Author's Notes: Chapter Warning: language, attempted sexual assault, gore

“I’m going to school,” Blaine crossed his arms and glared.

“Darling, you’ve been sick, maybe you should just stay home and rest,” Tricia tried but Blaine shook his head sharply.

“I’ve missed three days of school and I’ve done noting but lay in bed,” He begged. “I’m so behind in my classes and I miss my friends. Please, I swear I’ll call if I feel bad.”

“You know your father and I are going out of town this afternoon right?” She frowned worriedly. “But if you are still feeling bad I can stay. Oh…I’ll just stay.”

“Mom, you’ve been looking forward to your vacation for months. It’s your anniversary and I don’t want to be the reason it’s ruined,” Blaine smiled. “Go on your trip and we’ll see you in two weeks.”

“I’ll be here,” Cooper shrugged, taking a bite out of his Eggo waffle. “You don’t need to worry.”

“Cooper can take care of me. He only locked me in the car and left me once,” Blaine grinned as Cooper rolled his eyes.

“In my defense, you were an abnormally quiet three year old.”

“Fine,” Tricia sighed. “But you are calling me every night. I want you two to be safe.”

“We will mom,” Cooper smiled. “Come on bro, I’ll drive you to school.”

“I can drive!”

“Not on these meds,” Cooper handed him his backpack and kissed his mother on the cheek. “Let’s roll, we can get you to school on time if we leave now.”

Blaine beamed as he hurried out to the car with his brother. The ride to McKinnley was relatively short but Blaine was clearly thrilled to be going back and seeing his friends.

“What are you doing today? Grading?” Blaine asked as they tuned on to the street with the school.

“I might go to the library,” Cooper shrugged.

“And do what?”

“Research that green lady and whatever else you were talking about,” He noticed the huge grin that spread across Blaine’s face. “Not because I believe you see ghosts. Just because…I’m curious…”

“Sure,” Blaine rolled his eyes but then his face softened. “Thanks Coop. It means a lot.”

“Eh,” Cooper chuckled and pulled up to the front of the school. “Have a great day darling. Make good choices.”

“Thanks mom,” Blaine hit him lightly and stepped out, giving him a small wave before jogging to meet a grinning Kurt by the door.

“Hi!” Blaine slowed in front of his boyfriend and they just smiled at each other for a bit, too many students around for them to kiss like they wanted.

“I missed you so much!” Kurt pulled him into a tight hug, giving him a small peck on the cheek. “It’s been just miserable without you.”

“Same here. I’ve been dealing with my parents and brother literally hovering over me twenty-four seven,” He rolled his eyes as he pulled back. “I had to beg to come back to school.”

“Are you sure you should be back?” Kurt’s hands hovered by his sides.

“Yeah I feel fine!”

And he did. Being out of the house completely energized him and he was feeling so much better than he did before.

Of course, it didn’t stop Kurt from babying him. He handed him a huge tumbler full of chamomile tea and a whole wheat morning glory muffin right off the bat and throughout the day kept an hand on him constantly as if afraid he was going to have a seizure and collapse at any moment.

“Everyone in Glee really misses you,” Kurt said as they walked to practice, arm wrapped around Blaine’s waist. “They were all worried.”

“I missed them too,” Blaine smiled and leaned into Kurt.

Although he felt better the side effects of the medication were really taking a toll on him. He was exhausted, nauseous, found himself zoning out often and had trouble keeping focus.

As soon as they stepped into the choir room, he was surprised by the brightly colored balloons and streamers decorating the room.

“Welcome back!” The group cheered and Blaine felt his face split into a wide smile.

“Wow!” He laughed and glanced at Kurt who was smiling brightly. “This is awesome guys!”

“Kurt texted Puck the moment he knew you were coming back and Puck went on his free period to pick up the stuff.”

“You have a free period?” Quinn asked, curious.

“Well…it’s math…” Puck shrugged. “Anyway, it was kind of short notice and so I was only able to get a Spiderman ‘Happy 5th Birthday’ cake but…”

“It’s the thought that counts,” Blaine laughed. “Thanks guys.”

The cake was served and they moved their chairs into a big circle. Kurt sat on one side of Blaine and Mike on the other.

“So…what happened?” Sam asked, mouth smeared with red and blue frosting. “Kurt told us you were sick.”

“I went to the hospital Friday night,” He explained, getting some gasps from around the room. “I had a seizure and they ran all kinds of tests. I guess I had been having them for a while and didn’t recognize them. Anyway, the doctor thinks I have epilepsy and I’ve started taking meds. I should be just fine.”

