Blaine sat on the couch with his hands placed in his lap, looking down at them nervously.
"Kids!" Emily Anderson called up the stairs and waited.
The noise coming from down the stairs didn't sound like a group of well-behaved children coming down to see what their mom wanted, it sounded more like a stampede of elephants chasing one another. Once all of them were at the bottom of the stairs Emily looked to make sure all of them were standing at the landing.
Alex, Breanne, Everette, Noah, Brenden, Kaylee, and Samantha stood at the foot of the stairs. Liam sat contently next to Blaine on the couch busying himself with a toy of some sort.
"Okay. I'm sure Blaine has told you all, but Kurt is coming over tonight to meet us, I've met him before and he's a very nice boy, but he wants to meet you kids, and I'm sure Blaine wouldn't appreciate it if you guys scared him away."
"Whatever do you mean mother?" Brenden giggled as the rest of his siblings revisted the time Breanne brought her boyfriend over and all of the kids played different pranks on him including everything from pouring salt in his drink at dinner and attempting to push him in the pool while fully clothed when they all stood outside.
Emily and Breanne glared at them. "I mean don't do that. Kurt really means a lot to Blaine."
Blaine's cheeks redened as he stared down at the floor.
"So I mean it, best behavior. Cooper will be here in thirty minutes too to meet Kurt, so you guys go get ready."
All of the kids hurried up the stairs to prepare for their guest. Emily sat down on the couch pulling Liam onto her lap. She ran a hand through her sons hair and smiled at him.
"They'll be nice, they know how happy you are, they wont ruin this for you."
"I'm just worried he'll be overwhelmed."
"He'll be fine, when he gets here he'll be met by ten happy and well behaved Anderson children, including you, now go get ready and I'll tell you when he's here." She gave him a small smile.
Blaine walked up down the stairs to his basement bedroom with his fingers crossed.
