A few flurries of snow trickled off Kurt's shoulder as he ducked into The Lima Bean from the cold, rustling outdoors. He glanced around trying to see which line was shorter. Both of the lines looked pretty equal to him, however, the one on the left had a cute boy serving the coffee. Needless to say, Kurt chose that line.

Time went by as slow as it possibly could, and Kurt found himself checking his watch every few seconds to see exactly how late he was going to be for work. He didn't think it was possible for humans, or anyone for that matter, to take so long to order a drink. Medium drip, mocha, latte. None of those were hard words to master. When Kurt finally got the counter, he was ready to order. A boy who looked to be about the same age was in the line next to him. All the boy had said was the word 'Hello' but Kurt could all ready see him for the bright, and shiny person he was.

"Hi, can I have a Grande Nonfat Mocha?"

"Yes I would love a medium drip, and a..."

"Also could I have a..."

"Cranberry Muffin." Blaine and Kurt looked at each other simultaneously, just as they had said it.

"Nice choice." Kurt chuckled as he glanced at the boy. Suddenly Kurt didn't even see the coffee boy anymore. All he saw were the luxurious dark brown curls resting atop the boys head. Glasses nestled upon his button nose making his golden hazel eyes even more captivating. There was something about the slight scruffiness of his chin that made him irresistibly suave.

"We only have one more cranberry muffin gentlemen."

Both boys looked at the server as if he had the answer to their problem. After a moment of silence, Kurt decided he had to say something to avoid the 'incredibly-awkward' zone.

"You take it."

"No, no, you have it. I will get something else, like the blueberry muffin instead." The boy rebutted.

"If you think I am going to let you have a lousy blueberry muffin, think again." Kurt had a tender, naive tone to his voice, he almost always did when he was flirting.

"I'm Kurt, by the way."

"Blaine."

When their hands met it was as if everything was working in their favor. There was a connection that was made completely and utterly by chance. And it felt like nothing but chance could break that connection. Blaine released Kurt's sweaty palm. Kurt was always uncomfortable about that, but when he looked at Blaine, he could see he didn't mind it.

"You know what? Why don't we split it?" Blaine would definitely be the one with all the good ideas in this relationship.

Kurt looked sheepish, "Are you sure?"

"Positive. We can sit, talk, get to know each other."

"Deal."

The two shared a kind smile. One worthy of going on a Christmas card.

"So how do you take it?"

Kurt smirked, he liked his sense of humor, "Lightly toasted."