“That’s awful,” Quinn looked at him sadly. “I’m so sorry Blaine.”

“It’s fine. It’s just that I have these hallucinations sometimes when I have the seizures and they get kinda weird,” He motioned at his head and scrunched his nose up a bit.

“But you’re okay now right?” Mr. Schue asked.

“I think so,” Blaine shrugged.

“That one day you woke up freaked out in Glee, were you having a seizure then?” Finn asked, stealing some frosting from Rachel’s cake.

“Most likely,” Blaine smiled at the worried group. “Guys I’m fine. Don’t worry about me.”

“Of course we worry,” Quinn said soothingly.

“You’re one of us dude,” Puck saluted him with his fork.

For a moment Blaine was actually a little choked up. He blinked rapidly and smiled around at the group. For the first time in a long time he really felt safe and secure.

“That really means a lot,” He smiled.

“Just keep us in the loop,” Quinn insisted.

As soon as he dropped off Blaine, Cooper drove to the public library. He walked past all the books and found a secluded seat in front of the records database.

After sitting in front of the database for a long moment he finally searched for his home address and raised his eyebrows as a few articles popped up. The first one was a few months before the Anderson family moved in.

Tragedy in Lima, Ohio.

Sixteen year old Louis Peters committed suicide by hanging early on the morning of June 15th, 1995. The funeral will be on Saturday at 11am.

The picture that accompanied the picture made Cooper’s stomach twist. Louis Peters was slim, dark haired and had an easy smile. He looked like a truly happy boy with no indications of being depressed.

He looked like Blaine.

With a shudder, Cooper clicked on the next one.

Tragedy in Lima, Ohio

Early on October 13th, 1987 seventeen year old Paul Lithgo committed suicide. His loving parents announced that the memorial will be on Friday at noon.

At first, his thought was that the Lima newspaper wasn’t very creative with their headlines then he saw the picture.

Wide grin, dark hair and slim frame.

A Sad Day in Lima, Ohio

On January 3rd, 1974 sixteen year old Trevor Quinton killed himself.

Tragic Day in Lima Ohio

April 9th, 1962. Sixteen year old Oliver Trapp took his own life

Every picture that accompanied the story looked similar.

Every story had the same address.

Every story was the same.

And it continued every ten years like it was scheduled.

With a soft gasp, Cooper covered his mouth and stared at the older newspapers clippings. He remembered how excited his parents were that the house was so cheap and now he knew why.

He finally reached the last article. It was a crime report from 1893 about the house.

Date: August 17, 1893
Location: 909 Green Road Lima, Ohio
Victims: Laura Gallaway (36), Franklin Gallaway (41) and William Gallaway (16)
Cause of Death: Multiple axe wounds on LG and WG and single shotgun shot to the head for FG
Suspects: Confirmed murder-suicide

Cooper felt bile rise in his throat as he went through the crime scene pictures. He saw the blood soaked room with the parts of Laura scattered. It looked exactly like the flash he saw a few days before and the déjà vu actually made his head swim.

The picture of William made him gasp and pale. The boy was staring sightlessly at the camera. His chest was completely crushed in by an axe, intestines splattered around him like a gory halo. A single hit to his neck basically decapitated him and his face was locked in fear and desperation.

William was thin with dark hair that was slicked back.

God, it was like seeing his baby brother being hacked to bits.

“Is everything alright son?” An elderly librarian made him jump and spin around, hand to his chest.

“Just fine thanks,” He smiled shakily.

“Be careful you don’t give yourself nightmares with those pictures,” She pointed at the screen. “Some of the stories we have in here are terrifying.”

“I’ll try,” He nodded. “Can you point me to the books on the paranormal?”

“Um…sure,” If the librarian was surprised by the request she didn’t show it. “What kind of paranormal?”

“Ghosts,” Cooper winced at the wording. “And can I get copies of the articles I looked up?”

“Of course,” She led him to a small section. “I’ll go print those for you. Let me know if you need anything else.”

“Thank you ma’am,” Cooper smiled and turned to the books.

Specters, Spirits, and Souls: A Journey into the Afterlife

Seeing the Light

Pondering the Paranormal: A Journey By A Man

Ghost Hunting for Dummies

The reading material wasn’t very promising.

He passed by the brightly colored books with pictures of smiling teens and finally found a pain, dusty book that had been pushed back slightly.

A Study of the Paranormal

The book was incredibly detailed and had a ton of information. It explained everything from types of hauntings, types of ghosts, examples of experiences, how to find evidence, and how to get rid of the spirits.

