A quiet day down at the Hummel's repair shop. Blaine Anderson was mindlessly looking threw the contents on the selves as he wandered closer towards the car Mr. Burt Hummel is currently fixing.
“Mr. Hummel....” Blaine ducked under a few wires, replaying the scripted words in his head.
“Blaine, you can call me Burt, you know that!” The older man had a kind smile growing on his face as he scrubbed his hands of grease with a over used towel.
Blaine: “Burt, I just wanted to stop in and say hi. And talk to you a little.
Burt: “Fantastic, I could use a break.”
Blaine: “It's about Kurt.”
Burt's smile flinched on his face, he couldn't tell if Blaine meant that in a good or bad way.
“Burt, I'm astounded by how much you accept Kurt for who he is. My brother,” Blaine placed a hand on the car next to his head, “you think my brother built cars with me because he liked them.” Tears welled in Blaine's eyes from the memory. “I think he did it because he thought that if I got my hands dirt it would make me straight.” Blaine controlled his emotions and took a deep breath.
“Blaine, I'm astounded by how much you care for Kurt. He deserves someone like you, he always has. He's fought so hard and for so long, it all payed off, didn't it.” Burt's mindset on Blaine switched from his kids friend to something close to resembling a son.
“Burt, who's here?” a tall muscular man came around the corner, looking oddly familiar to Blaine. “Oh, hey Blaine!”
The connection clicked, Kurt's step-brother; Finn. “Hey, what's up?”
“Nothing much, pretty slow today.”
