It has been one month since Burt and Carole got the news. Burt had to admit, he was feeling pretty damn good. The one thing he could do without thoug, was the constant trips to the bathroom.
After some careful planning and several well guarded phone conversations with Kurt and Blaine, and Rachel and Finn, all of the kids were coming home for the weekend.
"Carole have you seen my red flannel shirt?" He hollered down the stairs.
"I hung it in the closet." She answered back from the kitchen.
She was excited that the kids were all coming home. Hopefully they would take the news well. In her excitement she had baked cookies, pies, and a cake. There was a vegetable lasagna prepped and ready to bake, along with chicken breasts marinating for the meat eaters.
Kurt knew he was overpacking. He just wanted to make sure he had something for any possible situation.
"Kurt, we are only going for the weekend." Blaine stared at the two suitcases and chuckled. "Is there even any room for my stuff?"
Kurt shrugged. "I want to be prepared. There are comfortable clothes for around the house, nice clothes for going out, and casual clothes for just hanging out. If there isn't enough room, you can use the smaller suitcase that is still in the closet."
Without even bothering to try, Blaine got the smaller suitcase out and packed it ready for the trip.
Rachel had packed all of her and Finn's required clothing. Finn was just greatful that the morning sickness had subsided and stood in the doorway eating an Italian sub with horseradish sauce. "I do not want to hear you complaining later of heartburn, Finn Hudson." Rachel chastised him as she checked everything over.
"This is like awesome. I will be fine. Who is driving the first shift?" Finn took another bite before rushing to answer the doorbell. He smiled and waved Kurt and Blaine in.
"I picked up the rental car. I think we were wise to drive rather than fly. Airplanes are full of germs, and neither of us three needs to get sick." Kurt said as he greeted Finn with a one armed hug, to avoid getting sub on his outfit.
"Kurt, there are germs everywhere." Blaine countered. "The subway, work, restaurants. You can't avoid them."
"No, but I can at least minimize our risks." Kurt glared at his husband. "Besides the drive will be fun."
