Author's Notes: This was never planned, but it happened and it sort of fits in now with what I'm going to do with it later. Ignore the fact that I've completely disregarded the happenings in City of Ashes, even though it's supposed to be set in that time frame. If I had the same things happening, Isabelle wouldn't be there to tell Kurt to go take advantage of Blaine lol.

Kurt had locked Blaine in his bedroom, worried he might try to do something completely stupid. Isabelle had knocked on Kurt's door to find out what had happened. He told her everything and she seemed to find the entire situation terribly amusing.

"He drank a truth potion?" Isabelle said, then broke into fits of laughter, her dark eyes closing, her mouth opening.

"Isabelle, it is not funny," Kurt hissed, because it really was not funny at all.

"It's hilarious and you need to relax a little bit," Isabelle waved a hand. "Besides, this is a great time to find out of he feels the same way."

"Wh—what?"

Isabelle rolled her eyes, a small smile on her lips. She pushed back a strand of jet black hair behind her ear and leaned forward.

"I know you like him, Kurt."

Kurt's eyes widened. He didn't like Blaine. Sure, he thought he was kind of good looking and he looked good in a pair of tightly fitted jeans, but beyond that, no, he did not like Blaine. At least not in the way Isabelle was implying.

"What?" Kurt spluttered. "I don't like Blaine! I spend most of my time hating Blaine because he does really stupid things before thinking of the consequences!"

Isabelle, however, looked less than convinced.

"You do like him. Maybe you don't even know that you do, but you do."

"You don't even know me. I've been here for a little over 24 hours and we've spoken maybe twice," Kurt shook his head. "You can't make assumptions about me when you don't even know me."

Isabelle didn't back down, however. She crossed her long legs, clad in fish net tights and thigh high leather boots.

"I know that you're gay," she shrugged a glittering shoulder. "And you didn't have to tell me that."

Kurt blushed, which was something he tended to do whenever his sexuality came into conversation, which was not very often. Being a gay Shadowhunter wasn't exactly something you broadcasted on the 6 o 'clock news. It was frowned upon. Kurt had never met or even heard of another gay Shadowhunter until he had met Blaine.

"You don't know that," he said, weakly.

"Yes," Isabelle told him. "I do. I was the one who told Blaine that he was gay, remember? I have excellent gaydar."

"Do you," Kurt rolled his blue eyes.

"Yes, I do."

"Gaydar rune, I suppose," he smirked.

"Very funny," she fake smiled. Kurt decided that he liked Isabelle, even if she was a total bitch sometimes. "But, no, I just—well, I just know, that's all."

Kurt saw something in her eyes, but he didn't know what it was and he thought better of asking.

"Anyway, gay or not, I don't like Blaine, not in the way you think I do," he declared.

"Yeah and I'm the greatest cook in the world," Isabelle grinned.

Before he and Blaine had gone to Magnus', they had met the rest of the Lightwoods at dinner. Isabelle had made some sort of pie and Kurt had almost gagged on taking a bite. Kurt's dad was a terrible cook, but Isabelle Lightwood was borderline dangerous.

"I'm just sayin'," she stood up. "He's under that truth spell and if I were you, I would be up there trying to find out if he didn't like me as much as I don't like him, if you catch my drift."

She winked and Kurt just stared at her.

"By which I mean I would go up there and see if he likes you, too. And," she said, opening the door. "My best bet is that he does. Good luck!"

And with that she was gone. Kurt sat still on the bed for another few minutes, just thinking. He didn't like Blaine. Not like that. Sure, he liked him well enough, but he didn't want to be with him like that. The thought hadn't even crossed his mind. He had never thought about holding his hand, or kissing him, or—

Oh. Okay. Maybe he had. Briefly. Or not so briefly sometimes. Thinking something about someone didn't necessarily mean anything, though. When he had fought his first ever demon, Kurt had thought about letting it go, when he saw it writhing in pain. Obviously, that would never happen and he knew better now, but thinking something didn't mean he would ever do it, or even want to do it.

Except maybe he sort of did want to kiss Blaine.

Isabelle was right, too. He should take advantage of the truth potion to find out how Blaine felt, too. He thought about it, but then wondered what would happen if Blaine didn't feel anything for him. He probably wouldn't be able to face him ever again.

He wouldn't do it.

"Kurt, hi!" Blaine said, when Kurt walked through his bedroom door, moments later.

