“Wake up sleepyhead.” Kurt groaned, he didn't want to wake up, he was so comfortable. So he just snuggled closer to the warm something beside him and closed his eyes tight.
“I'm very happy to have you here in the morning too Kurt, but we really should get up.” Not a something then, a someone. Kurt opened his eyes and starred right at Blaine's chest.
“Sorry,” he murmured as he pulled away.
“I don't mind, but I'm hungry and it's time for breakfast. Come on, the others already went down.” Blaine beamed at him and jumped out of bed. He skipped over to a closet and pulled out a pair of jeans and a t-shirt for himself then he went over to another one and pulled out some more clothes. “I don't think you're the type to walk around in your pyjamas, so you can borrow this from Nick, I think he's about your size.” He gave Kurt a pair of jeans and a purple tee. It wasn't something Kurt would have bought for himself, but it wasn't too shabby. “You can use the bathroom over there and I'll see you out here soon.”
“Yeah, thanks.” He went into the bathroom and came out about fifteen minutes later, changed and ready. He'd ‘borrowed' some gel that was in the bathroom, hopefully no one would mind, but he couldn't go out with his hair like that. Blain sat on their, no his, bed, waiting for him.
“Just leave your stuff here, you can come and collect it later.” Blaine smiled at him and he laid his clothes down on the bed.
“Thanks,” he said, looking into Blaine's eyes “really thank you, for everything. For letting me stay here, for being there for me and just for being you.” Blaine stood up and gathered him into a hug. “Anytime Kurt, just give me a call or a gesture or a look or anything and I'll be there to hug you and just be me. I'm actually quite good at that you know, at just being me.” Kurt laughed and Blaine grinned at him.
“But come now, I'm hungry and we need food.” He grabbed hold of Kurt's hand, pulled him out of the room and dragged him down the hall, not letting go before they arrived at the restaurant.
“Kurt!” He looked up in surprise and saw Finn, Noah and Sam running towards him with Santana and Brittany on their heels. He braced himself for the blame and anger he was sure would come, but instead he was pulled into a bone-crushing hug. “Oh Kurt, I was so worried about you,” Finn held him for a moment longer before he let him go and Noah hugged him next. “Don't do that again Princess. I swear you almost killed me.” He was dragged into Sam's arms after that. “Did you spend the whole night with the Warblers?” He nodded and Sam let go of him and walked over to Blaine. “Thanks for taking care of him bro. We owe you one.”
“Of course, but I did it for him, not for you.”
“Relax dude, we're only happy he's okay.” The two boys nodded at each other as Santana walked up to Kurt. “You gave us quite a scare Lady Hummel,” she said, giving him a short hug. “Your boys over here absolutely freaked out.”
“I'm sure they managed.” She just shrugged and stepped back so Brittany could jump forwards and throw his arms around him. “My poor little unicorn.” She hugged him close and hid her face in the crook of his neck. Kurt was completely taken aback, he'd never really been close to her. They'd had their moments like when she helped him with the single ladies dance and when they dated for a day, but except for that they barely even spoke. And now she was here, acting like they were the best of friends. Brittany never acted though; if nothing else you could always trust her to tell you her own truth.
“It's okay Brit,” he murmured, putting his arms around her.
“But my poor baby unicorn must have been so scared, all alone out in the cold, dark night.” She held him even closer and nuzzled against his cheek. “But at least the little birdies and your dolphin was there to help you.” She pulled a little away and kissed his nose before she let him go. Kurt looked at her in surprise, well she was certainly one of a kind.
“Dolphin?” Blaine looked confused over at them.
“Yes. Dolphins are gay sharks, didn't you know?” She asked as matter of factly as other people would have made a remark about the weather. “But now you must excuse us dapper dolphin, ‘cause we're stealing Kurtie back.”
“Sure, come talk to me later then.” Kurt nodded as Brittany grabbed his hand and pulled him away. “Now, we didn't tell Rachel ‘cause she's scary, so you can't tell her either Kurtie.”
“Okay Brit, I won't tell Rachel.”
“Pinky promise?” She held out her pinkie to him and he took it in his. “Pinky promise.”
“Yaay,” she gave him another hug and a kiss, on the cheek this time, before she dragged him over to their table. Kurt had no idea what was happening, but it seemed like someone had hit most of the people he knew in the head with a brick or something, making them lose parts of their personalities.
