busses... Literally. On the sides of busses. He's always been so muscular.”

Blaine laughed, “Trust me, I've seen the busses as well. He made me take his picture in front of one while we were waiting to cross the street.”

Kurt rolled his eyes, “Typical Sam.”

Kurt stood up and stepped back up into the bar area to grab the whole bottle of wine. Blaine starred at Kurt, and then quickly turned back around before he could notice. Kurt poured more wine in Blaine's glass, and then into his. Blaine took the bottle from him and sat it on the table in front of them. The sat quietly for a moment and the record ended, so Blaine jumped up to put on another one. Kurt watches the way Blaine's hips moved as he walked, and starred at the tightness of his suit. Blaine may be small, but he's very muscular. Blaine couldn't decide on a record, so he opened the CD player and stuck in a CD titled, “High School”, and pressed play. Blaine sat his glass down and stood in his Warbler stance as the music began to play. Kurt quickly sat his glass down and joined Blaine, not forgetting this song or moment from their Dalton days. Animal was both of their favorite performance they did together, so they were both ready for a reunion to the song.

Blaine began the song, singing the first verse, and Kurt happily joined in. They danced around the room and sang in harmony like they had never done before. Kurt's voice blended better with Blaine's now, and Blaine's with Kurt's. Kurt took a drink of his wine while Blaine was singing, and listened to his voice. He sat his glass down and just watched Blaine. He remembered the time Blaine sang to him the first time. Blaine was singing...

Suddenly Kurt heard Katy Perry ringing throughout the whole house. He jumped at the sound, and was a little freaked out. As Teenage Dream played, Blaine apologized and ran to the door. Kurt walked over to the CD player and turned it off, and then sat down on the couch. He was astounded that Blaine had Teenage Dream as his doorbell sound, and wondered if it could be because of him.

Blaine opened the door and rolled his eyes, “Sam, what are you doing here?”

Sam smiled and tried to peek around the door, but Blaine blocked his view, “Is Kurt in there?”

“Yes, yes he is Sam. Now I'm going to shut the door now and you're going to go HOME.” Blaine gave him a stern diva look.

Sam held his hands up and grinned, “Fine, fine. Keep it PG, you two.” He yelled.

Kurt covered his mouth and tried not to laugh, while Blaine rested his head against the door and cursed at Sam under his breath. Blaine took a deep breath and straightened his bow tie, heading back into the living room. He saw Kurt trying not to laugh and smiled. Blaine grabbed his glass and sat down beside Kurt.

“Sorry for that... Sam can get a little... Sam sometimes.” Blaine said while rubbing the back of his neck.

Kurt laughed, “It's okay, Sam wasn't what surprised me. How and why did you have your doorbell set to ring to Teenage Dream?”

Blaine swallowed and took a sip of wine, “Well, you know, Katy Perry is just this...”

“Blaine, you don't have to lie to me.” Kurt said, making direct eye contact with Blaine's carmel eyes.

Blaine sighed and sat his glass on the table slowly, “Do you remember..”

Before Blaine could say anything else Kurt's lips were on his. Blaine placed his hand on the side of Kurt's face, and his body felt like it was floating. It was quick and simple, but it was pure bliss. Blaine had wanted to kiss Kurt for years. He had never forgotten about the chemistry that he knew they could have. When Kurt graduated, Blaine knew that there was no chance, so he out Kurt in the back of his mind. He never forgot about him, because Kurt had taken his heart.

Kurt pulled away and shook his head and whispered, “I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have done that.”

Blaine smiled at Kurt, “Yes you should have.”

Blaine placed his hand on Kurt's shoulder, running it up the back of his neck to pull him closer to Blaine. Kurt's body broke out in chills and he placed his hand on Blaine's leg. Blaine pulled Kurt  to meet his lips, and put is other hand on Kurt's back. Kurt leaned down and didn't realize that he was on top of Blaine. He put his hands on Blaine's face and kissed him deeper, wanting to let Blaine know they were on the same page. Blaine broke the kiss this time, and starred up at Kurt. Kurt smiled down at Blaine and ran his thumb over Blaine's cheek.

“You're a very good kisser Mr. Anderson.” Kurt said while smirking.

Blaine blushed and smiled, “So are you, Mr. Hummel.”

Blaine wrapped his arms around Kurt's back, feeling his small yet built figure. Kurt placed his head on Blaine's chest and just laid there in his arms. Blaine had thought about this day for years; the day when he could hold Kurt in his arms. Kurt closed his eyes and laid there, listening to Blaine's heart beating quickly. He smiled and knew his heart was doing the same.

“Kurt?” Blaine said, breaking the silence between them.

“Yes?” Kurt said, raising his head up to look at Blaine.

“Thank you.” Blaine said.

