“I’m back!” Blaine called out as he pushed through the door, grocery bags precariously balanced in his arms. He kicked the door closed and quickly made his way to the kitchen before the bananas lost their fight with gravity and tumbled to the ground.
“Did you see my text about the crackers?” Kurt called out from the living room, his voice only just audible over the din of the TV.
“Yes, I did. And just in time too, because I’d almost made it to the check out.”
“Oh thank god! I only just got her to shut up about them. I don’t know what I would’ve done if they were out.”
Perishables safely stowed away, Blaine walked up to the back of the sofa and leaned over to place a kiss on Kurt’s cheek.
“Hello, my little darling,” he cooed to the baby happily sucking on his bottle tucked away in his husband’s arms. “Were you good for Papa? I bet you were, you big boy.”
At the sound of her dad’s voice, their daughter turned around and climbed onto the sofa next to her dad. “Hi, Daddy! Can I have crackers?”
“May I have crackers, sweetie,” Blaine gently corrected her as he gave her a kiss on top of her wild curls. “And yes, you may. I’ll grab them in a minute.”
“Yay!” Momentarily placated, Audrey turned her full attention back to the TV, her fathers and little brother completely forgotten.
Jules chose that moment to detach from the bottle with a loud cry, and, seeing that he had finished it all, Blaine took their son from Kurt to burp him. “Has she been like this for long?” Blaine motioned to Audrey, who was now standing up and excitedly pointing to the TV.
“Pretty much, yeah. It’d be annoying if it wasn’t so dang cute,” Kurt said, looking fondly at their daughter, who was now shouting and pointing at the TV.
“Swiper, no swiping!”