*
Kurt sat on deck, reading a magazine with Brittany's head in his lap, her soft snores filling the air. She'd acted like a mixture between a lost kitty and a devoted puppy all morning, never letting him out of sight. He hummed softly to himself, but stopped when he saw a curious sight. Noah, Finn, Sam and Santana came around a corner together with Blaine, Wes, Nick and Jeff. What in the world where they doing together? They didn't spot him, but stopped at a distance, seemingly deep in conversation. He really wanted to sneak over there and listen to them, but his lap was filled with kitty Brit and it would be selfish to wake her just so he could listen in on someone else's conversation. He was really curious though, and kept his eyes glued to the little group. They finally spotted him and the boys waved at him while Santana walked over. “Hey Lady Hummel.”
“Hey Satan.” She smiled at that and sat down beside him. “Your boys wants to talk to you, I can take care of Brit.” She stroke a hand through Brittany's blond hair and murmured in a soft voice “come baby, it's time to wake up.” She blinked and looked up at the Latina. “Is the sun mad at me?”
“It won't be if you get up and follow me now.”
“Does it like our lady kisses?”
“It loves our lady kisses Brit.”
“I have to go now Kurtie, don't lose yourself again.”
“I won't Brit. You girls have fun.”
“Oh we will,” Santana grinned at him as the girls' left “go talk to your boys now.” He got up and walked towards the group of boys. He was mostly curious, but a little scared as well. What would be so important that the seven of them and Santana joined forces?
“Hi,” he said as he came up beside them.
“Hi Princess, come stand with me and dapper-boy here.” Noah grinned at him and he went to stand between him and Blaine. “What's happening?”
“Well,” Finn began “we were a bit worried about you bro, so we had a little talk with your Warbler friends here.”
“And they were much cooler than we thought they would be,” Sam added, sharing a smile with Blaine and Nick. Kurt looked confused between them, what did he miss?
“Anyway,” Finn continued “we wondered about your nightmare, do you often have those?”
Kurt felt his heart sink, so that's what they wanted to talk about. “I usually have nightmares four or five nights out of a week, sometimes more.” He sighed. “They're rarely as bad as the one I had last night though, that was one of a kind.”
“I'm sorry bro. I should have known, I should have done something.” Finn looked sincerely sorry, but Kurt just shook his head. He didn't need their pity, not over this anyway. “It doesn't matter.”
“But it does. It's not supposed to be like that. And it's ruining you, so it matters. You matter Kurt, and your happiness is important.” Kurt looked at him in surprise, he sounded like Burt in that moment, almost unsettling much.
“And we figured the ugly faces of Finn and me isn't exactly what you'd want to see after a bad dream anyway,” Noah added “so we came to an agreement with these guys.”
“Yeah,” Wes acknowledged “it worked out so well when you came to us last night, so if you want to you can come and sleep in the Warbler-room for the rest of the trip. Or for as long as you feel like it.”
“No pressure though,” Blaine quickly added “only if that would make you more comfortable. Kurt's heart skipped a beat. Was this really happening? He turned to face Blaine, who gave him a reassuring smile. “So I can sleep with you every night?” Blaine nodded and Kurt smiled “great.” It wasn't until Nick and Noah burst out laughing that he understood what he just said. Well damn. He didn't mean it that way.

The boat had a huge swimming-pool, of course it had. He'd been prepared for that, he wasn't going to swim though. Noah had seen his bare back that was enough; he wouldn't let anyone else do that. He changed into a pair of shorts and a t-shirt, but the tee was not coming off. What he hadn't prepared for was the group of nice funny guys he'd made friends with. The group that looked very good in their swimsuits. Especially Blaine. Blaine looked unfairly good, with well-defined muscles and a nice skin tone. Not that Kurt looked or anything, he just noticed, he was a gay guy with eyes after all. It wasn't because Blaine looked just like a hot guy ought to in Kurt's opinion; it was just that he objectively speaking was a very handsome guy. Who are you trying to fool? Of course it's because you think he's an extremely good looking, especially like now when he comes towards you with water trailing down his whole body. Wait, he's coming here? Now?!
“Hey Kurt.”
“H-hey.” Great, way to sound cool and confident. “You having fun?”
“Yeah the water's great. You should try it.”
“I'm not really that found of swimming.” Blaine gave him a look as if to say ‘who doesn't like swimming?' “Come on, it'll be fun. You don't have to swim, you could just come in to the water and help us drown Wes.”
“As tempting as that sounds I'm still not getting into the pool.” Blaine pouted and looked at him with an adorable pair of puppy eyes, which he pointedly ignored. “Fine, if you want to be a spoil-sport. But then I'm staying here for a while and you have to give me a hug.”
“Why?” He really didn't mind hugging Blaine, it was just the way he said it that put him off.
“'Cause water or no water, you're still getting wet.”
