"So what do you think? Go out tonight and get wasted to forget this mess?" Blaine asked.
"It sounds good but I can't, my younger brother, Kurt, is arriving today and I promised him I'd show him around tomorrow. And I can't really do that with a massive hangover!" Carson replied.
"Oh, are you sure?"
"Yeah, it would be rude for me to leave him in the flat by himself on the first night he got here," Carson stood up to put some papers in the shredder, "But you can meet him if you want and we can just stay in with a couple of beers?"
"I dunno, it would be a bit awkward wouldn't it for Kurt I mean 'cause he might think I'm like intruding or something..." Blaine said, looking over at Carson.
"Are you kidding? If anything Kurt is the most talkative person I've ever met and you'll meet him sometime anyway because he's studying fashion at college so."
"Ok then, but you're the... wait, fashion?" Blaine realised.
"Oh, yeah, he's gay. Forgot to mention. And don't try anything, because he has my amazing good looks so you know. He ismy brother after all." Carson said jokily. Blaine laughed, accidentaly dropping his bag."Anyway, he text me and said that he should be arriving at my place at like 9 ish, so we should get back before he gets here." Carson said, standing to put on his coat.
When they arrived back at Carson's flat, they realised that there was hardly and beers so Carson left Blaine watching thefootball and reassuring him that Kurt wouldn't arrive until he got back.
10 minutes after Carson left Blaine heard a knock on the door. "Carson?" Blaine assumed that this voice was Kurt's and started to worry. He wasn't sure whether to open the door. He shook himselfand decided to let him in. He walked calmly towards the door and pulled it open. What he saw when the door opened fullywas a flustered man surrounded by many bags. Blaine smiled slightly. He couldn' take his eyes off that puzzled look on this man's face. He just looked so... beautiful.
"Oh, sorry, this must be the wrong flat, I swear Carson said it was number 34... Oh well. Sorry." Kurt then tried to hoist some of his bags onto his shoulders. Blaine knew he had to say something but he was speechless. His brain was telling him to say something but his mouth wasn't responding.
"Wait!" Was all that Blaine could blurt out to him as he was walking down the stair case. Kurt stopped on the stairs and turned in the direction of this voice. He then started to clamber back up the stairs."This is Carson's place," Blaine's mouth was finally responding to his brain again, "I'm his mate, Blaine, he's just gone out to get some beers. He didn't think you get here before he got back."
"Oh, ok. I'm guessing he told you that I was coming." Kurt repied, dragging his bags back to the door. Blaine went to help him with his bags and picked up 2 from each of his hands. "Oh, thanks. My name is..."
"Kurt. Hi, I'm Blaine." Blaine replied, cutting him short. Blaine immediately thought he would get annoyed that he was interrupted but instead Kurt smiled. "I would shake your hand but... bags."
"Oh yeah," Kurt said, laughing. "Sorry about that"
"No, don't worry. It's just, I don't think I've ever seen so many bags that belong to one person," Blaine replied, smiling back at Kurt. He looked up at Blaine blushing as he laughed. They both dropped the bags next to the sofa and sat down in front of the TV.
"So, Carson tells me that you're staying here because you're going to college here. What are you studying?" Blaine asked even though he knew the answer but it was just to make conversation.
"Oh, I'm studying fashion." Kurt replied.
"Ahh, I see. I did a bit of modelling before I went into journalism actually," Blaine said, posing. "Obviously they couldn'tresist this face." They both laugh as blaine pouted.
"Well, I'm not really into the modelling side of it, more like making outfits and designing." Kurt said.
"Well, you obviously are good at that." Blaine said, hinting that he was talking about what Kurt was wearing at the moment. Kurt laughed and blushed slightly. He wasn't sure if he was flirting or being nice, that was always the problem.
Carson then walked in, breaking the silence that followed.
"Well, I didn't think you'd be here yet" he said to Kurt.
"Well, you know I'm always early." Kurt said smiling up at his brother. Blaine could see the resemblance in them. They had the same nose and bone structure.
"I see you've met Blaine" Carson said placing the plastic bag in his hand on the kitchen counter.
"Well, yes. At first I thought I was at the wrong flat."
