Kurt sighed softly as he stopped at the gates of Westerville's Dalton Academy For Boys. He stared at the large school for a minute or two before finally pressing the gas and letting his Navigator drive onto the school grounds. He looked around as he drove, heading towards the visitor parking lot, a little nervous truth be told.
He wasn't completely sure why he was here... maybe he just wanted to get away for a while... see what life might be like somewhere else... somewhere away from Lima... away from Karofsky and the other bullies of his school... Away from the people he wanted so hard to think of as friends despite how cruel some of them could be sometimes.
Kurt sat in his car for what felt like an eternity, staring at the unfamiliar building and imagining what it might be like inside... what it might be like to go to school here instead of McKinley high. He wondered if there really were a lot of gay's here at this school or if it was just a stupid ridiculous rumor. Would he be able to fit into a place like this if he even had the money to go to school here?
He shook his head after a moment as he drummed up the courage to do what he came here to do. He reached out for the door handle, opening it as he stepped out. He'd tried to dress as similar to the school uniform here at Dalton as possible but it really wasn't all that close. He shrugged, however, fixing his coat and smoothing out the fabric before he locked the Navigator and headed towards the school.
He put his hand on the door handle for a moment, taking a shaking breath before pulling it open and slipping inside. He blinked at what he saw. The place was gorgeous... it looked so sophisticated... nothing even remotely close to McKinley. He smiled a bit as he began to walk through the halls, students slipping past him, paying him no mind as they chatted and headed towards their classes.
Kurt began to walk quietly through the halls, exploring as discreetly as humanly possible before he started to spot students rushing in the same direction. He blinked but curiously began to follow them, hoping he didn't get himself into trouble, as he followed the students down a flight of stairs.
"E... Excuse me?!" he called out to one of the students, trying to get his attention before he blushed a bit, he was so going to get found out if he wasn't careful, "I... umm... I'm new here... I don't really know where I'm going or anything. W... What's going on?" he asked as he looked the other student over a bit.
The other student was slightly shorter then Kurt but stockier... He wasn't scrawny like Kurt was... he was gorgeous truth be told with dark brown hair, slicked to look very prim and proper. He had beautiful brown eyes and a gentle kind smile as he regarded the skinnier boy.
"Welcome to Dalton," the boy said as he held out his hand, "I'm Blaine," he said with a warm smile as Kurt shook his hand, introducing himself as well, "Kurt..." The smaller boy replied before he pulled his hand away and repeated, "so... what's going on exactly?"
"The Warblers," Blaine said, looking at if it was the most obvious thing in the world as he grinned at the other, "Every now and then the Warblers hold an impromptu performance for the school in the senior commons. It kind of shuts everything down for a little while."
Kurt blinked at the others words, tilting his head to the side before he let out, "so... let me get this straight... your Glee club here is... considered... kind of cool?" he asked, a bit shocked. He was so use to Glee being like the anti-cool that this just floored him truth be told.
Blaine smirked at the other and nodded with a chuckle, "Ya... The Warblers are like rock stars here at Dalton. Come on... come and see for yourself. I know a shortcut," he let out as he moved to grab the others hand, stopping, however, when he noticed the hand he'd been going for was bandaged.
The dark haired boy lifted an eyebrow as he glanced to the hand before he moved to grab the other one instead. He looked back up to Kurt and smiled with a nod as he pulled the other in a different direction then the other students were going.
Kurt blinked as the other took his uninjured hand. It was a little bit awkward but he let the other drag him off anyway. He blushed a bit as he followed, smiling as he glanced at the other as they made their way through the school to the senior commons.
Kurt was curious and followed along as the boy moved through hallways and a set of doors, finally slipping into a room filled with boys in the Dalton Uniform. Kurt tensed a bit as Blaine let go of his hand and smiled to him with a nod of his head. Kurt glanced around a bit, a shiver running down his spine.
"I stick out like a sore thumb," he murmured out, gnawing his bottom lip a bit. He so didn't fit in here. All these boys in uniforms, standing there like they belonged there. They all totally looked straight as arrows too. Kurt was just a scrawny fashionable kid with perfect hair and skin and almost anyone who looked at him could tell he was gay right off the bat... especially when they heard his voice. Not to mention he looked lost in this place to begin with.
"Well then don't forget your uniform next time, new kid..." Blaine chuckled softly at him and smiled as he brushed his hand over the others coat before smirking a bit, "Anyway... if you'll excuse me," he said, winking as he turned to walk over towards a group of boys that started to 'sing'. They weren't doing words though... just a nice rhythm with their voices.
