"Kurt Hummel." 

The entire crowd went silent and all eyes fell on the pale boy. His grip on his boyfriend's hand tightened more than he thought was humanly possible. He was sure he'd heard something crack. He loostened his grip only to realize that Blaine's grip was just as tight. He looked over and began to tell the younger boy to let go so that he could walk to the front of the crowd. Before he could open his mouth, Blaine's screaming was ringing in his ears. 

I volunteer. 

The gaurds started to come around Kurt to take him up to the stage. He closed his eyes and prayed to whatever was out there that this was just a bad dream and that he would wake up soon. He opened his eyes when he heard a gaurd yell. He saw the curly haired boy's arm drawn back and the gaurd was holding his now bloodied nose. 

"Don't touch him." He heard Blaine snarl. 

"We have to take him. He got picked." 

"I told you. I volunteered." 

The next thing Kurt knew, he was watching Blaine walk up to the front.

"What did you tell Kurt when you volunteered for him?" the Blue haired man who was interviewing Blaine infront of a million people, asked. As if he knew what it was going to be like.  His smile and the optimism always in his eyes made Blaine want to throw up. 

"I told him I'd try my best to win, for him." 

"And try you will." He said quietly but confidently. 

Blaine's eyes traveled out to the crowed of people who was watching him be interviewed and a pair of grey eyes caught his. Kurt stood in the middle of the crowd, his best friend Rachel holding his hand. Tears streaming down his face. Blaine blinked and hoped that this wouldn't be the last time he saw that face.