Once section really made a chill run up Cooper’s spine.

Possession:
Possession by a spirit is a rare and dangerous event. When a person is mentally or physically weakened they become a target for possession. The spirit will take over their body, often times to finish unfinished business. Some of the symptoms are as follow:
1. Extreme changes in personality, usually becoming hostile
2. Changes in sleep patterns
3. Sudden weight loss or gain
4. Self mutilation
5. Becoming abusive and threatening for no reason
6. Becoming violent
7. Severe nightmares or night terrors
8. Acting out sexually
9. Memory blackouts
10. Headaches
11. Changes in diet
12. Possessing inhuman strength
13. Changes in voice
14. Suicidal tendencies

Cooper swallowed and stared at the list. He thought back to the migraines, night terrors, violence, and anger and it made sense. Something was living in his brother and it was not Blaine.

But…possession seemed a little out there.

Regardless of his doubts, he checked out the book and got the copies of the articles. By the time he got home Blaine should be and he would show him the research he had compiled.

“So,” Blaine drew out the word. “Do you wanna come baby me for a bit back at my house?”

“I thought you were all better,” Kurt grinned as Blaine unbuckled his seatbelt.

“I don’t want to take any chances,” Blaine reached over and turned the Navigator off. “I might even need help to my room and into bed. I’m sick you know.”

“Fine,” Kurt rolled his eyes and followed his boyfriend up to the house.

As soon as they stepped into the empty house Blaine got a surge of energy and grabbed Kurt’s hand, practically dragging him up to his bedroom.

“What’s gotten into you?” Kurt laughed as Blaine shut the door and pushed him onto the bed, kissing him roughly.

“I’ve been thinking about this all day,” Blaine growled into his ear.

“Wait…what?”

“I need you to fuck me Kurt,” He undid Kurt’s best, ignoring the hands trying to still his own. “I’m gonna make you feel so good baby. Gonna suck your cock then ride you until you scream.”

“Hold on,” Kurt sounded a little worried but Blaine didn’t stop. “Blaine! Stop!”

“Shut up,” Blaine snarled and Kurt froze, eyes wide.

Blaine’s face was dark and furious, eyes flashing as he bit Kurt’s collarbone and groaned roughly. Panic overwhelmed Kurt and he began to struggle, hands pushing at the suddenly much stronger Blaine but not moving him.

“Honey?” Kurt’s voice trembled and rose. “Stop! Blaine, seriously! Let me go!”

A sharp slap silenced him and he gaped at Blaine.

“You hit me,” He gasped.

“And if you don’t keep your fucking mouth shut I’ll do it again,” Blaine’s fingers squeezed tightly on his wrists.

Squirming, Kurt’s eyes flickered around. He could hardly believe this was happening and felt tears rise in his eyes.

The sound of the front door opening was the most beautiful sound he had ever heard.

“Help!” He screamed, hearing feet pounding on the stairs the same time Blaine leaned back with a snarl on his face.

“What the fuck?” Cooper sputtered as soon as he walked in. When he saw the bruising grip on Kurt’s wrists and the crazed look on Blaine’s face he grabbed his brother around the waist and pulled him back.

“No!” Blaine shrieked, legs flailing. “Let me go!”

With a violent shove, he braced his legs on the bed and slammed them both into the wall. Cooper’s head cracked painfully on the wall but that was nothing compared to Blaine turning on him. The younger boy dug strangely sharp nails into every part of bare skin he could reach and kicked at him.

Cooper wrestled him to the ground, helped by Kurt who had managed to do his pants up again. The younger boy howled and bucked against them, snapping at their hands when they got too close.

“Blaine!” Kurt shouted, grabbing his face.

For a moment, Blaine’s face went blank and he went stiff before he collapsed backwards gasping. His eyes flickered around the room until he saw the hovering faces above him.

“Talk to us Blaine,” Cooper said slowly.

“Wha…what happened?” Blaine stuttered, feeling his body shiver.

“You had a seizure,” His brother said quickly, getting a confused look from Kurt. “We’re going to get you on the bed okay?”

Blaine nodded shakily and they almost had to pick him up in order to move him to the bed. His head moved from side to side and he let out soft moans.

“I’ll get you a glass of water,” Cooper smoothed back his hair and hurried downstairs.

“Kurt?” Blaine asked, trying to fight through the fuzziness in his mind.

“I’m here honey,” Kurt took his hand and smiled.

