Author's Notes: This is a pretty (OK, make that 'very') long one ... but hopefully worth the read! :)
The next day was a nervous one for Kurt. He woke up far too early, spent way too much time and money deciding on a new outfit for his 'big night out', and was barely able to touch any food.

'Really, Kurt - anyone would think you'd never been on a date before.' Rachel chimed as they were getting ready to leave.

'It's not a date! Don't say that. Don't even think that.' Kurt hissed, adjusting his collar for the twentieth time and frowning at his reflection in the mirror.

'You look awesome.' Rachel said into the glass, applying one last coat of lipgloss and beaming at Kurt. He responded with a squeeze around her waist and a big kiss on her cheek, which she giggled at and then promptly retouched her face with her powder compact. Kurt rolled his eyes and smiled, admitting to himself that his new shirt, vest and skinny jeans in shades of cream, pale blue and deep grey definitely looked good on him. His hair was teased into its usual style, he smelled 'divine' according to Rachel, and no matter how hard he was trying to hide it, he was seriously excited to be seeing Blaine again. He took one last deep breath and assessed the situation.

'OK, do we have everything that we need?'

'Seriously babe, we've checked and double-checked ... money, keys, phone, us ... what else could we possibly need?'

'Tranquilisers?!' Kurt fanned his face with his hand.

'Honestly,' Rachel laughed. 'It's me who's doing the nerve-wracking thing tonight, remember?! You'll be fine.'

'And so will you. Because you're a star. And you look incredible.' Kurt nodded, admiring her slinky black halter dress, patterned tights and sexy, knee-length crimson boots.

'Awwww, shucks. Now come on, before you make me late for my very first gig.'

***

Kurt scanned the bar as soon as they arrived, hoping to catch sight of Blaine's shiny curls amid the throng of people already packing themselves into the venue.

'Wow. OK, really quite nauseous now.'

'Rach - you are going ... to be ... ama-zing!' Kurt looked deep into Rachel's eyes as he spoke, and she nestled her forehead into his chest timidly. It was just after eight, and it looked like she was definitely going to be playing to a full house tonight.

'I guess I'm gonna try to find Danny.' Rachel mumbled to herself, checking her cell phone and cursing under her breath when she saw that her pianist-friend hadn't replied to any of her texts since before lunch. 'Jesus.' she sighed, and wandered off to make yet another call in the hopes of tracking him down. And then Kurt saw them.

Blaine was standing with a very tall, dark-haired man quite near to the bar. Kurt couldn't help but chuckle to himself at just how different the two men were in height, Blaine suddenly looking very diminutive and slight compared to his broad, athletic-looking companion. Kurt noticed that they weren't actually touching one another, and decided that this was a very good sign - maybe Blaine simply felt that he had needed a 'wing-man' to accompany him on nights out with strange men who seemed besotted with him after only a couple of chance meetings.

Breathe, Kurt. Breathe.

Rachel returned to his side looking thankfully a little less stressed than when she left. 'OK, so he's here ... said he's been feeling kinda off all day though, so that's why he hasn't been answering his phone. Still, at least he's here, right?!'

'Right.'

'O-kaaaaaay. So have you spotted your guy yet?'

'Just. He's right over there.' Kurt gestured to the far end of the bar, and at that moment Blaine turned his head and caught sight of Kurt, his face breaking into a huge grin as he waved to get their attention. Blaine's companion seemed embarrased at his somewhat shameless display in the middle of a crowded bar, but Blaine didn't look the slightest bit phased. He just looked ... well ... stunning.

Blaine was wearing a dark purple shirt, a skinny mauve tie done up loosely around an open collar, and his trusty dark denims. He had styled his hair into a side-parting with a fairly high sweep of his curls on top of his head, and it made him look different, but very sexy. His 'friend' was wearing a dark blazer over a tight white t-shirt and grey jeans, and Kurt had to admit that this guy was also extremely good-looking.

'Hey - you made it!' Kurt exclaimed when he and Rachel finally reached the bar.

'Of course. We wouldn't have missed it.' laughed Blaine, reaching out a hand and squeezing Kurt's forearm lightly. A tiny shockwave danced along Kurt's arm and he felt his cheeks begin to redden. Blaine's eyes moved over to Rachel, and he stepped towards her, leaning in and planting a soft kiss on her cheek. 'And you must be the lovely and talented Rachel!'

'Guilty as charged! Hi Blaine.' Rachel giggled and fluttered her eyelashes first at him, and then up, way up into the eyes of his companion.

