“Hello?” he answered through a yawn. It had been a long day full of gossip blogs,rehearsing, and autographs. The beginning of Blaine's ringtone woke him up. The moment he got home he fell right to sleep. Until he had been awoken by an unfamiliar number. 

“Hi. Uh Blaine? It's Kurt Hummel.Is that you?”

“Uh yeah it's me. Remember. Drop the formalities.”

Blaine chuckled but he heard silence in return. Something was wrong. “Are you okay? I mean, I know we arent close but you can tell me anything.”

“It's just…the neanderthals at school,” that couldnt be the end of it “, They uh decided that dumpster diving was my new favorite thing. Empty dumpster diving that is.”

Blaine could hear Kurt's voice crack on the last sentence. The voice was beautiful. So beautiful it shouldn't have a tone of sadness in it. 

“Oh Kurt. Dont let them faze you. As for the dumpsters…shouldn't you tell someone? I mean if it were me I would tell someone.” Kurt sniffled. He answered but his voice was strained.

“Yeah I wont let them bring down ol' Kurt Hummel,” Kurt laughed humorlessly. He was putting up an act and Blaine wasnt buying it. “, and I can't tell anybody. They already know. They just dont care.” Blaine couldnt believe what he was hearing. How could anybody not care about him? 

“ Kurt drop the act. I know a little bit about you and I can tell your lying. Or, not lying but faking. You dont have to fake with me.” At those words Kurt broke.

“I just…wanted to talk to you ‘cause you gave me that number, and I know you dont consider your self a “celebrity” but to me it's still a little surreal that you would want to talk to me. I'm rambling sorry.” Kurt took a breath and started again. “This friendship, or whatever it is, is one of the only things keeping me together. You dont really know the extent of the, um bullying. It's even worse than you think. But,” he took a breath, “ let's not discuss that right now. Cheer me up.” Blaine was hesitant. He knew Kurt should talk about it but, they could do that another time. 

“Well…I'll be in Ohio in a month. So I think we should meet. I mean, if you want.” Kurt couldnt believe it. Blaine Anderson nervous. He was nervous to meet Kurt. 

“ I'll be okay with that. Come to my sectionals competition,” Kurt was suddenly cheerful, “I wont have a solo but I do have some key parts. You can hear me sing!” 

“ Yeah I will definitely come to that. I can actually see your face.” Kurt laughed. Best laugh on the planet if Blaine had a say. “ I hope your all cheered up now. I'm really sorry but I gotta go.”

“ Okay. Bye Blaine Anderson.”

“ Formalities,” Blaine laughed, “ Bye Kurt Everett Hummel.”

“ Not even close.”