“What happened?” He leaned back and finally noticed the Kurt’s clothes were hastily redone, an obvious bite mark that peaked over his neckline and his reddening cheek. “Are you okay?”

“I’m fine,” Kurt tried to hide his trembling hands.

“Did…did I hurt you?” Fear crept into Blaine’s eyes and he sat up, gently touching the bite mark.

“No,” Kurt said quickly.

“Kurt, we promised no secrets. What happened?”

“You were just…very insistent,” Kurt winced and looked down at his hands.

“Oh,” Blaine scrambled up to the headboard. “I don’t even remember leaving Glee. God Kurt, did I attack you?”

“It’s nothing Blaine, you weren’t yourself,” Kurt soothed even as tears began to gather in Blaine’s eyes.

“That’s attempted rape Kurt,” He whispered. “And I hurt you. God, I hurt you.”

“Sweetheart,” Kurt reached out and sighed as Blaine jerked away. “You weren’t yourself. I don’t blame you. I’m just terrified that you’re sick.”

“I’m just happy Cooper came home in time to save you from me,” Blaine muttered into his arms. “If you hate me I understand, I hate myself a little right now.”

“I could never hate you,” Kurt grabbed his hand and pressed a kiss to his knuckles as Cooper ran in and gave him the glass.

“How are you feeling?” He asked as he sat on the other end of the bed. “You scared us.”

“I’m sorry,” Blaine curled in on himself more.

“Are you tired?” His brother asked, smiling when Blaine nodded slightly. “How about you take a nap and Kurt and I will be downstairs.”

“Okay,” Blaine didn’t even argue as the two snuck out of the room and headed down the stairs.

“Cooper, I’ve seen almost enough medical dramas that I know that was not a seizure,” Kurt whispered as they walked down the stairs. “What’s going on?”

“I don’t know,” Cooper shivered. “He does that kind of stuff sometimes. He gets violent and freaks out. The doctors found nothing wrong though.”

“So what…he’s possessed?” Kurt let out a laugh but froze when he saw how serious Cooper looked.

“You’re going to think I’m crazy,” Cooper stood up and grabbed a pile of books and papers. “But I swear that something freaky is going on here. You can’t tell him though…not until we get this all figured out. He’s already exhausted and stressed and I don’t want to freak him out over nothing.”

“So you’ve done research on ghosts?” Kurt raised his eyebrows.

“Look at this,” Cooper handed him the articles. “Almost every ten years in this house a teenaged boy has killed themselves. No one has connected this because no one saw a connection in suicide.”

“That’s strange.”

“Look at the pictures,” Cooper insisted.

“…they all look like…” Kurt bit his lip, frowning.

“They look like Blaine,” He turned to the last page. “Here’s the kicker, look at William Gallaway. He was murdered in his house at the turn of the century by his father.”

“This could be a coincidence,” Kurt whispered, staring with wide eyes at the picture.

“Really?”

“Listen, I don’t believe in ghosts,” Kurt put down the pictures.

“I don’t either but some weird shit is going on here,” Cooper handed him the picture of the crime scene of Laura Gallaway’s body. “I’ve seen this Kurt. Blaine was in a…a state and I grabbed him and saw this. It’s Blaine’s bedroom.”

“You know once you have this kind of crap in your mind you see it everywhere,” He replied, putting the paper down quickly.

“I’m not making this up. I swear to God that it’s happening,” Cooper’s voice shook. “It’s not just shit moving around or spooky voices. There is something in this house.”

“So, what do we do? Call a priest to come exorcise the place? Get he Ghostbusters to come?” Kurt laughed but looked a little worried.

“I don’t know what to do. I can’t tell my parents,” Cooper tapped his foot on the floor. “They think something might be wrong with him mentally and if they find out about this they wont hesitate to send him to a mental hospital or something.”

“Maybe he can stay at my house for a bit or something?” Kurt twisted his hands together.

“It’s happening outside of the house. Whatever it is, it’s in Blaine now,” Cooper sighed and rubbed at his forehead.

“So, what do we do?”

“I don’t know,” Cooper stared at the pictures in front of him. “I have no idea what to do.”

okay so, aside from the gore (which I do moderately tolerate in fics), I am so loving this story! I do like the paranormal (to an extent) and your fic is just perfect. My main weakness is the Anderbros, and the way you write Cooper and Blaine together is also perfect. I look forward to the next chapter!

This is so amazing I'm on the edge of my seat constantly!!

Ohh damnnn! Cooper says it's happening outside the house too. When did it? Why won't they tell Blaine so he can have an idea of what's happening?
