At six in the morning, Kurt placed the box of cupcakes right in front of the door to Supercakes. Five of Blaine’s favorite, chocolate, were lined up spelling ‘SORRY’ in frosting.

At ten the box appeared outside of the door to Elizabeth’s, footprint clearly in the middle of the white box and frosting leaking out the sides.

“I’m going to help,” Santana announced when Kurt brought the box back in, frowning.

“Because you got me into this mess?”

“Because I’m tired of seeing your big sad eyes,” She sighed. “Also because the whole wife thing is the most interesting thing to happen here in forever and I need my drama to live.”

“How can you help?” Kurt rolled his eyes and Santana raised a finger.

She shimmied a little and pulled up her dress so it ended just above her legging clad ass and pulled down her neck line so it was giving a good view of her cleavage.

She stalked across the street, not at all phased by the slush lining the street. Sam glanced up from where he was fixing some of the holiday decorations and froze, eyes wide.

Kurt watched as Santana put a hand on her hip and Sam leaned forward slightly. She motioned back to the store and with just a few more words, was walking back to Elizabeth’s with Sam in tow.

“He’ll talk to you,” Santana perched on one of the stools lining the window bar.

“Uh…yeah…” Sam frowned. “Make it quick though.”

“First, I’m sorry for what I did.”

“Is that all you wanted to say?” Sam raised his eyebrow. “Then I should go.”

“Look,” Kurt held out the picture which Sam took with a sigh.

As soon as he looked down at the picture he froze, eyes widening.

“That woman, Jenny, wants a cake made for their fifth wedding anniversary,” Kurt said and Sam’s jaw dropped open.

“Blaine and Remy have been dating for six years,” His voice was soft. “Holy shit, Remy is married. I knew he was a good for nothing creepy douchebag!”

            “Right!” Santana waved a hand.

“Holy shit,” Sam slowly sunk down into a chair. “How the hell are we going to tell him?”

“Well…he wont talk to us,” Kurt shrugged.

“No way in hell am I doing it on my own! Can you imagine that conversations? ‘Hey bud, do you know the asshole you’re dating that I hate? He’s married.  To a woman.’”

“Sounds pretty good to me,” Kurt shrugged and Santana nodded.

“I’m not going by myself,” Sam shook his head.

“I mean…do we even have a right to say anything?” Kurt bit his lip. “Should we talk to Remy first?”

“We don’t owe that jerk anything,” Santana spoke up.

“We have to tell him now,” Sam handed back the picture. “He’s been telling me that Remy is going off on business for a few days.”

“Or to go celebrate his anniversary,” Kurt sighed. “I can close up shop for a bit.”

“Let’s go, I can’t stand the idea of him being with that guy one more minute,” Sam pulled him out of the shop, pausing only to let Kurt flip the sign on the door to closed. He pulled them across the street and into Supercakes.

“No!” Blaine shouted as soon as Kurt stepped in.

“Blaine, this is important,” Sam raised his hands.

“No,” He scowled. “I don’t know what they told you but…”

“Remy is cheating on you!” Kurt blurted out and Blaine paused, blinking owlishly.

            “No he’s not.”

“He’s married…has been for five years,” Kurt sighed and pulled out the picture, handing it to him.

Blaine stared blankly down at the picture, not moving a muscle.

“His wife came to speak to me about making a cake for their anniversary,” Kurt felt his heart break a little at the look on Blaine’s face. “You didn’t…didn’t know about this did you?”

            “No,” Blaine breathed.

            “Blaine…”

A cold gust of air made them all glance up to see Remy kicking snow off his shoes.

            “Hey babe!” He grinned.

“Hey,” Blaine stared blankly at him.

“I just wanted to spend time with you before I left for work,” He beamed and walked up, holding his hands up for a hug.

“That’s nice,” Blaine face twisted into a smile as he slammed the photo into Remy’s chest. “Tell your wife hi for me.”

Remy went white and scrambled to pick up the picture.

“I can explain,” He stuttered out.

“What? How you are about to celebrate your five year anniversary when two weeks ago we celebrated our six years,” Blaine was trembling faintly. “You proposed to her when we were together.”

            “Honey…”

“Don’t lie to me!” Blaine screamed suddenly.

“I had been dating Jenny for a year,” He whispered and Blaine took a step back turning watery eyes to the ceiling. “But I love you. Nothing has to change.”