“Wait! No, that's not fair.” He got up and tried to get away, but Blaine was too fast and dragged him close. “You're mine now Kurt, and I'm not letting go.”
“Gaah Blaine, you're ruining my clothes.”
“I'm sure they'll manage.” Kurt elbowed him in the stomach, though it didn't work out so well as Blaine still held him close. It didn't matter, he knew that he might get a little wet when he dressed, so he'd picked an outfit that could handle that.
“I'm sitting down now.” That was the only warning Kurt got before Blaine sat down, dragging him into his lap. He struggled for a bit, but soon gave in and leaned against him. He let out a heavy breath, closed his eyes and smiled. Not because it was Blaine holding him, well a little bit because of that. Mostly it was just because people usually did their best to avoid him and here was a guy who just touched him and hugged him and dragged him into his lap like it was the most natural thing in the world.
“What are you thinking about?” Blaine murmured.
“The wonders of human contact.”
“That can be quite amazing when they're the right people.”
“Yeah,” Kurt bit his lip carefully, Blaine actually seemed to understand. Not many people did, and that made it even more special.
“You two look so adorable.” Kurt looked up meeting Cameron's eyes.
“Yeah,” Richard supplied “you're gonna end up as the new Niff if you're not careful. We can't really call you new Niff though, that sounds stupid.”
“We'd call them Klaine,” Andrew remarked, coming up behind the twins. “Is it an official thing now or are you guys just fooling around?”'
“We're just having a bit of fun,” Cameron said “they're really adorable though.”
“Well, I can't speak for myself,” Blaine joined in “but yes, Kurt certainly is.” A blush crept up Kurt's cheeks and he swallowed hard. He wasn't used to compliments, and certainly not hot guys calling him adorable.
“Anyway could you come with us for a moment Kurt?” Richard nodded between himself and his brother and reached out a hand. Kurt took it and was pulled out of Blaine's arms and to his feet. He waved to Blaine and Andrew as he followed the twins along the poolside. “So what's up?” He asked when they stopped.
“Richard here noticed that you haven't been in the pool all day?”
“Yeah, what's up with that Kurt?”
“I just don't feel like swimming today.”
“Not good enough,” the twins said in unison, identical evil grins on their faces. With that they pushed him and he fell into the pool with a surprised yelp. The water was warm and except for the shock it was quite nice. He swallowed some water though and re-surfaced as soon as he managed. Another surprise awaited him at the poolside. Richard sat on the ground in front of him, holding a hand to his bloody nose. An angry Noah was in front of him, restrained by Finn and Flint.
“Dafuq dude, what's your problem?” Richard spat at him.
“My problem?” Noah growled “my problem?! You're my problem you stupid, ugly little twat,” Cameron sat down by his brother, giving Noah a murderous glare. “What did he ever do to you?”
“This isn't about me you stinking weasel, this is about Kurt.” That shut them up for a moment before Cameron spoke again “we were just fooling around.” Noah looked like he was about to explode, so Kurt swam towards them and got out of the pool, it was time for him to intervene.
“Noah,” he murmured, walking over to him and putting a hand on his chest “it's okay. Really.” Noah looked down at him, his eyes softening a bit, but still hard and angry.
“No it's not. These guys just met you, they don't know what you've been through. And then they just come here and act like everything's okay and they can do whatever they want. That might be something they can do to each other, but they can't do that to you, not after everything that's happened.” Kurt smiled at him, it was kind of nice to have someone stand up for him, though it wasn't necessary at the moment and he didn't approve of violence.
“The key thing here is that they didn't know Noah, they didn't mean anything by it. I'm thankful to you for trying to protect me, but Richard and Cameron doesn't want to hurt me.” Noah looked at him for a while before he nodded. “Let me go,” he said to Finn and Flint and they did. He brought his hands up to Kurt's cheeks and held him still. “So you're okay then?”
“Yeah, I'm okay.” Noah nodded again and dropped his hands. Kurt smiled and turned around, reaching out a hand towards Richard. “You okay?”
“Yeah,” Richard took his hand and Kurt helped him up. “What was that about?” He nodded towards Noah. “He's just trying to protect me.”
“Yeah, I got that. Normally I would be mad at him, but I guess he had his reasons. If I went too far, well I'm sorry Kurt.”
“Yeah, me too,” Cameron said with an embarrassed smile. “It's okay guys. I was just surprised is all.” He smiled at them before he turned back to Noah and gave him a hug. “Thank you anyway Noah, but just figure out what's happening before you hit next time, okay?”
