Author's Notes: Author's Chapter Notes: Hey guys, so this is part one to Ava's birthday!!
Blaine Anderson loved children. Of course he did. How could he not? He had a beautiful daughter of his own after all; so he was basically forced to love children for a good portion of his life. But right now, he really wished for a moment that he didn’t have a child, because if he didn’t have a child, then 20 other children wouldn’t be running around his apartment right now, screaming at the top of their tiny lungs.

“I told you we could have held it at mine” Kurt hummed as he dodged three running children who appeared to now be aeroplanes. Blaine huffed out and nodded, moving into the kitchen to take the chicken nuggets out of the oven.

“I know, but your apartment is so beautiful and with this lot, something would have been smashed… OH MOTHER FU...” Kurt slammed a hand over Blaine’s mouth as the man let out a harsh cry, his finger burning.

“Shit… finger slipped” he breathed, kicking the oven closed as he stalked over to the sink to cool down his burn, Kurt watching him with soft eyes.

“You know honey… these kids seem perfectly happy running around and playing. You could sit down for a moment” Kurt smiled and Blaine looked at his boyfriend with a small frown.

“And what would they eat?” he mused and Kurt nodded his head over to the table that was filled with all kinds of food for the kids. Blaine had been up since 5 am cooking.

“I…. I guess I could sit down” Blaine sighed and set down the plate of chicken nuggets that Kurt had harvested for him during their small talk, giving the young man a smile.

“You’re perfect you know that?” he beamed and Kurt nodded with a smile.

“I’m very aware. It says so on about… 50 fan sites so” he grinned and leant forward to kiss Blaine softly when someone tugged on his jeans.

“Kurt…could you come and play hide and seek with us?” Ava beamed up at the man and Kurt nodded happily.

“Sure thing sweetheart” he hummed and quickly pecked Blaine’s lips before he hurried off with Ava, the girl babbling away about the best hiding spots for them. Blaine smiled at the pair and was about to become completely lost in his perfect Kurt was with his daughter when Rachel shoved him out the way to get to the small sausage rolls.

“Have you told him yet?” she asked as he filled her plate, Blaine giving her a confused look as he stole a sausage roll from her fingers.

“Told him what?” he mused as Cooper came and stood next to him, still wearing the ridiculous party hat Ava had handed him the moment he’d arrived.

“That you’re hopelessly in love with him” They both smiled and Blaine blushed furiously, looking at his shoes
.
“I… I’m not… I haven’t…”

“Oh come on Blaine’s, don’t even try to deny it. I’ve seen the serious heart eyes you have going on every time Kurt’s in the room” Cooper grinned and nudged Blaine a few times, the man shoving him away.

“So what? Yeah sure… I… I love Kurt. But it hasn’t even been a whole month yet and… I don’t want to scare him away.” Blaine sighed and Rachel rolled her eyes.

“Blaine. The man is a rising superstar. He gets followed where ever he goes. He has hundreds of invites to parties and dates with hot men” Rachel smiled and Blaine frowned at her.

“Okay… since when did this turn into a hate on Blaine thing?” he asked and Rachel sighed.

“The point is Blaine… he chooses to be here with you and Ava. Look at him. He’s playing hide and seek wearing a weird ass party hat.

“Hey!”

“Cooper shut it. He’s wearing a weird ass party hat, hiding under a coffee table with you daughter, probably getting cramps when he could be out living it up with people his own age. Blaine… if there was ever a time to tell Kurt you love him… it would be now. Because he’s staying around for a long time, and he deserves to know his efforts aren’t wasted on you” Rachel smiled and popped a chicken nugget into her mouth, nodding to herself as Blaine admiring his boyfriend.

“Yeah…. Yeah you’re right” he breathed and sighed happily.

“Okay, so enough of the love fest. Can we please talk about my parenting rights?” Santana huffed from her place on the stool, wine glass in her hand. Blaine looked over at her and sighed.

“Right… you’re still here” he huffed and the woman gave him the finger.

“Yes I am. Now I want to talk about Ava coming and living with me and Britt…”

“For one weekend every month until school holidays, then she can have half the break with you and the other with me” Blaine nodded and Santana shook her head.

“No. That was the old agreement. I’ve already been looking up schools…” Santana began and Blaine turned to face her.

“Santana we’ve been over this. Ava lives with me. Full time. That’s how you wanted it…”

“Not anymore. Blaine I want my daughter back” Santana sighed and Rachel filled her plate more before she took Coopers hand.

