There were a few things in life Blaine couldn't stand seeing, one of them being his daughter crying. So when he walked back to Karlie's room to see her standing, holding her self up by the side of the crib crying, it broke his heart. He knew exactly what it was. Kurt normally put her to bed, every night actually. But tonight Rachel called begging Kurt to come over because she needed to practice for an audition and Finn wasn't helping. So Blaine didnt hesitate in telling Kurt that he could go over and that he would handle Karlie, but he didn't intend on Kurt being gone this late. Or Karlie being so upset.
He stood infront of her crib trying his best to console her, he picked her up walking around the room with her while her sobs turned into tiny whimpers. He leaned down to put her back in the crib when she started to cry again, huge, tear filled, green eyes stared up at him. He sighed and held her for a little while longer, wondering what time it really was. He went through the routine three more times before sighing and laying her back down in the crib hoping she would wear herself out and go to sleep. He stood watching her and couldn't stand the sound of her cried anymore.
Without any sort of second thinking he climbed over the side of the crib, his knee's practically touching his chest. The crying toddler put her head on his chest and curled up on his chest, whimpers slowly turning into steady breaths. Blaine ran his hand up and down her back trying to assure that she was asleep. He moved to stand up and Karlie only burried her face beeper into his torso.
The manuever continued until Blaine finally realized he wasn't going anywhere. He held his daughter closer trying to stop her crying from his last attempt to move.

He woke up to Kurt gently running his hands through Blaine's unruly girls. "What happened?" Kurt asked, a small smile on his face.
"S'wouldn't sleep without you, s'I compromised." he yawned looking down at the sleeping eleven month old on his chest.
"M'back hurts." He closed his eyes. Kurt leaned down and kissed him on the head "I'm sure it does." He laughed a little.
"Had to." He put his hand on Karlie's back feeling her staeady breathing. Kurt laughed and kissed his husband on the forehead and walked out of the room.
