Finn and Rachel sat in their living room of their 3 bedroom home. They had hoped to fill the 2 extra bedrooms with a bundle of joy each. If you asked them how they would sapce them apart. Finn would say 4 years. Rachel of course would disagree and say 2. They had been trying the last 3 years, for Rachel to get pregnant. She had agreed to put Broadway on hold once they were successful, and continue to do so until their children where in school. That was before the Meteor, before everything changed.
They had seen the news, read all of the newspapers. Taking on the attitude, 'That happens to other people, it won't happen to us'. The only thing is. It was happening to all men. Gay and straight. Why would Finn be the exception?
Rachel had gotten over the flu in 24 hours. Finn, however, was sick for 2 weeks. He and Rachel had decided that him unable to eat, and sleeping all day, was enough reason to seek medical attention.
It was Friday of the second week. Finn had been sick all day. Rachel had even bought him some broth from the local deli. He had tried many over the counter anti nausea medicines. Nothing worked.
"That is it Finn!" Rachel said, staring at him with her hands on her hips. "I am taking you to the emergency room."
"It is just the flu." Finn insisted. He didn't want to be poked and prodded, and truth be told, he was afraid of needles.
"You will get dressed, and get your ass in the car Finn Hudson, or I will find a way to drag you to it." She was getting irritated, and it was showing in her demeanor.
"Fine! But if they come at me with a damn needle, I will not be responsible for my actions."
That had been 4 hours ago. Sitting on their sofa, Rachel sat in disbelief. Sure they were going to have the baby they had always wanted. She wanted to be the one to experience pregnancy and childbirth. Instead it would be Finn.
"Rach, come on. This will not be easy on either of us." He said quietly. Hunched forward, his face buried in his hands. "You wanted to do this, and I never wanted to."
$achel sighed in exasperation. "I had to compete in high school, for solos, prom queen, and leads in school plays. My career, is nothing but one big competition. The one thing I should not have to compete for, is to have a baby."