'Guys, this is my brother, Finn. Finn, this is Kurt, and this is Rachel - our gorgeous entertainment for the evening.'

Kurt was completely relieved to hear that the new guy was a relation rather than anything more threatening to his ever-growing need to get to know Blaine better, and he smiled to himself as Finn flushed wildly upon being introduced to Rachel in such a way.

Aw. He's shy. That's too cute.

Rachel also seemed in awe of this tall, handsome stranger, something that Kurt didn't often see. Rachel was usually very aloof around men, and certainly wasn't averse to a one-night stand or five if the fancy struck her. But this look was different. Tonight she just looked like she was hoping to find a Prince Charming to be carried off into the sunset by.

Kurt and Blaine shared a knowing glance and tried not to smirk too obviously at their friends.

'Alrighty - who needs a drink? Cos I sure as hell do!' Rachel chirped, letting Kurt know that she hadn't entirely had an personality transplant.

'I do.' Finn raised his hand and offered his very first words of the night, and Kurt smiled at the sound of his soft, easy-going voice. 'Blaine - beer?'

'Oh god, no.' Scowled Blaine, and Finn laughed, obviously acknowledging an inside joke between the two of them.

'Wine, then? Peach schnapps?'

'Shut up!' Blaine snorted, and Kurt had to fight to hold in the faint, lustful whimper which threatened to escape whenever Blaine laughed like that.

'What then?'

'We'll get them both a rum and coke.' said Rachel, taking hold of Finn's hand and leading him back through the crowd towards where the nearest bartender was stood. Finn gladly followed.

'DIET COKE!!' Kurt and Blaine both yelled in unison after them, falling into a belly-laugh and holding each other up for support. When they had managed to recapture their breath, their eyes met and Kurt thanked Blaine again for being there.

'Oh, seriously Kurt. I don't get out nearly as much as I should, and Finn probably even less. You've done us a huge favour tonight. Plus, I think my brother-dearest is just a teensy bit the smitten kitten right now.'

'Haha. They do look pretty good together, don't they?' Kurt mused, watching the pair lean in to one another coyly as they chatted together at the bar.

Blaine nodded. 'Finn's not had the easiest of years ... it's good to see him smiling.'

Kurt was about to ask why when a glass was pushed into his hand by Rachel. 'Thanks, sweetie.' He smiled, taking a sip of his drink and shuddering slightly. Blaine had just done the exact same thing. Rachel rolled her eyes.

'Oh, boys. Loosen up and let the booze warm your hearts. Cheers!!' She chimed, and the four friends clunked their glasses together noisily. Rachel downed her glass of wine in one and let out a tiny unexpected belch, receiving a round of applause from the guys amid their laughter.

'Okey-dokey ... gotta go. My audience awaits!'

'Have fun, honey-bun ... love you!' Yelled Kurt as Rachel gestured towards a side door labeled 'staff only' and made her way through it, getting a nod from the nearest barman as she did so. She waved and disappeared out of view, Kurt breathing a deep sigh.

'Man. She's awesome.' Finn gasped to no-one in particular.

'Pretty sure she likes you, too.' Kurt smiled up at Finn, watching his face light up even more-so, if that was even possible. They all took another swig of their drinks and made their way slowly towards the opposite end of the room where the small stage and grand piano were situated. They bagged a spot over to the right of the stage and awaited the appearance of their starlet friend, noting that Danny the pianist had already sat himself down and was obviously trying to gather his wits. Kurt had met the man a couple of times, and had to admit that he was looking pretty dreadful tonight, sweating and occasionally holding his stomach.

'Hey, Blaine - you tempted?'

Finn nodded towards the piano, and Blaine quickly held up his hands in protest. 'Not even a little bit.' He replied, shaking his head.

'You play?' Kurt said, hoping that Finn wasn't referring to Blaine being tempted by Danny, because - well, ew!

'Kurt, this guy's a genius - or whatever they call dudes who play instruments really well.'

'A virtuoso.' Blaine responded. 'And I'm absolutely not!' he added, noting Kurt's keen look of admiration. 'I kinda studied music for a while' He finally shrugged.

'That's not even the half of it.' Finn laughed. 'My brother is one of the most talented guys you'll ever meet, and he could've taken about a million job offers with orchestras around the world. But he chose to stay home and teach the crazy folk of New York City how to play stuff - except they'll NEVER be anywhere near as good as him.'

