I get to the garden and keep my eyes peeled for anyone I know. My smile widens; this has got to be my favourite place in central park, maybe even the whole New York. That's all down to Blaine. I walk to the small bridge, looking down on the small stream to my reflection, thinking of the night when I realised I couldn't spend my life without Blaine.
"They were even paired up – a long line of shoes trailing through the apartment, each with little bite marks on them!" Blaine's laughter fills the air.
"What did Rachel do, when she saw them?" he asked, swinging our joined hands.
"Oh, that was the best part," I chuckle, "I come in and see the shoes, and I follow them to the living room. Springsteen is sitting on the sofa, getting a lecture from Rachel about the importance of other people's belongings."
"I wish I could have seen that," Blaine sighs wistfully, "I think I love Springsteen ever more now, if that was even possible."
We stop on the bridge, and I pull him close to rest my head on his shoulder.
"It's so peaceful here," I comment. Blaine hums in response.
My eyes flick to him, but he's staring into the distance and biting his lip.
"What's wrong?" I turn to face him, "Please tell me you aren't planning on pushing me into this water – once is enough." I go for humour to cover my anxiousness.
Blaine has a serious expression on his face as he exhales, "I love you."
All the emotion is in his eyes, they're glistening. I can only blink in shock, relieved that the trapped words can finally be released.
"I love you, too."
We stare at each other intently; no words need to be spoken. Blaine moves a hand to the side of my face and brings our lips together.
I'm not paying attention to the world around me until a short blonde woman wraps her arms around me and kisses my cheek. I know who it is already.
I turn and hug her, lifting her slightly.
"Well hello there, Miss Yale!" She giggles.
"Honey, it has been too long," we pull away and I notice how Quinn's appearance has changed, though she's still as beautiful as High School.
"I think I know why you're here," I smile as she nods, holding out a red rose and letter.
"It looks like someone is very keen," she comments and I blush.
"You could say that," I grin, "how are you?"
She looks different – better- than I remember. No longer is there any trace of a broken girl, pregnant at 16, head cheerleader and bitch.
"I'm good. Really good, actually," I take her hand.
"I'm glad."
"Look, I have to run. You should read your letter," she gestures to it, "I'll see you soon hon."
She goes onto her tip toes to kiss my cheek then walks away.
I set my bag down on the bridge and open the letter:
I love you. I love you. I love you. I could go on forever with those three words without ever becoming tired, but then where would we end up? The rose, as you probably know, means I love you. I will always love you, Kurt. You are the love of my life, my light in the dark. You are everything and anything and I love you more every day.
I let a few tears role down my face.
The next place is where we ran through on our way to my apartment where we then got it on several times. It seems once you started you didn’t want to stop ... Was I just that good.
I kid, I kid.
I think you know where to go...
I love you always forever and ever Blaine
I fold the note, smiling and set off immediately. I definitely know where to go.
