“Wake up!”
I quickly opened my eyes. As I looked around, I saw my new friend’s face, smiling at me.
“Um... good morning.” I greeted.
He smiled. “Good morning. You have a good sleep.”
I yawned. “I guess.”
“You definitely.”
I looked outside of the window.
“I thought you’re going to wake up when I lifted you.” he said, looking at his phone.
I stared at him for a while. “What? You lifted me... here?”
“I was.”
I blushed. I never felt being lifted someone – at my age right now. I’m already 17 but I couldn’t believe that this young stranger could lift me. He didn’t know me, right? To others, they could simply wake me up, tap my shoulder or just leave me in the train station. But he didn’t do that.
“Oh. You’re okay? You’re turning red.” he commented.
I shook my head. “No, no. I’m not turning red. And yeah, I’m okay. Thanks a lot.”
He smiled warmly. “I’m so glad to meet and have time with you.”
“Me... Me too.”
Later, the train conductor spoke.
“Ohio!” he called.
I quickly stood and held his hand. “The man says Ohio. Let’s go.”
We went outside of the train together with a few passengers who stopped in Ohio, too. We are facing each other in the train station. It’s time to say goodbye to him now.
“I’m very pleased to meet you.” he said. “I’m Blaine.”
I smiled as I shook hands with him. “Kurt.”
“Nice to meet you, Kurt.”
“Nice to meet you too, Blaine.” I answered.
I couldn’t help but to give him a friendly hug.
“Thank you so much.” I said.
“You’re very welcome. I hope we can still see each other. Hope it wasn’t our last meeting.”
“If the world is really small, we will see each other again.”
He gazes at his wristwatch then smiled at me for the last time.
“I have to go now. I will go home to take a bath.” he said, staring at me.
“Take care, Blaine. Thank you – for a second time.”
“Yeah. Bye and take care, Kurt.”
I remained standing while watching him going to the opposite direction. Many passengers were walking here and there, and he quickly lost in my sight. I am going to miss him. What?! I mean... my first trip in New Year wasn’t unforgettable because I already meet someone. A new friend of mine.
I gazed at my wristwatch. 6:02 in the morning. I only got two hours to prepare everything in school. Just hope that I will catch Finn in our house.
I decided to ride on a cab to reach our house. While riding on the cab, I couldn’t help but to remember his face and his smile. His cute dimples every time he’s smiling. Blaine.
What a cute name, isn’t it? Suits for a five-year-old baby faced boy. Oh well, he’s kinda baby face in some ways. I couldn’t stop gushing at him right now. Oh man... what is happening to me? Kurt, he’s just a stranger. Period.
“Oh, Kurt?!” Finn asked, looking at me, surprised.
“Yes, yes.” I answered as I sat on the sofa.
“Where have you been?”
“Silly. I went to New York.”
He sat on the sofa, facing me. “New York? Why?”
“You forgot it? Dad and Carole were living there.”
“Oh. Sorry. I forgot.” he apologized.
I removed my socks and then... oh, he forgets his coat. I forgot to give it to him.
“Hey, Kurt. Nice coat.” Finn commented.
“It isn’t mine.”
“Then who?”
“It’s Blaine’s coat.”
Finn stared at me in confused eyes. “Who’s... Blaine?”
“The stranger I met in the train station.”
“Wow. You’re friendly today.”
“Whatever. Were both gays.” I said as I stood and went to the kitchen to get some water.
“Gays? As in... homosexuals?”
“What others you may expect, huh, Mr. Finn Hudson?”
“Oh. I’m sorry again...”