Kurt looked between Blaine and Finn as he spoke. Blaine was obviously embarrassed at having his skills so shamelessly plugged like this, but he gave a meek smile in Kurt's direction and shrugged his shoulders again. 'I like what I do.'

'Wasted talent, man. Seriously.'

Blaine sighed heavily and wound up draining his glass. 'More drinks?' He chimed, and took off towards the bar without waiting for an answer.

Finn cleared his throat and took another swig of his beer, glancing over at Kurt, who smiled and shrugged again. 'Families, huh?'

Kurt nodded. 'Can't live with 'em ...'

Moments later, a man appeared on the stage and announced Rachel's entrance. She entered to loud applause and several wolf-whistles, giving a small curtsy before nodding to Danny and launching into her opening song, Lady GaGa's 'You and I'. Kurt beamed up at the stage, all nerves for her completely forgotten as he watched her strut around the stage, interacting with Danny and her audience, all the time singing with power and poise.

'Wow!' Finn leaned down and shouted in Kurt's general direction. Kurt looked back and nodded enthusiastically, catching Blaine's eye as he returned with their drinks and taking a glass from his hands gratefully, thrilling for a second as his fingers brushed Blaine's. Blaine handed Finn a fresh beer and gave him a lop-sided grin, which was returned in kind with a pat on the back from his brother. This was obviously their silent way of keeping the peace whenever they disagreed about stuff, and Kurt found it quite touching.

Rachel's song ended and she drank in the applause. Finn was by far the loudest cheerer of their group, and she looked over at him and gave a little wink before properly introducing herself and Danny, who still looked decidedly green around the gills. She smiled at him and he began the intro to her next song, 'Total Eclipse of the Heart'.

'God, I love this one.' Blaine leaned into Kurt to make himself heard, putting an arm around his shoulder for support. Kurt's heart fluttered lightly in his chest. 'She's fabulous.' Blaine gasped, and Kurt's head span at the feel of that soft, warm breath on his neck. He could only nod in response, and his spirits sank when Blaine removed his hand from his shoulder. Blaine stayed close though, cradling his drink and moving quietly along to Rachel's next three songs, whooping his appreciation whenever the right moment arose. Kurt occasionally forgot to breathe.

Rachel announced a short interval and made her way over to the piano, seeming to have a heated discussion with Danny before watching him dash from the stage. Her shoulders slumped and she trudged over to the guys, a shadow of the girl that Kurt knew and loved.

'What's wrong?' Kurt asked, putting out his hands for Rachel to hang onto.

'He's sick!' She spat. 'Like - sick, sick. Ate some bad seafood last night ... or something.' She could barely raise her head to look at him, and Kurt could tell that if she did, she'd most likely cry. 'What am I gonna DO, Kurt?!'

'Blaine'll play for you.' Finn chimed, giving Blaine a little shove in the back.

Blaine stood with his mouth gaping for a second, his eyebrows almost completely lost in his hairline. He looked across to Kurt and Rachel, who were both wide-eyed and nodding wildly at him, their faces full of hope and faint desperation.

'Oh, god.' He groaned. Kurt flashed him his finest puppy-dog look and he laughed nervously. 'OK, fine. But only because of that!' He sighed, pointing to Kurt's adorable expression. Rachel and Kurt jumped up and down and clapped excitedly, and Finn patted Blaine on the shoulder again, leaning in and saying 'Thanks, man.' directly into Blaine's ear. 'Hmmmm. No problem.' he half-growled in Finn's direction.

'OK, I'm gonna need some more of this.' Rachel grabbed Kurt's drink and took a large swig, returning the almost-empty glass to his hand. Kurt gasped in mock horror at being suddenly drinkless.

'Take mine.' Laughed Blaine, pushing his drink into Kurt's free hand and clasping both of his own around it. He received a grateful nod from Kurt. 'I'm gonna ...' He glanced towards the stage and Kurt nodded quickly again, a goofy grin on his face.

Blaine visibly steeled himself up and wandered to the side of the stage, climbing a few steps before making his way to the piano. He was pulled into a grateful hug by Rachel before taking a seat and tinkling a couple of the piano keys, adjusting his position so that he could perform to the best of his abilities. He and Rachel chatted and nodded amongst themselves, obviously going over the rest of her setlist. Kurt was in awe at the sight of his two favourite people together on the stage.

Rachel grabbed the microphone and thanked the audience for their patience, explaining that she'd had to make 'a quick band adjustment due to unforeseen circumstances'. She introduced Blaine, who received even more wolf-whistles than Rachel had earlier, and Kurt and Finn laughed affectionately as Blaine tried hard to hide his very obvious blushes.

