Chapter 2
The next day, Blaine arrived at school to find Kurt standing at his locker, with a coffee in each hand.
“Medium drip for the guy in the bowtie,” ‘and sinfully tight pants,’ Kurt wanted to add.
“Kurt, you didn’t have to-,”
“Oh, shush, drink your coffee,” Kurt interrupted. Blaine smiled, and they both stood in comfortable silence for a moment, drinking their coffees. “So, what happened after I left yesterday? Unless you don’t want to talk about it, then we can talk about something else or, you know, what did you think about the math homework?” Blaine smiled and laughed. Kurt was adorable when he was nervous. He was a babbling mess.
“Kurt, it’s fine,” Blaine stopped him, grinning. “I told them.”
“Really! What did they say? Were they okay with it?” Kurt interrogated, nervously. He’d seen what happened to him when Karofsky bullied him; he couldn’t bear for him to go through that again because of his parents, which would hurt him even more.
“They were great about it, actually. It was terrifying, nonetheless. I shaking throughout the whole thing,” Blaine answered, smiling. “I actually had no idea what I was scared of.”
Kurt exhaled. ‘Thank God,’ he thought. “That’s great! I mean, doesn’t feel good to not be hiding anything anymore?”
Blaine nodded, smiling. “Thanks Kurt, really. I don’t know what I would do-,” Blaine was interrupted by a meaty figure slamming him into the cool metal of the lockers. “Faggots!” it yelled. Blaine blinked his eyes open, and watched as a laughing Karofsky strut down the hall like he owned the damned school.
“Ohmygod, Blaine!” Kurt exclaimed, helping Blaine up. He didn’t bother to ask if he was okay, because he knew he wasn’t-he could see the pain, the fear, the anger in his eyes. “Come on, let’s go to the nurse,” Kurt said, putting one of Blaine’s muscular arms around his shoulder, and extending an arm around his waist, to help him walk there.
~
They left the nurse with some ice and the prognosis of, “Nothing’s damaged, but you’ll probably be sore in the morning.” When they were asked what happened, Kurt merely replied, “Karofsky, giving us a hard time again.” She just nodded, understandingly. When Kurt came out, he became very close with her, because he’d make weekly trips to the nurse, due to Karofsky’s wrath. But now Karofsky had a new target-Blaine. And to be honest, Blaine getting beaten up hurt more than any punch thrown at Kurt. Of course, the nurse had reported Karofsky to the principal numerous times, but after being ignored every time, she stopped trying-there was no use in trying to report someone who donated so much money to the school.
Limping out of the nurse’s office, Kurt at his side, Blaine made his way down the hall to his locker. The bell had already rung, and he was late for English, but he still didn’t have his books. When he got there, he fumbled with the lock, still shaking from the attack.
“Here, let me,” Kurt said, brushing Blaine’s hand aside softly. He knew the combination because he’d bring Blaine his books whenever he was sick, and Blaine had done the same for him. He undid the lock, and Blaine pulled out the books he needed.
“Thank you, Kurt,” Blaine repeated for the millionth time. He laughed softly and sadly. “You must think I’m so pathetic.”
“Blaine Anderson, you are anything but pathetic,” Kurt answered.
Blaine glanced up from his shoes to see Kurt’s usually piercing blue eyes turn soft. ‘God, you’re beautiful,’ he thought, stuck in the daydream that was Kurt Hummel. He cracked a smile. “Well, I’d better get going to English,” he said, lingering for a moment.
‘God, your lips are gorgeous,’ Kurt swooned. Their eyes met and Kurt leaned in, taking in Blaine’s cologne before their lips met. Blaine melted into the kiss, and Kurt placed his hand on the back of Blaine’s neck, while Blaine wrapped his arms around Kurt’s waist. They stayed like this for a minute or two in the silence of the hallway, mouths moving, until Kurt pulled away, and whispered, “Analyze that.”
