Valentine’s Day. It was almost Valentine’s Day, and Kurt looked as fantastic as always. It was nothing like last year, spent pining over someone else while Kurt pined for him, but it wasn’t much better. As Kurt wrapped his fingers around a fresh coffee, Blaine looked adoringly at his boyfriend’s new red scarf, the scarf Blaine had bought him, and given him early.

Early, because Blaine would be gone for the next three days.

“So,” Kurt broke the comfortable silence, “Stanford.”

Blaine grinned half-heartedly. “Yeah,” he muttered, dropping his head. “Yeah, well, you know how my father is.” He took a long chug from his medium drip, barely tasting the bitter liquid. “But I’d rather get it over with than fight with my father against it.”

Kurt nodded, taking another sip. “I’ll miss you,” he said, after a bit.

Blaine ducked his head again. “Same,” he muttered, rubbing his hands together nervously.

“Blaine,” Kurt whispered, and Blaine hesitated before looking up, meeting blue eyes. “I know you’re doing this for your father, and I’m proud that you’d go through with it, considering you’re history with him.” Blaine nodded, eyes dropping for just a moment. “But don’t think about it. Get through it, and before you know it you’ll be back here with me.”

Blaine gave him a sad smile, and was about to speak when Sebastian walked over, interrupting.

“Hey, aren’t you two familiar faces. How’s it been?” Sebastian went ahead and pulled up a chair, setting his drink on the table.

Kurt rolled his eyes. “It was good, until you sat down.”

Sebastian grinned, “Good, I like bothering you.” Then, he looked over at Blaine. “So, Blaine, how have you been?”

Blaine shot Sebastian a look, before answering, “I’ve been well.” He felt his heart beat faster, but he swallowed down his nerves.

Kurt elbowed Blaine under the table, and Blaine frowned. He understood that Kurt didn’t like Sebastian, but he couldn’t help but be a nice person.

“Well,” Sebastian spoke up, eyeing the couple, “have a great Valentine’s, Kurt.” He turned to Blaine, grinning widely and winking, “Blaine.”

Then he stood and left.

Kurt was fuming, and Blaine was staring at his coffee, blushing furiously.

“I hate that guy,” Kurt mumbled.

“Yeah,” Blaine said, “yeah.”

End Notes: Lo and behold, I click to my account area and suddenly the snow is out and love is in! Fitting, for this chapter.Short chapter, yes, but there is more to come. I promise. I realize I never touched this story, even though I promised I would. I was just caught up in nothingness, so this became neglected. But it's back ;)
