Kurt was nestled in one of the window seats in the Dalton common room working on the set of homework he'd received from his previous class. He found it hard to maintain his focus as all he could think about was Mr. Anderson.
His voice, the way he said Kurt's name as he walked out the classroom. The way the light reflected off his hazel eyes. His slicked back hair and how smiled at Kurt making him want to melt into a puddle.
Kurt continues to do his work until a hand slams down onto his table, startling him.
"Kurt."
Kurt looks up to see Sebastian.
"Sebastian."
"Look," Sebastian sighs as he takes the seat next to Kurt. "About what happen earlier."
Kurt glances up from under his eyelashes "You mean the way you totally over reacted?"
"Yes, I over reacted and I'm sorry. It's just - I hate it when people don't listen and-"
"OK, Sebastian," Kurt holds up a hand for him to stop talking "Apology accepted," Sebastian smirks and relaxes back into his chair.
"Anyways, a little birdy told me that after I left, you and Mr. Anderson were getting quite cozy," Sebastian winks.
Kurt looks up again. "Who told you that?" He asks.
"I have spies everywhere."
"Chandler?"
"Yeah."
Kurt rolls his eyes. "We were just talking about why I was late this morning. He asked and I answered. Nothing more, I can assure you," He explains and Sebastian cocked an eyebrow.
"Nothing more?"
"No, what else would there be?" Kurt looks down at his work, knowing Sebastian could read him like a book and that was exactly what he tried to do but eventually, a few seconds later, gave up.
"OK Kurt, I guess Chandler was just being Chandler and making it sound a bigger deal than it actually was," Kurt looks up confused. What did he mean?
"What do you mean 'making it a bigger deal than it actually was'? What did Chandler say exactly?" Kurt asks quietly, looking down and fiddling with his pen.
"He just said that you two were chatting for quite a while and smiling at each other. A lot," Kurt seemed to redden at Sebastian's words.
"Like I said Sebastian, I was just talking to him about why I was late. And yes, Chandler did make it a bigger deal than it actually was, like usual. I seriously hate that guy."
"Hey watch it, that's my boyfriend you're insulting," Sebastian laughs.
Kurt frowned. "Since when?"
"Since when do you care?" Sebastian shoots back.
Kurt shrugged "Well, you just seem to have a new boyfriend, like every week."
"Jealous are we? Because if you want, we could go up to my room and er..." Sebastian's fingers start to make their way down Kurt's arm.
Kurt's rolled his eyes. He'd never let anyone touch him like that. Ever. Sebastian had tried and failed many times at this move and Kurt had no idea why he even bothered.
Sebastian moved his hand and placed it quickly and roughly on Kurt's waist. Kurt flinched and batted away Sebastian's hand immediately.
"No. No Sebastian," Kurt warned. "We've been through this before," Kurt says, blushing slightly.
Sebastian bit his lip. He wanted to say something. Something that he knew would definitly hurt Kurt's feelings but he didn't. Instead he smirked and got up out of his chair. "Well, Kurt, if you ever change you're mind, you know where I'll be," Sebastian winked, slapping Kurt on the back as he walked past.
Kurt took a deep breath and pinched the bridge of his nose in irritation before drawing his attention back to his work. He looked down and saw he'd written the name 'Anderson' on his paper. He realised he must have done it while he was daydreaming and was suprised Sebastian hadn't spotted it.
There was something about the name 'Anderson' he liked. He wondered what his name would sound like if it was his.
Kurt Anderson.
Kurt Hummel - Anderson.
Kurt Anderson - Hummel.
Stop it! Kurt mentally scolded himself for thinking so foolishly. For all he knew Mr. Anderson was straight and had a girlfriend. Kurt did hope that wasn't the case but knew what he was thinking was utter madness and completely wrong, but couldn't help the smile that crept onto his lips at the thought.
The next day had come rather quickly to Kurt's fortune and he couldn't wait to see his teacher.
As Kurt walked into the English classroom, he saw Mr. Anderson behind his desk, his head resting on one arm and his other hand contained a mug of coffee. Kurt walked closer to the desk spotting his teacher's timetable. He saw the name Blaine and automatically assumed that was his name.
Blaine. Blaine Anderson. Nice name. Kurt thought as he walked closer to Blaine's desk.
Kurt wasn't sure if the man was asleep or not and cleared his throat very loudly.
Blaine's head shot up off his arm and he murmed something that Kurt didn't quite understand. Kurt had to repress his laughter. Blaine's eyes widened as he saw Kurt stood a few feet away from his desk.
"Oh, um Kurt," He began while rubbing his eyes. He looked down at his watch. "Class doesn't start until another fifteen minutes yet?"