SO cute!

'Hit it, kiddo!' Rachel spun and shouted pointedly to Blaine, who launched into the elaborate intro to one of Kurt's very favourite songs - Gloria Gaynor's 'I Will Survive'. Kurt was totally stunned.

'Pretty good, huh?' Finn leaned in and laughed.

Kurt nodded, unable to drag his eyes away from Blaine's fingers as they ran up and down the piano keyboard effortlessly. The audience cheered in recognition of a timeless classic, and Blaine let out a little laugh which Kurt found particularly adorable. Rachel belted out the song like a pro, and it was clear that this new pairing was considerably more appreciated than the previous one.

Kurt could see that Blaine was enjoying himself way more than he'd first imagined he would, and he just couldn't help but stare at Blaine's back, hands, shoulders, biceps - everything that was becoming so much more animated as a result of his playing. He was pretty sure that he spent the entire length of one song with his eyes planted on Blaine's pert little butt as it perched on the piano stool, but he didn't even care if anyone called him up on it - he was feeling more and more tipsy following another round of drinks from Finn, and his inhibitions seemed to have melted away. Plus, he was having an amazing time, and that ass was FINE!

Before long, Rachel was announcing her final song, and the crowd let out a loud 'Ooohhhhhh', including Kurt who flashed a pouty face in Blaine's direction. Blaine laughed and pretended to wipe away a tear, but then nodded enthusiastically at Rachel when she added that they hoped they'd be back again soon, receiving yet more cheers. She wandered over to the piano and put her hand on Blaine's shoulder.

'Now Blaine, honey. I've noticed you singing along to some of my songs tonight ... d'you think maybe we should let these guys hear your pretty voice too for this last one?'

Blaine's face fell into one of panic, and Kurt reeled at the thought of hearing him sing, wondering if his voice could possibly match his playing ability.

'Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh!!!!' Finn yelled from behind him, and Kurt couldn't help but add a little cheer of his own.

Blaine screwed up his face, the crowd almost deafening in their encouragement for the impending duet. Rachel was handed another microphone by someone offstage, and she leaned into the piano and slotted the mic into place in front of Blaine, shimmying sexily into him and kissing him slowly on the end of the nose. Blaine chuckled, suddenly audible through his mic, and Kurt's belly did a quick cartwheel.

'Lucky son-of-a ...' Finn hissed through his teeth, and Kurt grinned. This one really had it bad for his friend - but then, he wondered how obvious it was that he had it bad for Finn's brother!

Blaine appeared to have given in to the pleas from Rachel and the crowd, and following a quick discussion over what they would sing, he watched Rachel saunter to the other end of the piano and prop herself against it. She stared across at Blaine and lifted the microphone to her lips:

There's a fire starting in my heart
Reaching a fever pitch and it's bringing me out the dark
Finally I can see you crystal clear
Go ahead and sell me out and I'll lay your ship bare

And then suddenly, Blaine was singing back to her:

See how I leave with every piece of you
Don't underestimate the things that I would do
There's a fire starting in my heart
Reaching a fever pitch and it's bringing me out the dark

Kurt's heart had very nearly stopped. Blaine's voice, though a tiny bit wobbly to begin with, was soon pitch perfect and washed over Kurt like a wave, filling his head and swimming around his insides. He shot a quick glance to Finn, who grinned and gave him a 'told you so' look, immersing himself back into the song. The pair continued, harmonising effortlessly, and Blaine's confidence levels grew all the time as he sang. It ended all too soon, but not before Kurt had been reduced to a quivering pile of mush, on the inside at least. Rachel took several bows as the crowd gave her more rapturous applause, smiling and blowing little kisses around the room. She walked over to the piano and took Blaine's hand, leading him from his seat to the front of the stage and insisting that he receive his praise too. He smiled gently and kept hold of her hand as they bowed together.

The pair made their way from the stage, stopping to talk briefly with the guy who had introduced Rachel at the beginning of the set, and Kurt smiled as he watched Rachel give Blaine another enormous hug. Several audience members stopped them to shake their hands and compliment Rachel in particular on her incredible performance, and Kurt felt a warm glow as he saw how sweet and humble his friends were being with their 'adoring fans'.

The four friends gathered together and just gaped at one another in total silence for a second. They then fell into a big, sloppy group hug and screamed as loudly as they felt possible without drawing too much attention to themselves.

