Author's Notes: Hope you enjoyed!

A year later

Blaine's half asleep on his sofa, the afternoon sun shining through the window and sheet notes scattered around the sofa, table and floor. He's been writing for the last few days and nights, unable to stop the thoughts flowing from his mind onto paper but right now, with the sun radiating through the window it feels like the perfect time for a nap. He's nearly asleep when the doorbell rings and he sighs, feeling his body creak as he gets up. He should really stop sleeping on the sofa.

The doorbell rings again and he mutters about patience before he opens the door and his jaw hits the floor. The last year has been good on him. He looks older than his photo; angular, stronger, handsomer than his picture and much more than the pictures of his rescue that ran in the media. "Kurt." He breathes.

Kurt shifts nervously and smiles a little. "Hi. Can I come in?"

"Yeah! Yeah of course, come in. I'm sorry it's a mess, working hard and all that. Can I get you anything?" Blaine rambles as he ushers the older man in and watches Kurt step gingerly over the sheets of paper and sit delicately where Blaine himself had been sitting a minute earlier.

Kurt shakes his head and smiles a little fondly. "No thank you. I came to talk to you," He stops and watches Blaine pick up some of the sheets and put them on the coffee table then sit down. "I wanted to thank you Blaine. My dad told me what you did and the media but you never came to see me or said anything after the first couple of interviews."

"I never wanted it to be about me. It was about you and I wanted to let you reunite with your family and find yourself again without another stranger in your life." Blaine shrugs.

Kurt nods and looks at him curiously. "Why did you do it?"

Blaine stares for a second and scratches his neck sheepishly. He's told Kurt's friends and family; the media too but never thought he'd have to tell the man himself why. He gets up and grabs a photo then comes back and gives it to Kurt. "That's me at 18. I graduated from Dalton Academy in Westerville but I didn't have a life like you did. My parents were wealthy but didn't understand how to treat their children. I honestly think sometimes they were just so ill-equipped that they wanted to, they just couldn't and by the end we all just had enough of each other. I'm gay like you and I was in public school. When I figured myself out and came out I...I asked a boy I knew to a Sadie Hawkins dance at our school and while we were waiting to be picked up...I got out of hospital a week later and my parents transferred me to Dalton. They had a zero tolerance bullying policy and I could finally be who I wanted to. I joined their Glee club, the Warblers, I was popular, I enjoyed school and when I graduated I left for LA but at home I was so lonely. I'd see my parents once a month if I was lucky and my brother once every three. I saw your story and how amazing your life was and how much your parents loved you and I knew I just had to find you and send you back to them, even if I never met you."

Kurt's staring open-mouthed for a second when he finishes then composes himself. "I really mattered so much to you?"

Blaine smiled and nodded. "To be honest, from what your parents and friends told me, I kind of...well I kind of gained a crush on you. I know it sounds creepy but you're an incredible person Kurt, inside and out and it showed from what people told me. When I was growing up I'd hope there was someone out there for me that liked the same things I liked, was kind, honest and courageous and would be there for me and me for him. My prince to whisk me away from a life of loneliness. He never came along but then I saw you and something happened, like there you were but you were missing and under someone else's control. I liked to think that if things had been different we would have met and fallen in love then maybe you'd be here with me but I settled for being your knight in shining armour, even if I didn't meet you. What I was doing was on the creepy side enough."

Kurt's mouth turns into a red 'o' and he blushes. Blaine's about to backtrack when Kurt asks. "But you never came to see me? To see if it would have worked?"

"How easy is it to fall in love with the idea of someone?" Blaine asks and gets up, his fingers carding through his hair.

Kurt gets up and walks over, placing his hand on Blaine's cheek. "Probably as easy as being in love with the reality." He says and Blaine gasps and Kurt leans in and kisses him. It's exactly what he's always imagined. The ground moves, the stars fall, every cliché feels like its happening and as they part Blaine grins.

"Wow, ok, um so that was life-changing." He says then blushes at how dorky he sounds.

Kurt laughs, luckily. He doesn't know what he'd do right now if Kurt upped and left after that less than stellar remark. "You're a dork. I like that."

"You do?"

Kurt nods and they sit back down. "I have a confession to make. We have met, kind of. I was in the New Directions. We competed against the Warblers a few times over the years and I had this huge crush on the star, this boy with way too much gel and big honey eyes but was way too scared to do anything, then I met Chandler and...well that's better forgotten."

Blaine stares at him with huge eyes. "You...you did?"

Kurt nods. "Yeah and he let me have magazines, part of his psychological thing, trying to show he loved me so I knew you were getting famous and doing well."

Blaine blinks, trying to process the fact that Kurt's lived his life, knowing Blaine and wishing for him as much as he's wished for Kurt then he realises something. "Did you see your story? Did you know I was trying to find you?" He asks.

Kurt nods and looks at him sadly. "He showed me as another way of controlling me. He told me it was ridiculous, that I'd gone willingly. I'd gone to see him and that's when he trapped me but he'd twisted it, then he told me you' fail, that no-one knew."

"Finn did." Blaine responds.

Kurt nods and sighs. "Finn did. He knows a lot people don't give him credit for. Blaine I wish I had talked to you back then but we can start now, right?"

Blaine's grin widens until his cheeks hurt. Is this real? "Yes, of course we can. How long are you here for?"

Kurt smiles back and laces their fingers together. "I'm actually living here now. I'm starting an acting and singing career."

Blaine's jaw drops again and he shuffles forward, cupping Kurt's cheek. "You're so beautiful." He whispers.

"So are you." Kurt whispers back as their lips meet again.

A few months later

"Welcome back to E News! Now, true or false. This story played out like a Disney movie, young man, captured and held against his will is rescued when a prince shows up and liberates him then the prince, humble and modest then carries on with his life then the young man finds the prince and they fall in love; now could the fairy-tale become complete with wedding bells?"

"That's right well it's no fairy-tale, all of that happened to Kurt Hummel and Blaine Anderson, and it's true! There's been no word of a date yet but yesterday Kurt tweeted a picture of a ring on his ring finger with his tweet '@KEHummel Might be changing my name soon' and Blaine said this morning that he couldn't wait 'til he became Blaine Devon Anderson-Hummel. We wish them both all the happiness and joy in the world and can't wait to see what happens, they deserve it."

"No going back now."

"Nope, only forward."

"You get dorkier as you get older."

"Oh honey you saw me in bowties, you know that's not true."

"Whatever."

"I love you Mr Hummel-Anderson."

"I love you too Mr Anderson-Hummel."

"My knight in shining armour."

"My Damsel in distress."

"Ok, that's it I'm divorcing you."

"Hey! Get back here mister I'm not breaking Britney's record of shortest marriage."

"Catch me then!"

"Oh Mr Hummel-Anderson, always."

"Dork."

"Pretty much, what are you going to do about it?"

"Well I'll have to keep you; no-one else could cope."

"Deal."
