Author's Notes: A/N: Thankyou for reading, my fellow Gleeks. I have to mention, any Darren Criss fans that haven't heard Dress and Tie are missing out. That is one funky song and it's one of my favourites right now. Just thought you should know!Disclaimer: if I owned Glee it wouldn't be as fantastic as it happens to be.
Kurt listened happily, not the Katy’s lovely voice as she belted one of his favourite songs, but to Blaine’s as he sang along quietly.

It had been a little over half an hour and Kurt was desperate to kiss the boy he loved. They rarely go to be alone like this, but he knew how long Blaine had been anticipating this particular movie.

Blaine leaned over slightly. “Undoubtedly MJ is the King of Pop, and in my opinion, Katy takes her place next to him as Queen.” Then he added, “Hey, do you smell something?”

Kurt took a deep breath and nodded his reply, his nose crinkled in revulsion. He looked over his shoulder. “Oh my god, Blaine!”

Blaine snapped his head in the same direction and saw the wild flames climbing their only exit. The two jumped from their seats and ran to the door.

“Help!” Kurt cried.

And I’d like to report that a member of staff or somebody walking past had heard him, but the fire was growing fiercer and therefore louder, not to mention hotter.

Kurt felt his throat close up and Blaine grabbed his hand. They ran back to their seats and crouched close together.

“What do we do?” Kurt asked, truly in a panic now.

Blaine looked from the boy over to the door and back again, wishing with all his heart that he knew the answer. Wishing there was an answer. All that he could think was that they were doomed; they were never going to see their wedding day, their grandchildren. Kurt was not going to get to NYADA, they would never go to the Lima Bean again or perform at show choir competitions or-

“I love you,” he yelled over the noise.

“Don’t say that! Don’t you say goodbye! We’re going to find a way out of here and…”

“Kurt,” Blaine’s eyes, one lit by the flash of the movie screen and the other lit by the fire’s red glow, were full of hurt and desperate for something, anything that might turn back time and get them out of there.

“I love you too,” Kurt replied helplessly, his voice breaking. He pulled the younger boy into his arms as his eyes began to water.

Kurt was never a believer of any kind of god or lord, any higher power (other than Lady Gaga). But he said a silent prayer in his mind that if anyone was out there and they let the two boys get out of this alive, he would worship that being for the rest of his life.

Blaine Anderson was wondering how all this started. He and his love were sitting in an empty cinema, the flames creeping closer toward them. They had jumped back to the second row now and the thick black smoke covered the room, forcing the boys to shield their mouths and noses with their shirt collars.

He supposed it started with Kurt’s transfer to Dalton. His life had been threatened by a lowlife football player at McKinley and he was forced to change schools. From then on Kurt started to fall for him. On Valentine’s Day he brought it up, and Blaine felt like some kind of moron for leading the poor boy on. He liked Kurt; he was talented, good looking, witty, but Blaine had no relationship experience. And to be quite honest, his heart had just been crushed by his first real crush. How ironic. He supposed that was why they called them crushes. Then, eventually, it dawned on him that he did feel the same way about Kurt, and thus started their relationship.

But Blaine wouldn’t give up any of those events for the world. So he decided that it started with his love for Katy Perry.

The first time he had ever heard her was when his older brother Cooper was driving him to a birthday party and ‘I Kissed A Girl’ came over the radio. He loved her voice and every song she released after that made it into his Top 10. And if he wasn’t nursing a platonic crush on her Kurt never would have bought those tickets and they would be safe at home.

Then again, when he thought about it, would he have been singing ‘Teenage Dream’ the day Kurt came spying on his Glee Club if he didn’t have such a soft spot for her? Would Kurt have fallen for him if he hadn’t?
The fire had spread over the entire back wall of the room, and now that the Warbler looked up from his thoughts he saw that it had spread to the wall they were sitting adjacent to. His heart almost stopped. How did he let himself get so distracted?

He looked down to find Kurt resting against his side, sleeping, or maybe passed out from the amount of smoke they were inhaling.

“Kurt!” he yelled, but the boy didn’t move. “Kurt!” He shook the countertenor.

And there was no warning sign before the wall came crashing down.

End Notes: A/N: Don't hate me! Good things come from disaster, don't they? Most of the time? I apologize if it feels a little rushed, but trust me when I tell you it wasn't. But honestly, thankyou for reading.
