“I can make a cupcake out of anything,” Blaine boasted as they shared a bowl of fruit salad in bed.

            “Anything?” Kurt raised his eyebrows.

“At my last shop I had a maple cupcake with honey icing and a fried chicken garnish,” He smiled as he popped a strawberry into his mouth. “It was amazing.”

“Fine,” Kurt grabbed the bowl and set it aside, moving to straddle his boyfriend. “This afternoon I will come by your shop and bring some stuff to make cupcakes out of. Your challenge is to make it delicious.”

“Challenge accepted,” Blaine grinned. “And when I win?”

            “You wont,” Kurt shrugged.

“I will,” Blaine laughed, leaning up to kiss him. “And when I do, what do I get?”

“You can pick your prize,” Kurt whispered into his ear, making Blaine raise his eyebrows. “And when I win?”

            “You wont,” Blaine laughed.

“When I win I want you to move in,” His heart pounded and Blaine’s smile slipped off his face. “I mean…you practically live here anyway and we’ve been dating for a few months…unless you think it’s too soon…”

“It’s not,” Blaine reached up to cup his face. “It’s not too soon.”

“Good,” Kurt leaned down to kiss him deeply. “Because I want to wake up next to you every morning.”

“I hope you know,” Blaine trailed his fingers down Kurt’s back. “That I wont throw this little contest just because of the prize. I’m very competitive.”

            “Oh I know,” Kurt laughed.

“So, my prize if I win is to move out of my apartment,” He smiled slowly. “It’ll be a pain finding somewhere to live.”

“Poor baby,” Kurt leaned down to kiss him again. “You’re really lucky I’m going to win.”

A few hours later Kurt walked into Supercakes with a bag of groceries.

“Hey Kurt!” Sam grinned at him from the counter. “Blaine told me all about your little contest.”

“The one I’m going to win?” Blaine came in from the back, wiping his hands on a towel.

“You’re mistaken,” Kurt handed him a bag. “I’m winning this.”

“So we have…” Blaine went through the bag. “Black licorice, peas, boneless buffalo wings and tomato juice.”

“Gross,” Sam scrunched up his nose.

“No. Once I mix chopped buffalo wings and peas into the batter with a nice tomato and licorice topped icing it’ll be delicious,” Blaine grabbed the bag and strode into the kitchen.

“You’re distracting us from our work. I swear since you both started dating our productivity has gone way down,” Sam gave him a smile. “Come back after closing and bring Santana. We’ll have a taste test.”

Kurt hummed to himself as he walked out, knowing there was no possible way Blaine could ever win.

He got through the afternoon ignoring Santana’s eye rolling and snide comments. All he could think about was that Blaine had agreed to move in with him. They were going to go to sleep together every night and wake up every morning in each other’s arms.

He could hardly stop smiling as he piped frosting onto an order of cupcakes.

“Let’s go,” He sang as he walked into the store. “Come on. Close up.”

“Kurt do I have to?” Santana wined. “I have a feeling that this is just going to be some kind of weird foreplay for you and I really don’t want to be a part of that.”

“Shut up and come on,” He glared and flipped the sign to closed as they walked to Supercakes.

“They are just stunning!” Blaine announced loudly as soon as they walked into the bakery. Behind him Sam was shaking his head, eyes wide. “Seriously, I so won this bet.”

            “I doubt that,” Kurt laughed.

“So, Santana and Sam have to try one and give their honest opinion,” Blaine handed Sam a plate with a cupcake on it.

The cake was a strange dark green color which contrasted horribly with the dark red frosting, topping with black bits.

“Okay go,” Blaine gave Kurt a smug smile.

Both of them took a small bite and reacted almost instantly. Santana didn’t even chew before spitting her bite back up, scrunching her nose and wiping her tongue with her napkin. Sam pursed his lips and chewed slowly.

“No,” Santana spat, grabbing a water bottle and chugging it.

“What?” Blaine’s face fell. “What’s wrong with it?”

“Just no,” She shook her head.

“I mean,” Sam said with a full mouth. “It’s not that bad…I just…don’t want to chew or swallow.”

            “It’s not that bad!”

“It is,” Santana glared at the cupcake.

“It wasn’t too bad until it touched my tongue,” Sam finally spat out his mouthful. “Sorry bud I tried.”

            “I know,” Blaine sighed.

“So I win?” Kurt clapped his hands.

“I guess so,” Blaine perked up. “I guess I cant be that upset. We do kind of both win in this situation.”

“What was the prize?” Sam asked, taking Santana’s water bottle and washing out his mouth.

“I’m moving in with him,” Blaine bounced a bit on his feet, leaning forward to kiss his boyfriend.

“No really what is it?” Sam laughed.