“Yeah, you can just go back to your wife and I can be the guy you fuck on the side,” He snapped back.

Kurt felt like he was stuck in the most uncomfortable situation ever and from Sam’s face he knew that he was feeling the same. Santana’s eyes were flashing and her head was snapping from side to side like she was watching the most fascinating tennis match ever.

            “We can work through this.”

“No we can’t,” Blaine’s voice shook. “I loved you.”

            “And I love you!”

“You liked fucking me behind your wife’s back!” Blaine exploded and everyone took a step back.

“Maybe we can talk about this on our own,” Remy rubbed the back of his neck.

“No, no, no,” Blaine grinned, showing all this teeth. “Sweetheart we are discussing this right here. I do have a few questions. Did you ever think about telling me? We’re you just going to dangle the promise of a proposal and moving in together in front of me forever so I wouldn’t leave? Were you planning on having kids with your wife? Would you ever tell them about the guy you used for sex on the side?”

            “Baby please!”

“ANSWER MY QUESTIONS!” Blaine exploded and Remy took a step back.

            “I…I can’t…”

“You should go home,” Blaine was blinking furiously.

            “Let’s talk about this.”

“No!” Blaine shoved Remy back out of the door, pushing until he slipped on a patch of ice and fell into the muddy slush. “Go home because once I call and tell your wife what you’ve been doing you will need to pack a bag.”

“Blaine…” Remy was still pale. “Don’t tell Jenny.”

“Don’t tell her what? That her husband is a cheating sleazebag?” Blaine snarled. “Tough.”

“I’m so sorry,” Blaine jumped away from the pleading, muddy hands grabbing for his jeans.

“I’m sorry too. Sorry you wasted six years of my life,” He kicked more slush on Remy. “Now get the fuck away from my shop.”

He spun on his heel, swept past the shell shocked group and vanished upstairs.

Sam finally moved forward and locked the door, waving at Remy with a smug smile. The shop was completely silent for a long moment before Sam hurried up the stairs to Blaine’s apartment.

“That was insane,” Santana breathed. “So…do we like leave?”

“I don’t know…what do you do when you bring the news that makes someone’s life crash around them?” Kurt sighed.

“Let’s head back to the shop,” Santana fidgeted. “I feel awkward and awkward is never attractive.”

Biting his lip, Kurt and Santana walked through the snow and entered Elizabeth’s. The rest of the afternoon he was hardly able to concentrate without looking across the street at the window.

Finally, when the day was over he boxed up six chocolate cupcakes and walked to Supercakes.

“Blaine?” He asked, pressing the intercom button to Blaine’s apartment. “It’s Kurt, can I come up?”

He waited until he heard the loud buzz and a click before he was able to walk through the empty shop and up the stairs. Kurt took in a deep breath and knocked on the door, jumping when there was a loud thud and scrambling sound before the door swung open.

Blaine had always dressed casual but he was always put together. His superhero themed shirts that were part of the uniform of Supercakes we paired with nice jeans and his hair was always neatly gelled.

Now, he was dressed in an oversized New York hoodie, plaid pajama pants that completely covered his bare feet and his hair was in messy curls.

“Hey,” He blinked hazily up at Kurt, eyes red rimmed.

“Hi,” Kurt gave him a little smile. “I brought cupcakes.”

Blaine stood silently for a long moment before grinning goofily and reaching an unsteady hand up to tap Kurt’s nose.

            “You’re a cupcake.”

“Are…are you drunk?” Kurt raised his eyebrows.

“Oh my God Kurt,” Sam poked his head into the foyer. “Thank God.”

“What happened?” He stumbled, trying to regain his balance when Blaine threw his arms around his neck, nearly punching him in the face.

“He’s downed like all the Kahlua we had in the kitchen,” Sam sighed. “Then he started in on the tequila we use for the margarita cupcakes.”

            “Nice combination.”

“Yeah…he’s going to puke soon,” Sam made a face. “Do you mind staying here with him? I mean…Blaine’s a big boy and all but I’m a little worried about him.”

“Go home,” Kurt pushed him. “I’ll make sure he wont choke on his own vomit. It’s the least I can do.”

Sam gave him a smile and said goodbye to Blaine before heading out.

“There’s McDonald’s chicken nuggets on the counter with some fries. It’s Blaine’s usual drunk food,” He called out as he shut the door.

