Chapter 11
After Gym, Blaine reluctantly parted ways with Kurt and headed off to his next class. As he walked down the hall that brought him to the classroom he almost stopped and turned back around as he spotted Santana at her locker. She had already seen him though, so he quickened his pace not daring to look her in the eye.
“Coward.” Santana let out as he walked past her.
Blaine could feel the tears threatening to form and he quickly hurried into the classroom taking a seat at the very back. He didn’t know why he was getting so god damn emotional about the situation. He set his books down, as his phone began vibrating. He pulled it out from his pocket and all of his sadness from before quickly disappeared as he saw Kurt’s name pop up onto his screen.
I miss you already xx –Kurt.
Blaine smiled widely, quickly tapping out a reply.
Miss you too beautiful <3 – Blaine.
How about you sleep over tonight? I just remembered that we have our Chemistry assignment due tomorrow… and I’d love to spend more time with you :) – Kurt
Blaine practically screamed with giddiness. He felt like a teenage girl. The simple thought of Kurt actually wanting to spend time with him shouldn’t have come as a surprise but to Blaine it was the best words he could have said to him.
Definitely. I’ll just have to stop by my house to pick up some stuff and I’ll come by at 4:30. –Blaine
Sounds good. Can’t wait. ;) xx –Kurt
<3 - Blaine
ooooooooooooooooooo
The day couldn’t have gone by slower. Blaine had met with Kurt briefly during lunch, before having to head back to class to prepare a presentation. Without Kurt around everything seemed to drag on slower and Blaine was relieved as the last bell sounded. He jumped out of his seat and rushed to his car wanting to get to Kurt’s as soon as possible.
Luckily Santana hadn’t caused too much trouble, Blaine had only ran into her twice throughout the day where he got enough dirty looks to last a lifetime. He wished it didn’t have to be like that but he decided to let Santana talk to him when she was ready. He still wasn’t sure whether or not she still thought that he had cheated on her and he thought it best to let her cool down before attempting to talk to her.
Blaine pulled into his driveway at about 4pm giving him a solid 15 minutes to gather his things before heading off to Kurt’s.
“Hey Mom!” He greeted his mom as he walked into the house, stepping into the small living room where she was laid out on the couch watching a rerun of Friends.
“Hi sweetheart! How was your day?” Mrs. Anderson got up and hugged her son lightly.
“Good. How come your not at work?” Blaine was surprised. The hospital kept his mom busy and she usually didn’t get back before 7 on weeknights. He couldn’t help but think that it had something to do with his dad. It always did.
“Oh well your dad had promised to take me out to a couples massage last night but I haven’t seen him since he left to meet up with a few of his co-workers. I’ve called his phone a couple times but he didn’t reply.” Blaine could hear the disappoint in her voice.
“But don’t feel bad for me. I had just as much a wonderful time relaxing and watching TV as I would have getting a massage. Its much cheaper too.” His mother laughed shakily before heading into the kitchen followed by Blaine.
“So what would you like for supper?” His mother began rummaging through the cupboards.
“Oh-” Blaine felt bad leaving his mom, but the thought of a whole night alone with Kurt was too tempting to turn it down. “ -well I was actually hoping that you’d let me go over to a friends house tonight. We have a huge project to work on and we probably won’t finish till really late tonight so I was thinking I could just sleep over.”
“Now this friend wouldn’t be a certain girl would it?” His mother asked with a raised eyebrow.
Blaine laughed. “No, it’s a guy, his names Kurt and he’s new this year. He’s really nice.” And hot, and funny and wonderful Blaine thought. But of course he didn’t say that out loud.
“Okay well of course you can sweetheart.” His mother smiled sweetly with an underlying hint of sadness in her voice. She was not looking forward to spending the night alone.
“Thanks Mom.” Blaine smiled widely before bouncing up the stairs to his room. He came back down in a matter of minutes with a small black duffel bag filled with clothes.
“Okay Mom, I’m leaving.” He poked his head into the kitchen where his mom was reading a magazine.
“You haven’t heard from your father, have you?” She asked looking up from the magazine.
“No, sorry Mom.” Blaine replied, frowning. He had an idea of what his father was doing but no idea where he was. He hated the pain that he caused his mother.
“Oh okay.” His mother didn’t try to shield the sadness in her voice this time.
“Mom I can stay in if you want tonight.” Blaine walked into the kitchen hesitantly.
“No, no sweetheart. Go have fun. I’ll be fine. Have a great night and work hard!” His mother was suddenly back to her perky character and shoving Blaine out of the door, placing a quick peck onto his cheek before shutting the door.
