Kurt sat at the kitchen table flicking through a folder of profiles. “Nope, not her. Oh god, definitely not her. Good lord, Blaine, where do they find these people?”

“Come on, Kurt, don’t you think you’re being a bit hasty?” Blaine set down their cups of tea and sat down next to him so he could look over Kurt’s shoulder. “She didn’t sound so bad. Well educated, healthy, great bone structure.”

“She listed Saw as her favorite movie. Saw, Blaine. With the creepy puppet.”

“Yeah okay, fair enough. Moving on.”

Kurt and Blaine continued looking through the profiles of potential surrogates the agency had sent over, rejecting some of them outright and putting others on a pile to be looked at again later. They had been talking about having a child for a while, but the time never felt right. Now, with the wedding behind them and work having slowed down enough for them both to delegate more, they didn’t want to wait any longer. 

“Oh, I like her,” Kurt said as he flipped another file open. “I know we haven’t decided on whose sperm to use yet, but she kind of looks like you, so that could be interesting.”

“Hmm, yeah. Let’s put her on the maybe pile.” Blaine took the file from Kurt to place it on the middle of the three stacks in front of them. 

“No, not that one. Those are the ones we haven’t reviewed yet. The one on the right is the maybe pile, and the left is the rejects.”

Blaine couldn’t help but snort at that. “Gotcha. Right for yes and left for no, right?”

“Oh god, will you ever let me live that down?” Kurt groaned and gave Blaine a sidelong glance. 

“Nope, not a chance.”
