I was on a boat with some friends and I just couldnt get the thought of Blaine and Kurt on a cruise out of my mind. So here it is.
Thank you so much to my beta-reader Iaminsane for keeping me sane, kind of. And giving me some crazy ideas, the best parts of this story is all you.
Im reviewing the chapters now, and will re-upload them with minor changes.
So the New directions were going on a cruise with courtesy of Rachel's dads. Why they would use their money to send the whole glee-club on a one week cruise during fall break was more than Kurt could understand, but be as it may. Maybe it was to make sure that more people than Finn actually came? She wasn't exactly popular, but they wouldn't say no to a free cruise, even though Mr. Schuster joined them as well. Apparently they needed adult supervision and her dads didn't want responsibility for all of them. Or they wanted some time alone, something along those lines.
Most of the club looked forward to the cruise. They didn't necessarily like Rachel, but they all had their people in New Directions and got a free holiday with them. Well, everyone except Kurt that is. He did have Mercedes, but even though she was his best friend, that didn't really mean anything anymore. She'd grown so much closer to Tina and Artie since New Directions started, and the last couple of months she'd gotten closer to Quinn and Santana of all people. She fit in so much better now, and he just didn't.
He barely dared to think about it, and he certainly didn't say anything about it, that would make it to real, but he knew deep down that he was losing her. That hurt, especially since she was the only best friend he'd ever had.
But he would get over it, and things were a little better between Finn and him now. Finn still wasn't happy about their parents weeding, well he didn't mind the weeding or step-father, he just wasn't too happy about the brother he got. But, they were a little closer now, and at least Finn didn't bully. He'd never been a bad bully, but that didn't change the fact that he'd been one. Kurt could forgive that though, if Finn had only wanted to be friends. But he didn't want that. He accepted Kurt, and tolerated him, and he couldn't really ask for more.
To be tolerated was really all he could look forward to the following week, but it was a glee-club thing and it meant a lot to his dad. He worried too much and wanted Kurt to have friends and make friends, so he thought it was a great idea. So Kurt went on the stupid boat trip. Of course he did, he would do anything for his dad, especially after his heart attack. It gave his dad and Carole some time alone as well, and since they hadn't had an opportunity to go on their honeymoon yet it was something they really needed.
That didn't mean he liked the idea, especially since he had to room with the boys. They had two cabins for six people each and one for Mr. Schuster. They were six girls and six boys so they were, of course, divided by gender. Worst idea ever, for his sake anyway.
But he didn't have to spend too much time in the room, he could just run out and find a hiding place where he could read his fashion magazines and listen to his iPod in peace. If he did that, it might end up as an okay vacation after all.