He'd given in and come round. Just to check on Blaine, he'd told himself. Blaine was sitting at the edge of his bed, doing nothing, a small smile on his face. Kurt felt his heart contracting at the sight and oh, had that happened before?

"Blue is totally your colour," Blaine was saying, now, gesturing at Kurt's shirt. "It matches your eyes. Have I told you how awesome your eyes are?"

"Only a couple hundred times," Kurt joked, sitting down near Blaine on the bed.

"One time, I was in botany class and I ate a doritaenopsis orchid and it turned out I was horribly allergic and I passed out and didn't wake up for four days and when I finally came to, I was covered in these little bumps, like, every where and I had to drink this awful stuff and stay home for like, two weeks. I went online every day and watched mundie shows. Have you ever done that? They rock. Don't tell my dad I said that."

Kurt gave Blaine a look of amusement, chuckling a little at the random outburst.

"Are you scared of being gay?"

Kurt's expression darkened, because things were getting far too serious, now and he didn't want Blaine to tell him anything he wouldn't tell him if he were in his right mind. Kurt stood up.

"I'm gonna go, I'll see you tomorr—"

"No, don't go!"

Kurt stopped still, because Blaine had reached out and grabbed his hand. He looked down at Blaine's hand in his own, then slowly, sat back down. Blaine didn't let go. Kurt's heart was racing far too quickly and this was awkward, yet somehow, he wanted this, wanted it more than almost anything else.

"I'm scared of being gay," Blaine told him, staring off into the distance, at the white walls surrounding them. "I think about how I have no future as a Shadowhunter if the Clave ever find out. I don't want them to know, because if I'm banished, then what do I do with my life?" Kurt said nothing, just allowed him to go on. "Then I think about how they will expect me to marry some day, probably soon, knowing my father and I think about how miserable my life is going to be, being with someone I'm not even attracted to. I think about all of that sometimes. Don't you?"

He looked up at Kurt questioningly, then, his honey coloured eyes wide. Kurt nodded.

"All the time," he admitted. "It's all I ever think about."

"At least your dad knows," Blaine said, sadly. "Mine would send me straight to the Silent City to join the Brotherhood, or something. I don't think I can pull off the no eyes thing."

Kurt laughed, a little, because Blaine was trying to bring humour to the conversation, even in his state. His humorous side was coming through and even though Kurt spent most of his time telling Blaine he wasn't funny, he found it sort of endearing whenever Blaine tried to crack a joke.

"I'm serious," Blaine smiled, hand still in Kurt's.

"Yeah, I don't think you could pull off the no eyes thing, either," he told him. "I like your eyes."

His heart beat sped up when he said that. he figured Blaine wouldn't remember, so he had nothing to lose, but that didn't stop him from shaking a little. Blaine's hand simply tightened around his.

"I like your eyes, too," Blaine said, his eyes level with Kurt's. "Sometimes I just look into them, because they've got all these colours and it makes me think about how many sides there are to you. You're this serious, sensible guy, but you're also witty and smart and you've got all this information inside your head and sometimes, I think about how childish and immature I must sound around you. I don't know any really interesting things like you do. I can tell how much you want to embrace who you are, entirely, but you can't and we have that in common. And then the more I look at you and the more I get to know you, I see that, despite the fact that you're so smart and so in tune with everything round you and so much better than I am, I see that we've got a lot in common."

"Do we?" Kurt breathed.

"Yes," Blaine smiled that infectious smile of his.

"I'm not better than you," Kurt apprised him, truthfully, but Blaine just shook his head.

"Yes, you are," he uttered. "You're tall and pretty and you're an amazing Shadowhunter and you know so many things and I just sit around pretending I know what I'm doing, that I'm afraid of nothing, when, actually, I'm terrified."

"Of what?"

"Everything."

"Me, too."

Blaine looked up at Kurt again, his eyes studying him carefully.

"You've got the most amazing eyes, Kurt."

Kurt smiled again.

"Thank you," he said, not wanting to tell Blaine he'd said that at least a dozen times that day alone.

"I also wish you wouldn't wear those jeans," Blaine's eyes dropped for a moment, then went back up to meet Kurt's again.

Kurt blushed, heat spreading up into his cheeks.

"Why?" he managed to croak, heart hammering against his rib cage.

"Because they make me want to do things I shouldn't want to do."