"Ahh, well, I guess I should have told you that Blaine was gonna be here. It was a late minute sort of thing though so." Carson replied. He passed Blaine a beer and offered one to Kurt.
"Oh, no thanks. I'll have a diet coke if you've got some." Kurt replied.
"Good job I know you so well," Carson then pulled out a massive bottle of diet coke and poured Kurt a glass, "So what have you been talking about then?"
"Oh, just things" Blaine said talking a swig from the can and smiling at Kurt. Kurt took a sip from his coke and tried not to blush. Carson looked from Blaine's smirking face to Kurt's.
"What? Have you been telling Blaine embarrassing things about me Kurt?" Carson asked, looking expectantly at Kurt.
"Oh, no, no, ofcourse not," Kurt started to grin and snigger. They knew they hadn't but the fact that Carson thought that they had been was funny.
"Oh come off it. Blaine what has he said?" Carson looked over at Blaine. Blaine was trying to hold in his laughter.
"Nothing, I-I swear!"
"Oh, if you're not gonna tell me then I might as well give up." Carson reluctantly slumped back into the sofa next to Kurt and drank some of his beer. Kurt looked back over at Blaine and Blaine was now intently watching the football.Kurt had never really cared for football but he didn't want to complain because they were enjoying it.
He suspected that they had come straight from work because Blaine was wearing a black suit with a white shirt but no tie. Kurt thought that he must have removed it to be more comfortable. He looked down to Blaine's feet which were resting on the coffee table and saw that he was wearing socks with the day on them and that were a navy blue. Kurt smiled to himself because the socks had Tuesday written on them and it wasn't even Tuesday. Kurt looked back up to Blaine to see him smiling radiantly back at him. If he hadn't been sitting down, we was sure he would have gone weak at the knees and need to perch somewhere or other. Kurt looked away, trying to pretend he hadn't been looking at Blaine.
"I see you were admiring my amazing socks." Blaine said, making Kurt hot at the collar.
"I wouldn't say they are amazing, they don't even have the right day of the week on!" Kurt replied, smiling.
"It's not my fault that my Friday socks had jumped out of my sock draw and gone for a walk!" Blaine defended. Kurt laughed and saw Blaine wiggling his toes.
"You love your day of the week socks don't you Blaine," Carson interjected, "Everytime I see your socks, you're almost always wearing one pair of those socks!"
"What? There is nothing wrong with them! If you carry on talking like that you're gonna hurt their feeling!" Blaine said lowering his feet under the coffee table. They all laughed and Kurt almost melted. When Blaine laughed it was the most amazing smile, the most amazing person that he'd ever seen. He felt like he could never take his eyes away from him.
They carried on watching TV into the late hours of the evening. Kurt watched as Blaine and his brother started to get a little more drunk after each beer. Eventually, Carson said that Blaine could sleep on the sofa at theirs tonight. Kurt started to get tired at 11 but he didn't want to leave those two together by themselves, so he stayed up with them until 1 in the morning and then suggested that they go to bed. As soon as Carson flopped onto his bed, he refused to get up, so Kurt had to get a duvet and pillow for Blaine. He rumadged through the cupboard in Carson's room and found an extra duvet and stole a pillow from Carson's bed. He went back into the living room and put the pillow on the sofa.
"Here's your pillow and duvet Blaine," Kurt said watching as Blaine lay down on the sofa.
"Thanks Kurt. You're really amazing, you know. I only just met you today and I think you're amazing. I'm sorry if I am crossing a line or something but you are. You really are." Blaine said, slurring some of his words.
"Ok, thanks Blaine." Kurt knew that Blaine didn't mean it because he was drunk... but then again. They do say that some people are more truthful when they're drunk. Kurt tried not to think that because, yes Blaine was gorgeous and really funny and nice, but he's Carson's best friend. Nothing can happen. Nothing.
Kurt flung the duvet over Blaine and turned off the light. "Goodnight Blaine," Kurt said.
"Night night Kurt," Blaine said, already starting to fall asleep, "You're... You're gorg... um... the b-best Kurt."
Kurt paused as he looked back over his should to see Blaine drifting slowly to sleep. Kurt had sworn that he had said something else, but he turned and went to bed, his heart aching.