Blaine turned once he got to the other boys and began to sing and Kurt's heart leapt in his throat. Blaine was the lead singer? Or at least for this song... he hadn't been expecting that. Damn, the only way this guy could get any better was if he was gay... Kurt blushed at the thought as he listened to the other. He had a beautiful voice and he moved like he owned the place... confident and proud.
He couldn't help but notice they were singing a song by Katy Perry... a girl's song. His smile brightened at this and he couldn't help but wish his school wasn't so prejudice... He wished he could do something like this without having the entire school throw slushies at him or just ignore him or call him names... But McKinley wasn't like Dalton... clearly.
Kurt glanced around the room as the Warblers continued to sing and he couldn't help but feel a flutter in his chest as all the boys watching them with happy faces, dancing along, a few mouthing the words along with Blaine. They liked The Warblers... They really liked to stand here and listen to them and they liked what they heard.
The song finally ended and the other students went up to praise and congratulate their school Glee club and Kurt just watched from where he was standing, clapping his hands for his opponents. God, how he wished he was one of them... he'd wanted to be noticed for his talent for so long... but the kids in his school hated him and hated their Glee club. They couldn't look past their prejudices in order to actually hear the music and see the talent that made up their Glee club.
Blaine finally looked back over to Kurt and smiled brightly as he finally moved towards him, "So... what did you think?" he asked with a bit of a smirk and Kurt smiled brightly and nodded, "You were amazing... I mean... you all were amazing. It's... wow... My old school wasn't like this... the Glee club were I'm from... where I came from..." he corrected, "umm... they weren't treated this well..." he murmured quietly.
Blaine tilted his head and looked him over before two boys slipped up next to them. Most of the other students had filled out by now and the other Warblers were sitting on the rooms couches relaxing and chatting about how well their performance had gone.
Blaine cleared his throat after looking at the other two boys, Kurt turning his attention back to the other boy and the two next to him. His heart fluttered in his chest as he looked at them, suddenly feeling a little bit self-conscious... Had he been found out? It kind of seemed like it. He blushed a bit at the thought, hoping he was wrong.
"So... you... don't actually go to Dalton do you, Kurt?" Blaine asked and Kurt's heart skipped a beat, his face going even redder as he bit his bottom lip for a moment before sighing and shaking his head, "N... no..." he murmured quietly. He knew he stuck out way too much. He totally didn't fit in here.
One of the other boy's smirked a bit and nodded, "We didn't think so... Come on... why don't we buy you a coffee," he said as he motioned for the other to follow, the third boy smiling a bit to him and motioning the brunette ahead of him as the three boys led Kurt to a small comfortable dinning area.
Kurt sat down across from Blaine and the dark skinned boy who'd invited him to come with them for coffee. Kurt gnawed his lip a bit and tried not to meet their eyes. Truth be told he was nervous. He was so use to getting beaten or taunted when he did something other people didn't like that it was what he expected whenever he did something wrong... this time was no exception.
Kurt tensed a bit when the other boy came back, a nervous look on his face as the boy slipped four coffee's onto the table and smiled warmly as Blaine took two, slipping one over towards Kurt, "Latte?" he said calmly as he looked Kurt over. He could clearly tell the other boy was nervous...
"This is Wes and David..." Blaine introduced, "Guys... this is Kurt..." he said calmly and the boys gave him a polite nod before Blaine pipped up, "you go to McKinley don't you?" he said calmly and Kurt's face paled a bit as he nodded and murmured a quiet, "How'd you know?"
"I went to several regional competitions last year to scope out the other teams. I'm pretty good with faces... you're with the New Directions. Our competition for sectionals this year," Wes chuckled softly as he spoke.
"It's really civilized of you to invite me for coffee before you beat the crap out of me for spying..." he pipped up, still a little nervous though somehow not as much as he thought he might be. These guys didn't seem so bad. Though he expected them to be at least a little bit angry that he'd snuck into their school to watch them perform.
"We are not going to beat you up, Kurt," Wes let out and David chuckled softly at the other boy. Kurt blushed a little and smiled weakly, looking down at his coffee before taking a sip. He wouldn't meet their eyes just yet, still a little unnerved at being caught and everything. Of course... it wasn't like he was trying to outright spy on them or anything.
"You're such a terrible spy we kind of found it a little bit endearing," David said calmly, smiling warmly to the other, trying to make him feel a little more comfortable around them. All three boys could tell the McKinley boy was nervous... It was written all over his face really.