“Come on” she breathed, Brittany following after them, leaving Santana and Blaine alone in the kitchen. Santana stood up and faced Blaine with a look of pure determination on her face.

“I want Ava to come and live with me and Britt. She needs her mother…”

“No. She needs me. Santana you left us…. You left us four years ago and now you have to deal with that” Blaine said simply and the woman shook her head.

“No. No that’s not how it’s going to go. I made a mistake. But Ava is my daughter too Blaine, I have just as much right to have her as you do…”

“No you don’t! You gave up those rights when you walked out on us! You left Santana! You left us! That’s not Ava’s fault. She’s happy here with me… she needs me” Blaine breathed and Santana stepped forward.

“How can you be like this? How can even say that when /you/ know full well what happened at the start” Santana cried and Kurt returned, taking off his hat and setting it down.

“Guys…. You’re a little loud” he breathed and Santana held up her hand.

“Not now Lady Face”

“Santana! Ava is staying with me! She’s staying with me because you left us and I had to raise her alone! She’s staying with me because her life is here. I am NOT having a 6 year old leave her father just because her mother’s now feeling guilty for dumping her on her ass at the first chance she got!” He snapped and Santana looked at him with a furious expression. She bit her lip for a moment before she glared at him.

“You didn’t even want her in the first place. Who begged me to get rid of her?” she snapped and Kurt looked stunned.

“You Blaine! You didn’t even want her! Don’t pretend like you do now!” Santana cried before she grabbed her bag and stormed out of the apartment. Blaine stared after her and felt his stomach drop. Kurt looked at his boyfriend as Rachel made sure the kids were happily playing.

“Blaine…. What does she mean?” Kurt asked gently and Blaine sat down shakily on a stool, running his hands through his hair as his stomach dropped.

“I…. I wanted…. I wanted Santana to get an… abortion” Blaine breathed.

*********

“Blaine I can’t…. I… you don’t understand. You don’t feel what I do” Santana sighed as she sat on a swing, kicking her legs out as Blaine paced around the sand.

“Santana we can’t raise a baby… god we’re in high school… we…. We can’t. It’s not fair on it” Blaine sighed and looked up at his best friend with tear filled eyes.

“I… I don’t want a baby. I don’t… I can’t have a baby” he breathed and sat on the swing beside the girl. She looked at him with sad eyes and nodded.

“It’s going to be hard I know… but we can do this. Blaine I can’t … I can’t get an abortion…”

“Then adopt. Put them up for adoption” Blaine swallowed and kicked the sand.

“I don’t want a baby Santana. I want a life. I don’t care how you do it…. But I… I don’t want that… that thing to be in my life. Ever” he snapped and stood up as Santana glared at him.

“You can’t want that…”

“Well I do! I do want that okay? I don’t want to have a fucking baby! I don’t want it!” Blaine screamed and Santana stood up.

“Then don’t bother being in my life!”

*****

Blaine sighed as Kurt stroked his back.

“I was just scared… I…. I didn’t know how to react or… how to deal with it” Blaine sighed and wiped his eyes.

“But when I went to an appointment with Santana and we heart the heartbeat… I just… I thought maybe it would be okay. And… Our parents agreed that… when the baby was born… if we needed… they would take custody” Blaine sighed.

“We’d just be…. The aunt and uncle or brother and sister…. They wouldn’t have to know. And then Santana had her and…. I held Ava in my arms for the first time and she looked at me with those huge eyes and I just… I knew then that this was my life. This little crying bundle was mine.” Blaine smiled as Kurt rubbed his arm gently.

“And I vowed to love and care for her forever… I was going to make up for the fact that I never wanted her… and I hate myself every day for that” Blaine sighed and looked over at his daughter.

“She’s perfect Kurt. She’s my whole life and I can’t let Santana take her away. I can’t. Not… not after how I was. I need her and she needs me” Blaine nodded and looked at Kurt.

“my family is… a mess” He chuckled and Kurt nodded.

“Yeah, kinda” he chuckled and kissed Blaine’s cheek.

“But I love you anyway” he breathed and Blaine swallowed, looking at Kurt with large eyes.

“I… I love you too” he nodded and Kurt giggled, kissing him gently and sweetly.

“Good. Now. Lets stop all this moping okay? You will keep Ava, I know it. But right now its time for cake” Kurt beamed and Ava looked over at that word.

“CAKE!”
