Dark clouds swirled across the sky. Rain pelted down on the filthy concrete floor. He was hiding. He was hiding even though he knew they'd catch him.
"Come out, come out wherever you are, Ladyboy!" One shadowy figure sneered over the rain.
"Come on Hummel, let's have some fun!" The other shouted.
Kurt ran. He ran and ran and ran but no matter how fast or how far; they would always catch him. They always did.
He could hear the loud steps following behind him and the laughs that echoed throughout the area.
Faster and faster.
Louder and louder.
"We're gaining on you and it's only a matter of time now!"
Run.
Run.
Run.
Kurt felt everything disappearing away from him.
Further and further.
Darker and darker.
He kept running and running whilst everywhere got darker and darker.
He could see in the darkness, a light.
"Dad." He whispered before collapsing on the cold, hard floor.
So close yet so far.
Kurt awoke in cold sweat. He felt tears growing in his eyes. He searched the room for something, anything.
Darkness.
Quickly, he shot out of bed and made his way to his father's room. He quietly slipped in and climbed into bed. He felt a strong arm wrap around his middle as he fell back to sleep.
In the morning, Burt Hummel woke up to see his little baby boy curled up in his arms, fast asleep. This happened more often than not. Before, Kurt used to ask for permission to come and sleep with him but now, since it happens so much, Kurt just climbs in just like what he did the during the night.
It all started about a month ago, at least that's when Burt started to notice something wrong with his son. Kurt stopped wearing his extravagant outfits and stopped talking back to Burt. He rarely spoke and when he did, it was short answers. Burt started getting phone calls from Mercedes and Tina and even one from Santana asking how Kurt was. Everyone was deeply concerned for Kurt, Burt more than the rest.
A few days after Kurt's change, Burt snapped. He questioned Kurt about his sudden change of mood and kept asking one question over another, never allowing Kurt a chance to speak. Finally, Kurt lost it. He burst into uncontrollable tears and couldn't stop shaking. Burt instantly stopped talking and held Kurt close to his chest, murmuring things like 'It's okay.' And 'I love you.'
After about 20 minutes, Kurt claimed down and fell into a restless sleep against his father's warm, solid chest.
In the end, Kurt never told Burt what happened but it didn't stop him from running into his father's protective arms whenever he needed. Burt gladly allowed him to do so.
It became a sudden occurrence, Kurt falling into his dad's arms whenever things got to tough and Burt stoking his hair and rubbing his back, soothingly. They never questioned it and with that, Burt became even more protective over Kurt.
But Burt being as protective as he is, couldn't see what happened to Kurt during the day.
During the day, Kurt was bullied to the full extent. Every jock in school had either slushied him, tossed him in a dumpster, shoved him into a locker or anything of the sort. Kurt never got a minute of freedom because someone was always there to make his life hell.
This morning however, Kurt felt as if this day was going to be different. And it will be.
After breakfast with his father, Kurt drove himself to school where his tormentors were waiting.
As soon as Kurt stepped through the front doors of McKinley, he was greeted by a splash of purple.
"See ya later, Homo!" The jocks high fived each other as they walked off.
Kurt stayed frozen. Not moving at all, until he felt a pair of strong hands gripping his shoulders.
Kurt tried to look but his eyes burned as sons as he opened them.
He heard a door open then close and soon felt a wet paper towel against his face and neck. Soon he was able to open his eyes and see the person helping him.
It was a boy. He had curly black hair that seemed to have the tiniest bit of gel. His face was tan and smoothed with amber eyes, small nose and small freckles around his eyes. He had a metal lip ring and a few eyebrow rings along with a smoke nose ring. He was dressed in a black leather jacket with a white tee. His jeans were tattered and his shoes looked like they'd been through a war.
"Blaine."
"Huh?" Kurt said, slipping out of his daze.
"The names Blaine." Blaine explained as he pulled out a cigarette lighter.
"Uhh – Umm – I –" Kurt hadn't spoken to anyone apart from his dad in so long, he'd forgotten how to talk to people.
"Don't worry, I'll claim my debt later." Blaine winked at Kurt and the walked off.
Kurt stayed in the same spot until the bell went. He blinked and suddenly bolted out of the bathroom and towards his first class.
He walked into English and sat down at the empty desk, away from everyone else.
"Alright class, settle down!" The sharp voice from Mrs. Wright at the front of the class.
"Class we have a new student today! Everyone welcome Blaine Anderson."
Kurt's head whipped up to see the boy that helped him earlier smirking at him.
"Alright Mr. Anderson, have a seat next to Mr. Hummel." Mrs. Wright said before starting the lesson.
Blaine moved swiftly over to Kurt and plopped down in his seat.
"Hey babe, lets blow this joint." Blaine said to Kurt.
"W-What?" Kurt squeaked softly.
"You heard me," Blaine dropped his gaze to Kurt's thigh as he watched his hand travel upwards.
Kurt squeaked once more and moved away so fast, he almost jumped out of his chair.
"L-L-Leave m-me al-alone." Kurt demanded weakly.
"C'mon, we could have so much fun." Blaine purred as his hand drifted higher.
Memories from last night's dream flooded Kurt's mind.
"Come on Hummel, let's have some fun!"
Kurt's eyes watered and he started shaking.
"Babe?" Blaine out a hand on Kurt's shoulder and that's when Kurt ran.
Kurt sprinted from the room and to his car. He struggled to open his door and fell on the ground.
Kurt felt around in his pocket and found his cell phone.
Speed dial 1.
"Hello?" Burt Hummel's voice flowed through the small speaker and made Kurt burst into even more tears.
"Kurt?! Where are you?" Burt said as panic rose in his voice.
"Daddy?" Kurt whimpered.
"Kurt, sweetie, where are you? Are you hurt?"
"N-No." Kurt sniffed.
"Okay," Burt took a deep breath and asked once more, "Where are you?"
"School par-parking lot." Kurt whispered.
"Okay, I'll be there soon."
"Daddy?"
"Yes baby boy?"
"I love you."
"I love you too, honey." Burt hung up and Kurt gripped his phone so tight, he was certain that it would break.
Soon later, Burt arrived. He picked Kurt up and placed him inside his car, then drove off.
Blaine looked up from behind the dumpster where he was hiding from and watched Kurt drive off with his father. He'd seen the whole thing, but so did David Karofsky.
