"Daddy?" Birdie asked from the kitchen table, where she was sitting to work on her multiplication worksheet from school.
"Yes baby?" Blaine turned to bring his attention from the pasta he was watching on the stove to his daughter.
"How do you know when you're in love?"
Blaine felt his jaw drop. Birdie was way too young for a boyfriend.
"Earth to daddy.." She waved a hand from over at the table.
He sighed and began reluctantly, what was the harm? She was eight, it was a harmless crush.
"Well, you feel like you do after you drink hot chocolate, all warm inside." He walked closer to her. "Or maybe, you feel butterflies in your tummy." He tickled her sides, causing her to squirm. She moved involuntarily closer to him, giggling loudly.
"Daddy!" She squealed.
A few large story apartment buildings over, Kurt was hunched over his desk in the den, trying to draw out a design that was due in two days that he hadn't had the first clur of what to do. He was thrown out of his thoughts by the sound of his seven year old son tapping his TOMS clad foot on the floor in the doorway.
"Do you need something buddy?"
"Yeah.." Max walked into the room, not hesitating in climbing up in his dad's lap. Kurt moved a strand of chesnut brown hair off of his forehead.
"Did you wanna talk about something?" Max nodded.
"I want to ask a girl to be my girlfriend, I don't know how to though.."
Kurt coughed, before regaining his breath. He was seven! What did he mean with girlfriend?
"Who is this girl?"
"Her name is Birdie, and she's in my class and daddy, she's beau-ti-fill!"

"That's him Daddy!" Birdie jabbed at Blaine's side and pointed at a slender little boy on the other side of the room. "That's Max! He's so cute!" She squealed.
Blaine laughed at his daughter, examining the little boy, already planning the questions of "What are you're intentions with my daughter?" . His eyes traveled from the little boy to the man standing next to him. His long legs were clad in tight black jeans, and he wore a form-fitting, blue button up shirt. His hair was perfectly in place and his eyes were the most enchanting blue Blaine had ever seen. He felt his own jaw drop out of it's refined smile. He quickly clicked his teeth together before Birdie began to pull him in the direction of the man.
"Max!" Kurt heard someone call, both he and his son looked up to see Birdie dragging her dad next to her.
"Birdie!" Max called, running over to hug her, like he hadn't just seen her hours earlier in class.
Kurt's glanced at the little girl, already mapping out all of the ways he wouldn't let her hurt his son. He looked back up to see the man that was next to her. He looked a little flustered in his face, but other than that he looked very well put together. He wore a pair of dark blue jean, highwaters, and a yellow polo shirt complimented with a black bowtie with green accents on it. His hair was gelled back, but still had some give in the front to show that there were still curls in it.
"Dad!" Max pulled on Kurt's arm again, snapping Kurt out of his trance. "This is Mr Blaine." He yanked out his dad's hand so that the other man could shake it.
"Hi." Blaine breathed out. "My name's Blaine."
"Kurt." He smiled. "It's nice to meet you."