“Really, we’re moving in together,” Blaine’s smile widened as he stared at Kurt.

            “Don’t you think it’s a bit soon…”

“What?” Kurt’s smile slid a bit off his face.

“I mean…Blaine you just got out of a bad relationship…” Sam winced a little at the wording and rubbed the back of his neck.

“Kurt’s not a rebound,” Blaine snapped back, eyes narrowing.

“That’s not what I was saying!”

“It was,” Blaine tightened his hand around Kurt’s. “Maybe it is soon but it feels right. I love Kurt.”

Kurt felt the air freeze in his lungs. They had never gotten to the point of really talking about how they felt about each other. Hearing Blaine say those words made his heart pound a little harder.

Sam ducked his head and held his hands up in surrender. After a long awkward silence, Blaine reached over and grabbed Kurt’s hand in his own.

“Help me pack?” Blaine gave him a little smile.

“Of course,” With a quick squeeze of his hand, Kurt followed his boyfriend up the stairs to his apartment.

Blaine went from slightly pissed to bubbly in just a few seconds. He hummed happily to himself as he pulled out some cardboard boxes he had saved from his previous move.

“I’ll go grab some clothes and things if you pack up my DVD’s?” Blaine gave him a bright smile.

“Do we really need your Star Wars and Indiana Jones box sets?”

“Absolutely,” Blaine looked so serious that Kurt couldn’t help but giggle.

He tried his hardest to keep his focus on the task instead of what Blaine had said earlier. Blaine loved him? Kurt had to admit that what he felt for Blaine was different from anything else he had ever experienced but warning bells were going off in his head.

They had not really been dating for that long.

            Was it too soon?

But then again, there wasn’t like a specific timeline for dating…

            But still…

Voices in Blaine’s bedroom pulled him out of thoughts and he tried to focus on them.

“What is your problem?” Blaine sounded agitated.

“Nothing…” Sam sighed and Kurt snuck a little closer to the bedroom.

“Then why did you make those comments? Suggesting that Kurt was a rebound?”

“Blaine,” Sam sighed loudly. “You’re my best bro. I wanted to punch Remy’s stupid face in for years and after what he did to you I wanted to stomp my foot on it repeatedly. You just haven’t been dating Kurt for a long time and I don’t want you to get hurt.”

“Kurt wouldn’t hurt me,” Blaine said softly. “I…I really feel something special with him. Something I’ve never felt before.”

            “I just worry about you.”

“Aw,” Blaine sounded like he was smiling. “Because you love me.”

“Course I do! And I know that I’m going to be the best man at my best bro’s wedding. I will fight Cooper for that spot since I’m pretty sure he airbrushes his abs on and these babies?...all real.”

            “You’re such a dork!”

“And if that wedding includes Kurt I’m sure it’ll be awesome,” Kurt couldn’t hold back the smile. “Because you are my bro and I love you.”

“Love you too,” Blaine said fondly. “I should go check up on him, make sure he’s bringing the right movies.”

Kurt scrambled back to where the movies were and tried to act like he hadn’t heard anything, throwing some movies into the box.

“Ready?” Blaine perked up as he stepped into the living room. “We might as well just spend the night at your place. I can move the rest of my stuff over the weekend.”

“Our place now,” Kurt smiled and Blaine beamed.

That night they had celebrated with a bottle of wine, homemade pasta, and a marathon of sex in their bed.

“So…this doesn’t feel too fast?” Kurt asked, holding Blaine’s hand in his own as they laid tangled up under the sheets together.

“No,” Blaine shrugged. “I may have thrown the cupcake competition.”

“You’re just saying that,” Kurt laughed. “It was impossible to make a tasty cupcake out of those ingredients.”

“I could have done it!” Blaine insisted. “I just chose not to because I wanted to move into my incredibly sexy boyfriend’s apartment.”

“Did you mean it?” Kurt asked softly after another silence.

            “What?”

“You told Sam you loved me,” He watched as Blaine pursed his lips together.

            “I did.”

            “And…”

“And I meant it,” Blaine let out his breath in a whoosh. “It’s just…when I’m with you everything feels easy. The day doesn’t seem too long. Breathing is easier, thinking is easier, it feels like my heart doesn’t have to work harder to beat I’ve never felt like this before. Ever.

With Remy I always felt like I had to try to be better. With you, I’m actually happy to be myself. And believe me, I’ve never been happy to be myself. You make me comfortable. We just…fit together.”

Kurt smiled and stroked the back of Blaine’s hand with his thumb.

            “I love you too.”

            “Really?” Blaine’s head snapped up.

“Really,” Kurt chuckled. “I mean I was literally swept off my feet when I first saw you.”

“You know just what to say,” Blaine grinned and leaned in for another kiss.