"So, I thought maybe spying on us... wasn't actually the reason you came to Dalton..." Blaine piped up after a moment and Kurt finally looked up to meet the others chestnut eyes. Blaine looked back into the other boys blue eyes and smiled warmly, trying to reassure him.
"Uhh... umm..." Kurt let out quietly, feeling kind of stupid right about now, especially with what he wanted to ask. He finally sighed and nodded a little bit, "I... Can I ask you guys a question?" he asked finally, looking a little more uncomfortable again as he looked the three of them over before finally letting out in a soft voice, "are... are you guys all gay?" he asked, feeling stupid the moment the words left his lips.
The three boys chuckled softly at him and Kurt blushed deeply, looking away from them, embarrassed. Now he just felt stupid and kind of wanted to curl up inside himself and die. God... how could he have even thought something so stupid... curse Santana and her big freaken mouth. He should have totally just blocked her all out... her and Puck both. He should never have come here.
"N... No... I mean... I am..." Blaine pipped up suddenly, watching Kurt and smiling warmly to the other, "but, uhh... these two have girlfriends..." Blaine watched Kurt and could tell that he was very insecure at the moment and he kind of felt bad for laughing... but it had been just too cute. He knew the rumors that went around about all boys schools and stuff but he never really met anyone who might actually believe them.
"This is not a gay school, Kurt..." David said calmly, "We just have a zero tolerance harassment policy here. The staff here doesn't put up with any kind of violence or verbal abuse," he said calmly with a nod to the other, trying to make him feel a little more comfortable again seeing as the boy looked like he might bolt or something at any moment if they said the wrong thing.
"Everyone here gets treated the same... No matter who or what they are... It's as simple as that... It's a place that people can come to learn without the worries of being treated like an outcast," Wes explained to the other, giving him a nod. He, like the other two, could clearly see there was something going on with the other but Wes wasn't really sure what they could do.
Kurt stared at the three of them, listening to their words and feeling everything just suddenly rush to the surface again. Why... why did they have to have such a perfect school so close to Lima... a school where he could learn at a higher level... and be treated like a human being instead of trash. He knew that even if he wanted to... this school would always be out of his reach. His dad didn't have that kind of money to begin with. Besides... it was two hours away from Lima. His dad would never allow it.
Blaine blinked as he watched the other boy, spotting tears welling up in his eyes and he frowned, concerned. He looked to the others quickly, giving them a nod before he spoke calmly, "would you guys excuse us?" he asked, Wes and David giving a nod. They knew that Blaine could handle this better then either of them could so they stood up and said their goodbyes quickly before heading out, leaving the other two males alone to talk.
Kurt wouldn't meet Blaine's eyes again, a couple of tears slipping down his cheeks as he tried to calm himself down. One hand slipped to the other arm after a moment as he pressed into the tender bruised flesh again, a momentary wince flicking onto his face before he took a deep breath, letting the pain ground him and calm his nerves.
"I'm taking it your having some issues at school?" Blaine let out, frowning a bit as he watched the other, "Bullies?" he murmured, already knowing full well that the other boy was gay. It wasn't like Kurt hid it or anything... or could for that matter. But the boy had style... that was for sure.
"I'm the... I'm the only person out of the closet at McKinley..." Kurt finally let out, his voice quivering, "I... I try to be strong... try not to let the comments and the shoving and the slushies get to me... but... there's this... Neanderthal that's made it his life's mission to make my life miserable... and no one seems to notice... or care..." he murmured quietly before brushing the back of his hand over his cheeks, feeling weak and stupid for crying in front of a stranger.
"I know how you feel," Blaine said finally, sighing as he looked away from the other, staring off at nothing in particular, "I got tormented at my old school too... It really got to me after a while... I was angry all the time... I kept from doing anything stupid though and instead I told the faculty, figuring they'd do something about it... They were sympathetic and all... but... you could just tell that they didn't really 'get it'... they didn't really care."
Kurt frowned a bit at the others words, feeling a pang of sympathy for the other for a moment, kind of feeling bad for dredging up bad memories for the other boy. He could see that the past still bothered him even though he'd clearly moved on and found a better life for himself... or at least from the looks of it.
"They were like... hey... you know... If you're gay, you're just going to have to get use to it cause you're life's going to be miserable... Sorry... really nothing we can do," Blaine finished with a sigh, shrugging a bit, "So... I left that school... put it behind me and I came here... And that's about all there is to it."