Kurt thought about standing up and running away, but he was stuck to the spot, unable to move. He inhaled for a long time, then exhaled before speaking.

"What sort of things?" he found himself asking.

He really wanted to know, but at the same time, he couldn't help thinking about how things were going to be tomorrow, when the potion was completely out of Blaine's system and how awkward it might be once that happened. However, Kurt forced himself to stay, because the want to know more was overpowering the want to go back to his room, alone.

"Things I've never done," Blaine said, in an almost whisper, his eyes darker now, his hand warm in Kurt's. "Things that I would get expelled from the Clave for. The gayest things, ever."

Kurt smiled a little at that, but he was finding it hard to concentrate on thinking rationally, what with Blaine's lips so close to his own.

"I've never been with a guy before," Blaine went on, his eyes lie burning cinders, locked with Kurt's serene blue gaze. "Have you?"

Kurt shook his head. No.

"I want to be, though," Blaine told him. "And since the first time I saw you, I've wanted to do this."

Kurt gasped as Blaine's mouth closed down over his. A million things danced in his mind, most of them telling him this was so, so wrong, but he ignored them, because it felt so, so right and then he was under, couldn't bring himself to think any more. Blaine's tongue slipped through his teeth and fell into a rhythm with his own tongue. Kurt closed his eyes and allowed himself to slip away, to stop trying to control everything for once and just let things happen. He felt Blaine smile against his lips as he pushed Kurt gently backwards, his body pressing against his. Kurt groaned a little into Blaine's mouth when he felt Blaine's hands on his chest. He reached up and entwined his arms around Blaine's neck, because it felt like the most natural thing to do.

Blaine tasted like sugar and vanilla and lemon juice, all sweet and bitter at the same time. Kurt's fingers slipped into Blaine's hair, his curls escaping from the awful gel that confined it most of the time. Blaine was murmuring into Kurt's mouth and his hands were sliding beneath his shirt and oh, by the Angel, this was really happening. Kurt yelped a little when Blaine's cool finger touched the line of skin which was now out in the air, since Blaine had pushed his shirt up. Kurt felt himself stir as Blaine's fingers tickled the skin above the waistband of his jeans. Blaine pulled his mouth off of Kurt's and shifted his body so that his knees were on either side of one of Kurt's thighs and he pressed his mouth back over Kurt's again. He could feel Blaine's heart beating against his chest, sending small vibrations all through, him making him dizzy and breathless and wanting more. It was only when Kurt felt Blaine against his thigh that he pushed him away gently, because this wasn't supposed to happen, not while Blaine wasn't in his right mind. Sure, it was a truth potion and it made him say and do whatever he wanted and felt at the time, but Kurt wasn't going to take advantage of him like that.

"What—what's wrong?" Blaine asked, breathing laboured, his eyes filled with worry.

"Nothing, nothing," Kurt muttered, sitting up and sliding his shirt back down. "I just—we can't, Blaine. Not while you're under that spell. We just—can't."

He shook his head and scooted over until his legs were swinging over the edge of the bed. His head was still spinning a little and his mouth felt bruised from the force Blaine had kissed him with. He felt dizzy, a little drunk from everything that had just happened.

"I want you."

Kurt looked up at Blaine, who was now sitting beside him. He smiled, sadly, because this potion was probably messing with his emotions, making him think things he would never think were he not under the influence.

"Okay," Kurt said, patting Blaine on the back. "I'll see you in the morning, okay? get some sleep."

Kurt stood up and Blaine was looking up at him, his eyes filled with—with hurt. Kurt brushed it off, putting it down to the stupid potion.

"Good night, Blaine," he said.

"Good night."

Kurt turned away and walked towards the door.

"Hey, Kurt," he heard from behind him. He turned around and looked at Blaine, waiting for him to continue speaking. "I can still taste your kiss."

Kurt smiled, then, almost instinctively. He could still taste Blaine kiss, too.

"Oh, yeah?"

"Yeah," Blaine said, grinning now, from ear to ear. "You taste like magic."

Kurt rolled his eyes, ignoring the pang of his heart against his chest.

"Good night, Blaine."

"Sweet dreams," Blaine called after him and he closed the door, locked it and went back to his room, his mind racing, realising that, yes, that had really happened.

Kurt fell into bed, mind consumed with Blaine, Blaine, Blaine and he fell asleep smiling, the taste of Blaine's candy sweet kisses still on his lips.