'Oh. My. God. You guys ROCKED!!' Finn cried when they pulled apart. Blaine and Rachel grinned and cuddled into one another. Kurt felt jealous as hell, but couldn't help but smile too.

'And you wanna know the best bit??' Rachel laughed shakily. 'We've been booked for a regular spot, every other Saturday!' She squealed again and kissed Blaine's cheek sloppily.

'We?!' Kurt exclaimed. 'You too, Blaine?'

'Absolutely. How could I say no to this face?' He nodded and cupped Rachel's cheek in his hand as she gave a demure pout and fluttered her eyelashes.

'Plus, I would've killed you if you did!' She laughed.

'Yeah, me too bro.' Added Finn, blushing a little when he realised what he'd said.

'Awwwww. Now you ...' Rachel said, pushing a finger into Finn's chest, '... are the sweetest little stud-muffin I ever did see!' And with that she reached her hands up around Finn's neck and pulled him towards her, planting her lips against his. Kurt glanced at Blaine and they laughed together at Rachel's brazenness, fanning Finn's face from both sides as the kiss continued, before whooping suggestively when it suddenly intensified.

'OK, well - they've certainly hit it off.' Blaine shouted above the noise of the newly cranked-up sound system.

'Hhmmmm.' Kurt smirked at the canoodling couple, shooting a glance in Blaine's direction and leaning in to make himself heard. ' You were ... astonishing, by the way.'

'Haha. It's easy when you know how.' Blaine replied bashfully. 'She's the star, not me.'

They looked again at Rachel and Finn, still locked together in a passionate clinch, and Blaine gestured towards a booth of chairs which had just been vacated behind Kurt. 'I think they may be a while.' He mouthed.

'You grab the seats, I'll get some drinks.' Kurt shouted and slipped around the side of Rachel and Finn as he headed towards the bar, giving Rachel's waist an encouraging squeeze as he went.

The lovebirds managed to prize their lips apart long enough to notice that their companions had moved, and they joined Blaine in the booth, giggling and muttering to each other when they were safely sat down. Finn cleared his throat awkwardly.

'Sorry, man' He shouted into Blaine's ear.

Blaine shrugged and hung his arm over his brother's shoulder affectionately, pulling his ear closer. 'What are you sorry for? She's gorgeous ... and amazing ... and how often does this happen - for either of us?!'

Finn gave a lop-sided smirk and turned back to Rachel, who was jiggling in her seat to the song currently playing.

'Dance with me.' She shouted.

'Oh god, I'm like the worst dancer ever.'

Rachel frowned and looked around Finn to his brother. 'Blaine! Dance with me!'

Blaine gave Finn a dig in the ribs, knowing that Rachel would have way more fun with him, even if he couldn't dance a step.

'Somebody daaaance with meeeeee!!!'

'Alright, alright.' Finn laughed, and allowed Rachel to drag him to the dance floor a few booths away.

Blaine blew a breath upwards into his warm face and chuckled to himself as he watched his brother's vague attempt at dancing. He really was seriously uncoordinated, but Rachel didn't look at all phased, laughing and swaying against him in time to the music. Blaine closed his eyes and sank his head back against his seat for a second.

'You OK?' Kurt asked when he returned with their drinks.

Blaine opened his eyes and blinked sleepily at his friend. 'Yeah. Long day.' he said, taking a very pink-looking drink from Kurt's hand and frowning at it before sipping it gingerly.

'Ooooh - better!'

'Thought you'd say that.' Kurt mused. ' Vodka-cranberry. Didn't want to embarrass Finn by asking him to get that for us earlier.'

'Awwww, you're sweet.' grinned Blaine, leaning towards Kurt and nudging him with his shoulder. Kurt grabbed his glass and clunked it against Blaine's before his mind wandered further and he leaned any closer himself. Something was telling him that an attempt at a drunken pass wasn't the way that he wanted to remember a first kiss with Blaine, should that be what was on the cards in their future.

'Cheers.'

'To new friends ... and loverrrs ... and all that!'

'Exactly!' Kurt grinned and felt his face flush again. He gulped down at least half of his drink in one go and gestured towards the dance floor. 'They seem to be getting on rather famously.' He chimed.

'God, yes. Good to see though.'

Kurt raised his eyebrows quizzically and Blaine continued. 'Finn's not always been so lucky in love. He was let down really badly by his last girlfriend, and it's made him kinda wary of relationships in general. But please don't tell him I told you that!'

Kurt shook his head quickly. 'You guys seem pretty tight though' He shouted above the music.