“Yeah, maybe.” Kurt shook his head lightly and turned back to the twins as Wes, David and Blaine came up to them. “Is everything okay here?” Wes asked, looking between the twins, Kurt and Noah. “Yeah, we worked it out,” Cameron answered in a hushed voice. “Richard?”
“Yeah, all's good now, and we got to know each other a little better. We've got some boundaries in place.”
“Good.”
“Kurt?” Blaine looked at him with questioning eyes. “Yeah, all's well.” He smiled at Blaine who beamed back at him. “But, as I'm already soaking, I think I'll join you in the pool, if you still want to?”
“Of course I do. Finally taking the tee of then?”
“Nope.”
“We all know what you're after Blainey, but Kurt is a classy guy, he won't give it up that easily. You'll have to wait until at least the third date,” Richard commented before he, Cameron and David started laughing. Kurt blushed at first, but then he laughed as well because Blaine gave Richard a bitch look, an actual bitch look and it was amazing.
“Come on,” Kurt said and grabbed Blaine's hand before he jumped into the pool, pulling him with him. Wes, David and the twins joined them shortly thereafter and they fooled around for a while. Nick, Jeff and Sam followed after a few minutes. Sam was, apparently, becoming quite friendly with the Warblers. They had fun in the water for quite some time and, barely, managed not to drown Wes. Kurt hadn't been in a pool or the ocean or anything like that since the summer before high school, so he made sure to make the best of it. Who knew when he would get, and take, the opportunity again?
*
Noah and Sam helped him move his things to the Warbler room that evening. Finn wasn't around as he tried to calm Rachel down. She lost it completely when she found out what Kurt was doing. She forgot everything about being nice at that point and started screaming at him for being an idiotic gullible traitor. So Finn took her away and he hadn't seen them since. She'd probably calm down eventually, but for now it was just as well to have her somewhere else. Santana and Brittany joined them as they knocked on the cabin door. “Brit and I wanted to see how the Garglers live.”
“Warblers.”
“Whatever.” The door opened, revealing the grinning faces of Nick and Jeff. “Kurtie!” Jeff grabbed his hand and dragged him into the room.
“That's a lot of luggage,” Nick commented as the others walked past him.
“Yeah,” Ethan laughed “good thing we cleared you a closet. Sam warned us about your fashion.” Kurt gave Sam a weird look, but just shrugged it off as they put his bags down by the closet Ethan pointed at. “I just have good fashion sense and wear a lot of layers, therefore many clothes.”
“Yeah, yeah Lady Hummel. No one really cares about that.” He gave Santana an ugly look, but she just continued. “what we do care about is how a group of dapper boys got this amazing room.”
“Well,” Richard grinned “that has an easy explanation. You forgot the key word in that description, we're rich dapper boys.” Santana looked at him for a while before she started laughing and turned to Kurt. “You better secure yourself one of these guys Lady Lips. They can buy you a lot of happiness.”
“I'm not going to date someone ‘cause they're rich Satan. When I get a boyfriend it's going to be because I like him for who he is and because he treats me well.”
“You're so adorable I just might throw up.”
“As long as you don't do it on me.”
“Sorry Porcelain, can't make any promises.” Kurt rolled his eyes, went over to Blaine and sat down next to him on his, no their, bed. Blaine smiled at him, one of the sweet smiles that only he could make. “Hello stranger, invading my bed now, are we?”
“Yeah, it looked like the most comfortable.”
“Oh it is, that's why I chose it for us. You deserve the best after all.” A light blush covered Kurt's face and he looked down at his hands.
“Is he your dolphin now Kurtie? Like Santana is my lady lover?”
“No Brit, he's not my dolphin, we're just friends.” He looked up at her, even redder now.
You should hurry up then, he's a cute dolphin. And,” she looked at Blaine now “Kurt's a magical unicorn, he'll not be around forever so you should kiss him before he flies away.” The room erupted in laughter and Kurt blushed fiercely, hiding his face in his hands. This lead Blaine to pull him into a hug so he could hide in his chest instead. That might not help his cause, but the gesture was highly appreciated.
“I'll keep that in mind,” Blaine replied to Brittany and she nodded solemnly.
“Well,” Santana cut in “as much as I'd love to embarrass Hummel some more, Brit is being really cute now so we have to go.” Brittany looked confused at her and Santana moved closer to whisper in her ear. “Oh,” Brittany exclaimed as she pulled away “bye birdies, dolphin, Kurtie. We're going to go make lade love now.”
“Guess that's our cue to leave as well,” Puck grinned “have a good night Princess.”
“Yeah, bye Kurt,” Sam waved at him as the four of them headed for the door. Kurt waved a hand in their general direction, not ready to come out of his comfortable hiding place just yet.
