I apologize for the short chapters! They let me get parts of the story out to you quicker than taking a long time for long chapters...but there will be some long chapters too~ Thank you so much for reading!
Kurt was glad work had kept him busy since his plane had landed that Sunday. Without the constant running around, making sure everything was ready to be printed, he would be thinking all too much about Blaine.
When his mind was allowed to wander, it immediately drifted towards thoughts of Blaine. Wondering if he would ever call or text. Wondering if what he had felt had simply been nothing. But he tried not to ponder over it too much.
It was Thursday when Kurt got a call from an unknown number. He picked it up as he pulled off his shoes, having just gotten home from work.
“Hello?” He said into the phone, trying not to let his voice betray any hope that it was Blaine on the other end of the line.
“Hi!” Blaine replied, excited to hear Kurt's voice at the end of the line. He had been working up the nerve for days to call him, and he was proud that he finally did.
“How have you been?” Kurt asked, going into the kitchen to pour himself a glass of wine.
“I've been good, thank you. Just busy with work.”
“Same here.”
There was a pause that seemed to stretch on a good while before they both started speaking again, laughing quietly because neither of them had understood what the other had said.
“I was just going to ask, are you busy tomorrow night?” Kurt finally said, after pausing another few moments to see if Blaine would continue.
“Oh…no, I don't have any plans,” Blaine murmured in reply. Kurt practically grinned to himself.
“Would you like to have dinner with me tomorrow evening? There's a great restaurant that I should still be able to get reservations for, if I pull the right strings,” Kurt offered, biting his lip as he waited for his reply. He couldn't help that tense nervousness he felt, because there was always the possibility of hearing Blaine say no. And he'd have to respect that and move on, push away that tingling feeling he'd felt before.
“I'd love to!” Blaine said with enthusiasm, laughing a little at himself. “I mean…sure. That would be great. What time?”
Kurt couldn't help chuckling softly and smiling, glad that Blaine seemed just as excited for their date (could he label it as that? He was going to) as he was.
“Well, if you would like for me to come pick you up, how does being ready at six thirty sound?”
Blaine knew that would give him an hour and a half to get ready, and that seemed like plenty of time.
“Sure. Six thirty is fine with me, Sir,” he replied, biting his lip as a hint of a smile tugged at the corners of his lips.
Kurt hummed a little as he smiled to himself. After jotting down Blaine's address and saying goodbye he hung up, grinning. He hadn't been on a date with anyone in a while, and those had either not ended well the first night or hadn't lasted long after. But with Blaine…something seemed different, but he couldn't place it.
No matter, he thought to himself as he undressed, changing into soft pajamas. He was just happy to be looking forward to having dinner with a beautiful man that Friday evening.