"Yes, I know, I have a free period now and I had nothing better to do. And I think I also had to prove a point," Kurt gives him a shy smile as he walks over to his desk and takes his seat.
Blaine nods. "Point proven."
Kurt sees the bag laid on Blaine's desk. "I see you didn't forget today," Kurt says, breaking the silence.
Blaine looks up. "Sorry?"
Kurt points to the bag.
"Oh, yeah," He laughs. "I had kept on reminding myself while I was driving here so I wouldn't forget. And there was no way I'd be able to let you get away with doing no work two days running."
Kurt frowned remembering his teacher's last words in class the day before. "So I guess we'll be starting Shakespeare today," A hint of hope that that wasn't the case in.
Kurt shrugs. "Well, it depends on the story," He replies.
"MacBeth?" Blaine says, taking a script presumably MacBeth, lifting it to show Kurt.
"Oh god, kill me now," Kurt moaned before letting his head fall onto the table a little over dramatically.
Blaine smirked. "It's not that bad."
Kurt sits up. "It's just I always find MacBeth and... well all of Shakespear so hard and confusing," Kurt moaned again. "I can never understand the words let alone the meaning behind the story."
"Well, like I said, it's not that bad... when you get used to the form of language," Blaine smirks. He gets up and walks over to Kurt's desk, script in hand.
"Here," Blaine walks around Kurt's desk and takes the vacant seat, placing the script infront of Kurt.
It all happened so quickly. He was so close to his teacher. Millimeters away to be exact and felt his breath hitch in his throat.
"I'll read a line from the script and see if you can work out the meaning, OK?" Blaine looks at Kurt for an answer.
Kurt nods, avoiding eye contact. "Um... y-yeah - sounds easy enough," Kurt says after taking a deep, steady breath.
"Well this line is pretty simple so it should be easy for you to understand, it's after MacBeth kills king Duncan and don't worry I'm not going to attempt to do a British accent because the really wouldn't work out well," Kurt smiled. He could feel his teacher's eyes on him but Kurt's eyes remained glued to the script.
"OK, here we go. 'Will all of great Neptune's ocean wash this blood clean from my hands? No, this my han-'" As Kurt listens he turns his head slightly, catching a glimpse of Blaine's eyes. Kurt sighed in contentment, being so close to this incredibly handsome teacher was making Kurt's stomach tighten. Kurt's eyes move down to Blaine's lips. He wondered what they'd taste like. Blaine's lips. He imagined they'd probably taste like coffee or something. Probably something sweet.
And then he saw them. Two of the most beautiful eyes he's ever witnessed staring back at him. Kurt could see Blaine's mouth moving but heard nothing and - wait a minute. Two of the most beautiful eyes he's ever witnessed staring back at him?
"Kurt?" Blaine asks, his eyes full of concern "Kurt, are you alright?" Blaine was staring into Kurt's eyes, watching them turn from sparkling and expressive to plain horrified.
Kurt immediately snapped back into reality. He just been staring at his teacher the way a sixteen year old girl would stare at Justin Bieber at one of his concerts.
"Oh god, um... I'm sorry - I blanked out... I um-" Kurt begins to stutter as his cheeks blush to very dark pink.
"Kurt, it's OK," Blaine soothed while placing a steady hand on Kurt's shoulder. The touch making Kurt's whole body shiver. It wasn't like how Sebastian had touched him, it was gentle and warm and it was making it difficult for Kurt to breath.
Kurt immediately missed Blaine's touch as he pulled his hand away.
"Are you feeling alright? You're looking a little pale," Blaine asks, trying to be as soothing as possible.
"It's um... j-just a headache," Kurt answers, the whole situation was giving him a headache.
"Well, I have some headache tablets in my bag, would you like me to get you one?" Kurt nods. "Hold on," Blaine gets up and rushes over to his desk, searching his bag for the medication.
"Here," Blaine hands Kurt two tablets. Kurt mouths him a thank you and takes the tablets.
"Do you think you'll be alright? You looked really pale back then," Blaine asks, picking up the script sheet but his eyes remaining on Kurt.
Kurt nods. "I'm sorry for being such a pain," He says quietly, avoiding eye contact.
"Oh no, it's no trouble," Blaine assures. "Anyway what sort of teacher would I be if I didn't take care of one of my students?" Blaine pats Kurt on the shoulder and walks over to his desk.
"Right," Kurt whispers breathlessly "You're my teacher."
Blaine stopped. He'd only just caught what Kurt had said and it puzzled him. What was that supposed to mean Blaine thought and glance over his shoulder at Kurt who was now resting his head on the desk. It made Blaine smile because Kurt was so cute. And that was a thought he'd have to keep to himself. For now.