'Yeah, he's the best. We weren't always this close though ... it was just me and my mom until I was thirteen, and then all of a sudden she met this guy and we ended up moving in with him and his son.' He nodded towards Finn. 'We fought like cat and dog for the longest time, but then one day I guess we both just kinda ... grew up. We even share an apartment now. And my mom marrying Jeff was just the best thing she could ever have done, 'cos he treats her so well, and loves her so much. So damn much.'

Kurt smiled groggily at Blaine. It was nice to know a little more about the gorgeous guy sitting beside him. 'Your parents still together?' Blaine asked, sipping his drink.

'Nah. My mom died when I was pretty young.'

Blaine put a hand to his chest and looked terribly sad all of a sudden.

'Oh honey, no - please don't look like that. It was a long time ago, and I barely knew what was happening. Plus, it meant that I got to know my dad really well, and that was such a blessing.'

And did I just call you 'honey'?!

'Awww, I bet he's awesome.' Blaine grinned inanely, slurring ever so slightly and staring deeply into Kurt's eyes.

'He is.' Kurt chuckled and looked away shyly - he was finding it increasingly difficult to maintain eye-contact when in such close proximity to Blaine. 'And anyway, Rachel and I have been thick as thieves for years. She's pretty much all the woman I'm ever gonna need in my life.'

A new track began and Kurt hands suddenly shot into the air.

'Ohmygod, I LOVE THIS SOOOONNNNG!!!' He whooped.

''Don't You Want Me'? Really?!' Blaine mocked.

Kurt just nodded in time to the beat, fingers still in the air and eyes closed as he soaked up the music.

'Come on then.' Blaine shouted, taking one of Kurt's hands and shuffling out of the booth with him in tow, completely ignoring any signs of protest. He led the way to the dancefloor and turned to face Kurt when they were safely on it, smirking when he noticed that Kurt's eyes appeared to be transfixed on his lower body rather than his face.

'I'm up here, y'know'. He laughed, snapping a finger in front of Kurt's face and then reaching down to adjust his collar and straighten his vest a little. Kurt went from being mortified to somewhat stunned. 'Thanks.' he squeaked.

'You're welcome. Now dance!' Blaine ordered, and he began bouncing on the spot to the music, singing along at the top of his lungs. Kurt didn't need to be asked twice, and he copied his partner's actions, throwing in a shimmy every now and then for good measure. Before long the two men were breathless and dizzy, and hoarse from all the singing, but neither one was looking to leave the dancefloor any time soon.

They danced together to five more songs before finally admitting defeat. As much fun as it had been moving together, laughing wildly, their bodies occasionally touching and their eyes locking with such intensity from time to time, they were sweaty, exhausted and in desperate need of a drink. They returned to the booth only to find that it had been half taken-up by strangers, and the other half consisted of a lip-locked Finn and Rachel, who looked completely oblivious to what was going on around them.

'Water?' Kurt shouted.

'Love some. And a bathroom!'

'I think it's over there somewhere.' Kurt motioned to the area behind the dancefloor. 'You go do your ... stuff. I'll get the water.'

'Gotcha.' Blaine exclaimed, pointing both forefingers at Kurt and winking. Kurt laughed as Blaine gently stumbled away in search of the bathroom.

Oh, I love you.

They arrived back at the booth at the same time, and found that Rachel and Finn had not only surfaced for air, but appeared to be ready to leave. Rachel smiled at Kurt sheepishly as Finn leaned it to say something privately to Blaine. He nodded and gestured for them to lead the way towards the exit.

'My brother has plans for your friend.'

'I think my friend has plans for your brother.' Kurt replied, taking a swig from his Evian bottle.

'D'you know if she's noisy ... y'know ... in le boudoir?'

Kurt almost choked on his mouthful of water. He swallowed and and pulled a sympathetic face. 'Most of the time.' he said regretfully.

'Hoooooo ... long night for me, then.' Blaine sighed.

'Well, why don't you come back to my place?' Kurt offered, hoping the gesture didn't come out quite as creepily as it sounded in his head. It obviously had, as Blaine looked a little shocked and searched for something to say.

'... And sleep on the couch!' Kurt added hastily. 'It's pretty comfy.'

Blaine looked over at Finn and Rachel. They were getting all 'handsy' again.

'You're sure?'

'Positive.'

'Well, only if you're sure.'

'I am.'

'OK.'

'OK.'

They smiled at one another and followed Finn and Rachel out into the cold January air.
