Kurt went to bed that night with red puffy eyes. Before he cried himself to sleep in his father’s arms Burt decided that he should go to bed and try to catch some sleep. He got ready for bed – almost in slow-motion. He couldn’t believe that he was still lying to his teacher. He felt terrible about that fact and really wanted to clear everything up. But can I even do that? How would I excuse my behavior? He was clueless.
After he finished his shower and his skincare routine- which he shorted somehow - he went to bed and waited till sleep took finally over him.

Why did I even went over there? Blaine thought to himself when he got back to his car. He really didn’t know why he was doing this. Sure he liked Kurt. More than he should to be honest. He just couldn’t help himself. I’m really sad what happened to him earlier. I should have interact right away. Ugh. I’m so stupid. He thought to himself and catched the steering wheel until his knuckles were white.
When he got home he settled himself in front of his TV. Trying to stop his mind from thinking about Kurt. But this was really easier said than done. He couldn’t figure out why Karofsky was doing this to Kurt. Kurt was such an amazing person, always kind and thoughtful. Blaine couldn’t believe that Kurt could harm a single soul.
It was getting late when he decided to go to bed. His head was still swirling about the blue eyed boy and he couldn’t help it. He was getting to the point where he dreamed about those eyes at night. Getting up in the mornings with a little problem south the equator wasn’t really helpful. This already happened more than once in the last few days…

The next day Kurt got up with an annoying headache. He stayed under the covers until his father made his way up to him.
“Kurt? Kurt, are you awake?” He already asked from behind the door. Kurt just groaned in response and hid himself some more under his pillow.
“Ugh. Why. Just why.” He said out loud. Burt took that moment to enter his room.
“Hi buddy. What is wrong? Are you ok?” Burt asked his son and made his way over to his bed. He saw that Kurt was hiding under all the sheets and slowly sat down next to his son.
Kurt just stayed like that and mumbled something from under the covers.
“Can you repeat that for me, please? I didn’t catch a thing!” Burt said and smiled a little to himself.
Kurt then pulled the pillow and the blanket away and answered to his dad.
“Ugh. My head hurts from all the crying yesterday. Please make it go away, dad!” He pleaded at his father, who just smiled even wider.
“Can’t do that, sorry.” Burt answered. “But I can get you a glas of water and some Aspirin, ok?” He offered.
Kurt only nodded. “Yeah, that would be lovely. Thanks.”
Burt got downstairs, got the water and the pills he promised his son. On his way back up he decided that he would call Kurt in sick at school, so that he could recover from all the pain he was going through.
When he got back to Kurt he saw that his son was now sitting in his bed but still under the covers. Kurt reached out for the water and the medicine and took two pills at once.
“Whoa. Slow down there kiddo. One would have been enough for now.!” Burt said and watched his son with wide eyes.
“Ummmmm, sorry. I guess!” Kurt responded. “I just want the pain to go away. All of it. I mean I need to get ready for school. There is not much time left. And I still need to do my facial!” Kurt told his dad and began to panic.
“Nope. None of that!” Burt said and Kurt looked confused at him.
“What? What do you mean? None of that? I need to do my facial. I was so tired from all the crying last night that I skipped a few parts. Can you believe that? I skipped a part of my routine. My skin will look terrible!” He complained and Burt started to chuckle at that.
“What are you laughing about?” Kurt asked and pouted.
“Stop that look, mister. You have all the time in the world to do that!” Burt said.
“What do you mean?” Kurt asked even more confused.
“Ok, let me explain. I called your school and called you in sick. So you can stay home today. Do you facial routine - or whatever this is called what you are doing to your face - and you can recover from yesterday. I know that you are still upset about everything. And I guess you need that timeout, right?” He asked.
“Ummmm, o… ok. Thanks. I guess!” Kurt answered slowly. He wasn’t sure if his dad was serious right now. “I… I mean, you really did that? For me?” He asked once more.
“Yeah. Yes, I did that. When I was downstairs I called up your school. I could even stay home if you want me to?” Burt asked with a hopeful hint in his voice. I just don’t want you to be for yourself all the time.
“Yeah, sure. I would love that, dad. Thank you so much!” Kurt said and hugged his father tightly. “You really are the best dad in the world.” He added.
Together they made themselves breakfast and they enjoyed their day off together.
Kurt made Burt watch ‘Moulin Rouge’ with him and his father didn’t even complain once. Actually his eyes were a little wet too after the movie was over. But Burt would never admit that to his son, who knew anyways.
When ‘Come What May’ was playing Kurt lost himself in his thoughts. He imagined his own wedding dance to this song. He always has loved that song and really was imagine this one for his own wedding. But there was no girl by his side. It was a little blurry at the beginning but around the middle of the song the image got clearer in his head. He nearly fell off the couch when he realized that Blaine was dancing with him. And Blaine looked happy. They were both smiling from ear to ear when their hands touched. Kurt looked closely at his ‘dream’ self and saw that he was smiling too. He even felt happy. He lost himself in Blaine's eyes and leaned forward. Blaine did the same and both of them moved in closer until their lips touched and lingered on one another.
With horror in his eyes he realized what was happening in that moment he started to cry once again. Not loud, just to himself. How can I kiss someone when I don’t even like guys in that kinda way. What is wrong with me? How is that even possible. What is going on? He thought to himself. He couldn’t get his head around the dream.
Right in that moment the doorbell went off …
