It all started when Kurt ran face first into Elliot at the coffee shop.

He was late to meet Rachel, they were supposed to meet there and study for an exam the next day. Kurt practically sprinted down the street and through the doors to the coffee shop where he ran into Elliot, causing Elliot to accidentally spill his coffee down Kurt's shirt.

"Oh my god!" The other boy exclaimed. "Are you okay?"

Kurt just nodded, walking backwards slightly as he blushed the colour of red bus. Kurt's eyes darted around the coffee shop until they landed on Rachel, who was staring at them both with wide eyes.

"I'm so sorry! Can I help you clean up or-" Kurt quickly shook his head, words completely escaping him as per usual. "I have a spare shirt that you can change into?" Another shake of Kurt's head. "Please let me do something? Or I'm gonna end up feeling guilty all night."

Kurt nodded shyly after a few moments, allowing himself to be led somewhere in the shop that he'd never been by Elliot. He didn't really care where they were going either, the only thing that Kurt could focus on was the fact that Elliot's hand was in his and — yeah, he probably looked like a crazy person.

Elliot turned away from Kurt for a few moments, rummaging through a bag before presenting a fresh shirt to Kurt.

"You can change in there," Elliot said, pointing towards a bathroom door that Kurt had never seen in his life. "I'm really sorry about the whole..coffee thing." He said, biting his lip as Kurt took the shirt with shaky hands and made his way into the bathroom.

He returned a few moments later wearing Elliot's slightly over-sized shirt and holding his own soiled shirt in his hands.

"I'll wash this and bring it to you tomorrow, it's the least I can do." Elliot said, taking Kurt's shirt out of his hands as the other teen looked at him confusedly.

"You- you know who I am?" Kurt asked quietly, playing with his hands even though they were half covered by the sleeves of Elliot's shirt.

"Of course I do, we have English together." Elliot smiled.

"Oh. Um...thank you...for the shirt." Kurt said nervously.

"You're welcome, Kurt." Elliot said, emphasising Kurt's name as if to prove a point, before grabbing his bag and leading Kurt back to the familiar part of the coffee shop.

Kurt immediately ran over to Rachel, who looked like she was about to explode.

"Oh my god, I am so embarrassed." Kurt said, sitting down next to Rachel and covering his face with his hands.

"I knew that coming here all the time would finally pay off!"

"How is this 'paying off!?'" Kurt exclaimed quietly.

"You're wearing his shirt, aren't you?"

"I know we were supposed to study but I kind of just wanna go home now..." Kurt said, completely ignoring what Rachel previously said. "Raincheck?"

"Sure." Rachel smiled.

As Kurt was walking home, he looked down at the shirt he was wearing. It was probably the least fashionable thing he'd ever worn — it was a plain baby blue button up that he hadn't even bothered to tuck into his jeans — but knowing it was Elliot's, he smiled.

When he got home, he went into the kitchen where he knew for a fact Blaine and Wes would be.

"You weren't wearing that shirt this morning." Blaine observed with a raised eyebrow.

"It's Elliot's..." Kurt said awkwardly.

"I'm not sure I wanna know this story..."

"He spilled coffee down me! I don't know what direction your mind was going in!" Kurt exclaimed, extremely grossed out.

"Awww," Wes chimed in. "He spilled coffee down you and let you borrow his shirt, that's so cute!"

"Since when did you become a thirteen year old girl?" Blaine questioned assusingly.

"I wasn't cute, it was embarrassing." Kurt groaned, hiding his face in his hands.

"What happened?" Blaine asked, trying not to laugh.

"I ran into the coffee shop because I was late to meet Rachel and I ran straight into him and his coffee went down my shirt. He offered to help me clean up and said I could borrow his shirt but I just stood there shaking my head and blushing like a crazy person until he told me he'd feel guilty if I didn't let him help me so I gave in and took his shirt. Then he said that he'd take my shirt home to wash it and give it to me tomorrow and then, because I'm an idiot, I asked him if he knew who I was even though he made it pretty clear that he did."

"Wait, you actually spoke to him?" Blaine asked incredulously.

"Twice." Kurt confirmed.

"But you...what?"

"I was barely whispering but...I don't know. He kind of made me feel comfortable even though I was mentally freaking out."

"You really like him don't you?" Blaine asked, even though he knew the answer.

Kurt just groaned a little and hid his face back in his arms.

The next day while Kurt was at his locker, he was approached by Elliot who handed him his shirt.

"Freshly washed and ironed." Elliot smiled as Kurt took the shirt and put it into his bag.

"Thank you...um..." Kurt said quietly, going through his bag and pulling out Elliot's shirt. "I washed it too but it probably got crumpled in my bag."

"It's fine," Elliot said with a little laugh that made Kurt's heart flutter. "Thanks."

Kurt just smiled and continuted pulling his books out of his locker, confused when he closed the door and saw that Elliot was still there.

"Come on," Elliot said, recieving a strange look from Kurt. "We have English...I thought we could walk together?"

"Oh...okay." Kurt replied shyly, walking side-by-side with Elliot to English.

Much to Kurt's surprise, Elliot changed seats in class and sat next to him. They didn't speak at all, but it wasn't as uncomfortable as you'd expect.
