Author's Notes:

It had been happening for as long as he could remember. From the first time he opened his little mouth to spit out a tentaitive "Dada", it had always been there. Now it was just all the more embarassing. He'd wished he could just turn it off, but as he'd learned from the time he was three, there was no chance of that happening.

He walked into the classroom, looking around at the students in the room trying to find a reputable open seat, next to someone who looked like they might be a decent person.

That's when he spotted him.

He sat alone at his own table, the other seat where a partner was supposed to be, tragically empty. His hair was gelled back a little too much, and his school issued red and navy blue tie looked like it was a little too tight, but nevertheless he looked flawless.

He adjusted his blazer and made his way over to the seat, the attendant of the seat beside the one he was heading towards, looked up with a smile. Okay, control yourself.

"I-Is Th-Is S-S-Seat taken?" Great. So much for that. At least I got the last word out.

The boy looked up from his text book with a small smile gracing his cheeks, his hazel eyes glowed more than fifty different colors within them.

"No! Go ahead." He gestured to the chair. "Sit."

Kurt opted to thank him with a polite nod of his head rather than saying it.

"I don't mean to be rude but, are you new here? I don't think I've seen you before."

Kurt only nodded.

"Oh okay! Well," He put out his hand, in which Kurt took gently and shook. "I'm Blaine."

"K-Kurt." He mentally kicked himself for speaking again.

"It's nice to meet you Kurt, I'm Blaine. Have you had anyone show you around here yet?" He waited to see if the other boy responded, he finally saw a shake of his head. "Oh well I guess I know what I'm doing after class today. There's no way you can go around here not knowing where everything is. And you totally have to find some extracurricular to do because there's no way we don't have something you'll like, we have so much to do there's soccer and-"  He stopped at the sound of the teacher in the front of the class beginning to start his lesson.

"I'll explain later." He whispered with a charming smile.

And he did. He took Kurt all around the school, showing him every classroom and corner. He even invited him to sit with him and his friend's at lunch. Which he took, the only time he talked being when he told them his name, only stuttering the fourth time he had to tell a new friend. That time it was a blonde headed boy named Jeff who seemed to shrug it off without even a questioning look.

The next month went by fairly quietly on the campus. Mostly because he couldn't afford to ruin what ever it was he had with Blaine by freaking him out with his stutter. They were together practically all the time. He'd even spent an entire weekend in Blaine's dorm watching a two day marathon of a combination of their favorite movies.

"Didn't you say you sing?" Blaine suddenly brought up at lunch on a warm April day.

"U-Used t-to." He shrugged, taking another bite of his salad.

"You should audition for the warblers! I do it! And Nick and Jeff do it too, they'd love to hang out and it would be really cool if we could all be in something toget-"

"I-I don-don't any-m-more. Okay?!" Kurt snapped. Blaine's eyes traveled back down to his food, guiltily. Kurt looked over at him, his heart swooping at the sad look in his eyes. His guilt coming in at full force.

"I'm S-s-sor-rr-rry."  he mumbled. Blaine looked back up at him.

"It's okay. I shouldn't have pushed."

"It-It's just th-th-that I-I-I Haven-t-t w-w-anted to sing other than in the b-back-gr-ground."  He picked at his salad again.  "The sh-show cho-choir at my old scho-school was welcoming b-but I-I didn't wanna r-ruin thi-things for th-them at competitions. And th-the last thi-thing I W-Wanna do here is me-mess things up h-here for you g-guys."

"Kurt." He said softly, his hand making its way across the table to grab the other boy's. "You wouldn't ruin anything. I'm sure they'd welcome you with open arms. I like to think I have so far." He smiled shyly.  He watched the other boy tentatively waiting for an answer or sign of some sort.

"So?"

"You m-might see m-me at the au-aud-auditions." A small smile.

"Yes!" Blaine cheered, a smile glowing on his face. He jumped up from the table and hugged the other boy who was still in seat.

"You r-really a-are something B-Blaine Warbler."