“Hey Blaine?” Kurt asked as Blaine still had his arms wrapped tightly around him. “How about we get you comfortable on the couch? I’ll get you some food and water and we can watch tv.”

“Mmkay,” Blaine mumbled and Kurt helped him stumble back to the living room and on the couch. He rushed into the kitchen, grabbed a twenty piece nugget pack, some fries, and a few bottles of water before joining a quiet Blaine.

“I was mad at you,” He said slowly, words slurred.

“I know,” Kurt handed him a bottle of water. “I’m so sorry for what I did.”

“I mean I was mad at you but it’s not like you were married and out…out…” His lip quivered and tears filled his eyes.

            “It’s okay,” Kurt shifted closer.

“No it’s not,” Blaine sniffed. “I was so, so in love with him. I did anything for him. He told me that I should drop out of school to spend more time with him and I did. Oh God…I’m such a pathetic fuck.”

            “No you’re not.”

“I am through,” Blaine grabbed a tequila bottle that sat on the coffee table and took a swig. “I give my all and nothing good ever comes out of it.”

            “Blaine…”

“I mean…I just want to make people happy,” He whimpered. “But no one cares. They use me and drop me when they’re done.”

“Then you just haven’t found someone who appreciates you for the amazing guy you are,” Kurt smiled at him. “You’re funny, sweet, cute, and a good guy. You’ve been hurt by someone who you were supposed to trust. I hate to see you so upset.”

            “Kurt.”

“You are such a good guy Blaine and I am so sorry for what I did. It wasn’t right and I hate myself for it.”

            “Kurt.”

“Please, let me talk. I think you’re amazing and I want us to be friends. I know it’s going to be hard to forgive me but could you?”

            “I’m going to throw up.”

“Oh,” Blaine’s small hitching movements made more sense. He hurried to get Blaine to the bathroom and then got him on the couch where he passed out almost instantly.

After a brief hesitation, Kurt made himself comfortable on the armchair. He took the time to look at Blaine as he slept and the puffy eyes and tear tracks broke his heart. He curled himself up slightly and finally fell asleep.

The sound of retching startled him awake in the morning and he glanced over to the bathroom to see Blaine kneeling miserably over the toilet.

“Hey, you doing okay?’ Kurt glanced over to the trembling man and made his way into the bathroom.

“Yeah…I think I puked up most of it. Let me tell you Kahlua tastes a whole lot better going down than…than…” He lurched towards the toilet again.

“Well it’s…ten in the morning,” He raised his eyebrows at how late he had slept in. “Think you can keep eggs and toast down?”

Blaine’s head bobbed and Kurt hurried into the kitchen, scrambling some eggs and putting some bread in the toaster.

“So…I remember Sam here?” Blaine walked out, squinting behind a pair of dark framed glasses.

“Yeah I came to drop off cupcakes,” Kurt motioned to the box on the counter.

“Ah, the traditional break up cupcakes,” Blaine sighed heavily and opened the box, peering in.

“I thought we were straying away from tradition,” Kurt put a plate of eggs and toast in front of him.

“Mmhmm,” Blaine poked at the food. “You don’t need to sit here with me and baby me.”

            “I know.”

“I mean…I’m still incredibly hurt by Remy’s stupid, stupid, stupid,” He stabbed at his eggs and Kurt pulled out a cupcake, placing it in front of him.

“That’s that asshole’s face,” He motioned to the cupcake.

            “What?”

“Let out some aggression,” Kurt pointed again. “That cupcake is Remy’s face.”

After a moment of hesitation Blaine stabbed it with his fork.

“Seriously? After what he did to you?” Kurt sighed and Blaine stabbed it again, a little more aggression behind his action.

Soon he started really stabbing it and using the flat side to smash it. Eyes flashing, Blaine dropped the fork and started smashing it with his hand until it was spread all across the counter and he was breathing heavily.

            “Feel better?” Kurt asked, grinning.

“So much better,” Blaine chuckled, looking down at his cupcake covered hands with a small smile.

This is really good, I feel so bad for Blaine!

This was really good. It was nice to see Blaine tell Remy off and it was fun to see how happy Sam was when he got to lock him out of the shop. The end with the smashing of the cupcake was fun to see because it helped Blaine to relieve some of his anger and it made him smile. I can't wait to see what happens next.
