Chapter two.
The last couple of weeks have been a huge adjustment. Needless to say he's struggling. It hit him like a ton of bricks. This is home. Blaine is his home. And he's gotten so comfortable around him. It's gotten to the pint where they've had tickle fights. Tickle. Fights.
And if that's a bad thing: what is good?
Blaine's been so good to Kurt.
There are so many things Kurt could do to thank him for everything he's done. And on such short notice. But Kurt has decided on a simple thing.
When Blaine went off to work early that morning, Kurt went out to the super market. He bought strawberries, chocolate, shortening, flour, eggs, and red food coloring. Other necessities, he was sure, Blaine already owned.
When he arrived back at the apartment, he used his key to get inside and get to work. He first preheated the oven to three hundred seventy five degrees and separated the dry ingredients and the wet before combining them.
He then chopped up the fresh strawberries and threw half of them in. He made it a little pinker by adding the slightest drop of red food coloring paste.
After the batter was ready, he cut out two circles of parchment paper according to the size of the pans bottoms. Then he greased them with Pam baking spray and put the circles in the bottom of each pan before pouring the batter evenly into the two pans and sticking them in the oven.
While they were cooking he double boiled the dark chocolate with the shorting. Then added the other half of the strawberries. Once it was melted he covered it and put it to the side to become thick and more like a ganache. He then made a simple sugar buttercream with the rest if the strawberries.
Once the cakes were done, he removed them from the pan and peaked the parchment paper off. Then let them cool.
Once they were cool, he leveled them and placed one on a plate. He got started by spreading the buttercream on the top of the first layer, and applying the second. Then he frosted the top and sides. After that, he melted the ganache and poured it over top, adding a few more chopped strawberries.
He placed his beautiful cake in the fridge to let it cool. Then he cleaned up and did the dishes. The kitchen looked lively, as did the rest of the house. He just knew that Blaine would be amazed.
But all that baking made him very tired. He didn't feel like walking all the way to his room, so he simply plopped on the couch. He was off to sleep within minutes.
*****When Blaine entered the apartment, he was immediately hit with an amazing aroma of strawberries and chocolate. He breathed it in as he walked. All the lights were out.
"Ku-!" He called before seeing a sleeping boy on the couch. Blaine mentally kicked himself as he watched Kurt wake up.
"I'm sorry. I had no clue you were there. Or sleeping." Blaine apologized.
"It's okay. I should get up now anyways," Kurt said, stretching his asleep limbs.
"Why does it smell so good in here?" Blaine wondered.
"Oh, you can't know until you e eaten your dinner. Which is going to be like... Taco Bell or something cause I'm tired." Kurt stated.
"Or the suspense can kill me first." Blaine joked.
"Too bad." Kurt said as he turned the lights on.
"Taco bell doesn't deliver."
"Oh..."
Blaine smiled as Kurt hurried to the kitchen. He watched him rummage through the freezer and pull out two frozen Chinese dinners. He looked to Blaine, who nodded.
"How was work?" Kurt asked, as they ate at the kitchen island.
"Fantabulous..." Blaine replied.
"That's good." Kurt said.
"You okay?" Blaine asked with concern. Kurt's face softened
"Yeah." He muttered.
"Okay."
They ate in silence. And once they were both done, Kurt gathered their trays and threw them in the garbage. Blaine watched him. He didn't realize where he was staring until it began swaying back and forth in a walking motion. His eyes widened as they did so. Kurt was walking over to the cabinet to get two plates, then two forks, then to the fridge. But Blaine's eyes never left his ass. For some reason, that turned Blaine on.
"I made this for you..." Kurt said, snapping Blaine out of it. He looked up to a beautiful looking cake. It was amazing.
"What? Really? Kurt, that's so sweet! But why?"
"To say, 'thankyou'... I guess. You're the only one who was there for me..."
Blaine smiled and got up, taking the cake out if Kurt hands, placing it on the counter. He pulled Kurt in a tight embrace. Arms around his waist. Blaine felt Kurt throw his own arms around his neck.
"I wants to eats it!" Blaine exclaimed. Kurt laughed and sat down with him.
Blaine smiled as he watched Kurt eat his piece. There was something very attractive about it. And that freaked Blaine out.
*****
The next few days went by like a breeze on a windy day. Kurt found himself wanting to dress nicer for Blaine. He wanted to impress Blaine. He wanted Blaine. And this hit him just last night when they were finishing the remainder of the cake Kurt had made a few nights before. Blaine insisted on feeding it to him. And as he did, he saw a look in Blaine's eye that was really really lustful. All while playing footsies under the table. At one point, Blaine's foot rubbed a bit too high up Kurt's calve. Is it wrong to want him to do that again?
That night he had a dream. Those lips were on his. That toned body was flush against his own. Strong hands roaming. Hip to hip- Kurt woke up very wet. And full of sweat. Hey, that rhymed.
But it was a fantasy.
*****
Blaine thought about the feelings he has towards Kurt. He doesn't just want him. He wants everything with him. He wants to kiss him. Cuddle him. Feel him. And other things. He wants Kurt writhing beneath him. Screaming on top of him. He wants to give him everything. To make him feel good. It's been over a month and Kurt's already Blaine's best friend. But he doesn't want to be Kurt's friend. Because he's in love with him. And he knows that it's bad. So wrong. They're cousins. Kurt's still in high school and Blaine graduated collage. But it's seems so right.
But he'll never have him.