Kurt looked confused, “For what?”

Blaine smiled, “Putting the light back in my eyes so I can see what I really need.”

Kurt smiled and placed his head back on Blaine's chest, “I could say the same to you.”

Kurt's phone went off in his back pocket, disrupting the moment they were having. He sat up and the sound was muffled, but Blaine covered his smile and tried no to be astonished. Kurt wasn't really thinking about it, and pulled his phone out, and it blared Teenage Dream. Kurt looked at Blaine, and Blaine looked at Kurt. They both laughed and Kurt threw his phone across the room and jumped back on top of Blaine.

“I can't get enough of you, Hobbit.” Kurt said, smiling widely at Blaine.

Blaine kiss Kurt softly and responded, “I can't get enough of you, Elf.”

Kurt looked at his watch and realized that it was almost one o'clock in the morning, “Blaine,  would stay longer, but I have a show tomorrow afternoon at twelve and I need my beauty sleep.”

Blaine smile and sat them both up, Kurt in his lap, “Go get some rest. I'm not going anywhere. I'll call you a cab.” Blaine smiled and got up from the couch to get his phone in the kitchen. Kurt stood up and got his phone from across the room, and unlocked it so he could put Blaine's number in his phone. Blaine walked back in the room with his phone and they both said at the same time:

“Will you put you number in my phone?”

They both laughed and swapped phones. Blaine putting his number in Kurt's phone, and Kurt putting his number in Blaine's phone.  They gave each other their phones back and Blaine called a cab for Kurt. While Blaine was on the phone, Kurt walked down the hall and admired all of the pictures hanging on the walls. Pictures of the city, pictures of his family, and a picture of the Warblers. Blaine was clutching on to Kurt's shoulders and they were all laughing in the picture. He wondered down further and opened the door to a room that he didn't know Blaine would ever have. The was a mini grand piano in the center of the room, and three of the walls were glass, looking out on the city. There were piles of sheet music everywhere, and framed articles on the wall. Some from there high school years, and others from where Blaine played the piano in bars downtown. He had framed vinyl records hanging below the articles, and below those, more articles. These were different though; these had to do with his writing career. Kurt smiled and walked out of the room, shutting the door, and headed back down the hall to meet Blaine.

“Yes. Okay. Thank you.” Blaine hung up and sat his phone on the counter, “The cab is waiting outside of the building for you. Blaine said smiling, but then losing the smile quickly.

“Blaine, don't give me that puppy dog face. I'll call you tomorrow.” Kurt said, rubbing his hands on Blaine's short arms.

Blaine stood up on his tip-toes and wrapped his arms around Kurt'd neck, “I'm glad I saw you again tonight. It was like meeting you again.”

Kurt rested his head on Blaine's shoulder, “I'm so happy that we reconnected. I don't ever want us to part again.”

Blaine smiled and squeezed Kurt tightly, and then walked him towards the door. He grabbed Kurt's jacket and helped him slide his arm's inside the sleeves, and then he opened the door for him. Blaine watched Kurt walk out the door, and quickly grabbed his shoulder and spun him around. He grabbed Kurt by his tie and pulled him against him and kissed him passionately. Blaine stopped kissing Kurt, and Kurt's eyebrows rose to his hairline.

Blaine winked, “I'll call YOU.” He said, and shut his apartment door.

Kurt stood there for a second, realizing what just happened and smiled. He threw his hands up in the air and did a little dance while waiting for the elevator to open, and then stepped inside. Blaine witnessed all of this, watching Kurt through the peep hole in the door, and laughed once Kurt was gone. Blaine then did the same, jumping up and down in his apartment and spinning in circles.

Kurt was watching the floor numbers go down from twenty-two, twenty-one, and then his phone went off. He picked it up quickly:

“Hello?” Kurt said.

“I told you I would call you.” Blaine sad, smiling through the phone.

Kurt laughed, “You don't waste any time do you, Mr. Anderson.”

Blaine laughed, “You never know, some hot guy could ask you out after you sign is bright shinny chest.”

“That's true.” Kurt said, trying to sound serious.

Blaine did say anything for a second and dropped down on his bed.

“Blaine, I'm kidding.” Kurt said seriously.

Blaine smiled, “I know. I was testing you.”

Kurt rolled his eyes and the elevator opened, “Thank you for calling me a cab.”

“Repay me by going out with me Monday?” Blaine said, hopefully.

“Hmmmm... Of course I will.” Kurt said.

“Amazing. I'll pick you up. Is one o'clock okay?”

“That's perfect.” Kurt said.

“I know you are.” Blaine said, and hung up.

Kurt rolled his eyes, “Still cheesy.” He said, and got into the cab to take him home.

Blaine clapped his hands together and smiled, “Thank you, Sam Evans.”