"So, as I see it... you have three options... one... you could let the taunting and the bullying continue... two... you could come and enroll here, though of course, I know that's not really an option for everyone seeing as the tuition is pretty steep at Dalton... even though we'd love to have you here... And your third option would be... not to put up with it... to stop letting them push you around and stick up for yourself. Refuse to be the victim..." Blaine said quietly as he watched the other.
"It's not that easy... I'm not exactly the kind of guy that puts fear into the hearts of bullies everywhere," Kurt murmured, sighing. He really didn't have the confidence he use to. The bullying was shattering his perfectly made shields. He couldn't handle any of it anymore... every cruel word, every disgusted look... every shove and every slushy. They all made him want to crawl into a hole and die sometimes...
"Hey... Prejudice is just ignorance, Kurt... Alright? People fear what they don't understand. It's always been like that..." Blaine said, trying to comfort the other, "But you have the chance right now to teach him... show him that you're just like anyone else... unique like everyone else..."
"How exactly am I supposed to teach him this?" Kurt asked as he looked at the other, fingers back to pressing against the bruises on the opposite arm, the urge to press his fingers against his hand instead getting strong but he knew that would be too obvious. Blaine knew his hand was injured already... He'd seen it...
"Confront him... call him out... show him that you're not afraid of him and that you wont put up with it anymore..." Blaine said as he smiled weakly at the other, "I ran away... I ran and to this day I regret it, Kurt... I let them chase me away because I wouldn't stand up for myself. Kurt, I don't want to see that happen to you... I know you've got a hell of a lot of courage in there... there's not that many people who'd actually sneak into a private school, try to blend in, and still be willing to go to coffee with the students who found them out."
Kurt smiled weakly and chuckled back, "I really am a bad spy aren't I?" he let out with a sigh and Blaine chuckled back and grinned a bit, "Y... ya you are..." he said before both of them started laughing again. Kurt seemed to have calm down and had finally let his arm go, the pain disappearing as he continued to talk with the other boy.
Kurt had never met anyone like Blaine before. He was gay but you wouldn't know it just looking at him. He was a nice guy, he liked sports, he had the most amazing voice... And somehow he had confidence in Kurt that Kurt didn't have in himself... and the two of them had only just met.
"I should probably get going... It's past two thirty already and it'll take me two hours to get back to Lima," Kurt pointed out finally, sighing. He didn't really wanna go. He liked talking with Blaine. They had a whole lot in common. Kurt knew he was getting a bit of a crush on the other boy but he tried to push the thoughts away. Blaine lived two hours away... and they'd only just met today.
Blaine smiled and nodded to the other as he held out his hand to help the other out of his chair as he said calmly, "I'll show you to the front exit so you don't get yourself lost. Dalton's a decently big school," he explained and Kurt chuckled softly and nodded to the other.
"I know... I did a bit of exploring before I ran into you..." Kurt let out as Blaine led him out of the school, escorting him all the way to his navigator. Kurt blushed a bit and smiled to the other, "you didn't have to bring me all the way here you know," he said and Blaine just shrugged.
"I wanted to... besides, I like spending time with you... Maybe we can go out for coffee sometime," Blaine said with a nod to the other and Kurt smiled brightly, giving a nod back, "I'd really like that... Here... I'll give you my number. You can call me when you're interested," he said, giving Blaine his number, Blaine doing the same for him.
Blaine smiled afterwards and Kurt smiled back, giving a bit of a shy wave to the other as he slipped into his car, "Bye... say thank you and bye from me to Wes and David alright?" he let out and Blaine nodded, "will do... you take care of yourself Kurt... and remember... Courage."
Kurt nodded to the other, repeating the word as he started the car and headed off, "courage..." he repeated a second time as he drove out of the school gates and off towards Lima. He gnawed his bottom lip a bit, blushing as he drove, glancing just for a moment to the picture Blaine had given him before he left. He was surprised the other had given him one of his school photos but he was glad of it. He never wanted to forget this day... even if Blaine never did call him out for coffee...

Not sure what to say other than MORE!
More Klaine? Or just more story? XD... I'll try to update every few days... at least once a week.
Awww. I like Blaine. I don't know how the other chapters are going, but I hope those two end up together.
Oh of course they'll be together in the end. =) Someone's gotta knock some sense into Kurt and then pick up the broken pieces. =^-^=
Yay! Blainey is finally here :D
Yus. =^-^= I really wanted to add on to that scene when I wrote my version. The before and the after and stuff like that. I enjoyed writing it even if it is really close to the actual show.
