Blaine growled slightly as he threw his books onto his desk. His day had been horrible. First, he was late for his first class, most likely earning himself a bad reputation with Mrs. Beadle all year. Second, he hadn’t been able to concentrate at all, which didn’t help matters, and he had been reprimanded several times by different teachers. To top it all off, he had a terrible headache, and a Warbler meeting in 20 minutes. He loved the Warblers dearly, but he just wasn’t in the mood for their antics and loudness.
Sighing loudly, he grabbed a bottle of Tylenol, taking out two before grabbing a bottle of water from his mini fridge. After taking them, he walked into the bathroom, splashing his face with water, before grabbing a towel to wipe his face as he scowled slightly as his gelled down curls. He then walked around his room, picking up and organizing things to pass time, humming quietly to himself.
Look at this stuff
Isn't it neat?
Wouldn't you think my collection's complete?
Wouldn't you think I'm the girl
The girl who has everything?
Blaine paused as he heard it. Singing. Someone was singing in the room across the hall, and they had an incredible, countertenor voice. Blaine let out a quiet gasp as he realized his new dorm neighbor was the new kid. Blaine smiled slightly as he realized what the new kid was singing. Apparently, he had really good taste in movies, and Blaine found himself wanting to go introduce himself, but what if he actually was spying? He didn’t want to get too attached, just in case that turned out to be the case.
Look at this trove
Treasures untold
How many wonders can one cavern hold?
Looking around here you think
Sure, she's got everything
I've got gadgets and gizmos a-plenty
I've got whozits and whatzits galore
You want thingamabobs?
I've got twenty!
But who cares?
No big deal
I want more
Blaine continued to listen, awed by the new kids voice. Well, atleast I don’t have to worry about another person screeching horribly in the shower, he thought as he shuddered slightly at the thought of some of the singing he heard over the past few years. He continued to listen as the new kid finished the song. Feeling slightly disappointed as he stopped singing. Glancing at the clock, he realized he was going to be late for the meeting, before cursing. He then sprinted out the door, glancing sadly at a picture of himself and Kurt when they were younger. He would make up his mind about introducing himself or not to the new kid later.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kurt smiled as he fell back onto his bed. His first day had been amazing. Sure, he hadn’t made any friends yet, but at least no one had slushied him, or shoved him into a locker. No one had even said anything insulting to him, in fact no one even seemed to mind the fact that he was gay, and he had seen several other guys whom he was sure were gay as well. It was like a dream. An amazing, amazing dream, and Kurt felt as if he was about to wake up any second to a slushie in the face. There’s only one way to know for sure, Kurt thought as he stared thoughtfully at his arm. He then pinched himself, wincing as pain shot up his arm, fuck ow, bad idea. Definitely not a dream. Smiling widely, he began to giggle happily.
Grabbing his bag, he took out his homework. Normally, teachers at Dalton didn’t give homework on the first day, but since he was new they needed to know what level he was at, and had given him review sheets to complete. Luckily, they weren’t much, and at first glance, didn’t seem to be so hard.
As Kurt scribbled down the answers, he began to sing. It was his favorite song to sing with Blaine when they were younger. He glanced at his wrist sadly. He still wore his friendship promise bracelet as a reminder that he had promised Blaine that he would find him, and he intended to stick to that promise. He just hoped Blaine would remember him when he finally found him.
His homework turned out to be as easy as it had looked, so he found himself finishing within 20 minutes. Suddenly, a loud growling noise filled the room. His stomach was protesting to the fact that he had skipped lunch in order to explore the school more. Grabbing his keys, he walked out the door as he decided to drive to the nearest coffee place, and pick up dinner after.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As Blaine exited his room, he suddenly felt himself slam into something hard before falling to floor. He groaned in pain, before glancing over and realizing he had run into another person. Cursing, he jumped to his feet, offering his hand to the other boy, “Oh my god, I’m sorry! Shit, I’m so sorry. Are you okay?” he said frantically as the boy failed to respond. After a moment the boy began to giggle, and Blaine raised an eyebrow wondering what was so funny.
“I’m fine,“ Kurt said through his giggles. At McKinley most people would have yelled at him, and walked away. This place couldn’t get any more perfect. His butt would probably be bruised for a week, but he was too happy to even care.
After finally getting his giggles under control, Kurt cracked his eyes open to see a hand shoved into his view. He took the hand, which proceeded to pull him up to his feet, before brushing himself off. He then glanced up, meeting the eyes of the boy who he had run into. His breathe caught in his throat, those eyes. Kurt’s eyes jumped up to the strangers hair which was gelled down, before going down to his wrist, where a hint of blue could be seen peeking out from the sleeve of his Blazer, “Oh my god,” he whispered.
Blaine was freaking out internally. The stranger had accepted his hand, and he had pulled him up to his feet. Then the stranger had met his eyes, and he had been staring straight into the blue eyes of his Kurt. He was sure they were Kurts, he would recognize them anywhere. He had seen eyes similar but never Kurt’s shade of blue. Gasping softly, his eyes had traveled down to the boys hand, where the friendship promise bracelet could be seen. This stranger, the new kid, the countertenor, was Kurt. His Kurt, his best friend who had promised he would find him again. He had found him again, he’d kept promise. Suddenly his eyes were prickling with tears, and he found himself pulling the boy into a tight hug, “Kurt,” he breathed out quietly as he felt the Kurt tightening his arms around him.
Kurt pulled back after a moment, but kept his hands on Blaine’s arms, making sure the other boy was still real. He couldn’t believe this was happening, Blaine was here. He had kept his promise, and actually found Blaine. Smiling, he took in the changes to Blaine’s appearance. Blaine was just a few inches shorter than him, he face more angular, with less baby fat. His eyes were still the same amazing shade of hazel that Kurt remembered. Kurts eyes then traveled back up to Blaines hair and he frowned, “What did you do to your hair?” he blurted out before he could stop himself. Eyes widenening he cursed himself, Shit Hummel, you only just got him back and you’re already insulting his hair. Nice going.
“We haven’t seen each other in years, and all you have to say is ‘What did you do to your hair?’” Blaine said, as he burst into laughter. After a few moments, he looked over to Kurt who was looking quite ashamed, before smiling fondly at the boy who hadn’t changed much at all. His hair was still the same color, just styled a bit differently, and his face had lost some of it childishness, but he still had an adorable innocent look to him. Kurt then began mumbling apologies, and Blaine cut him off quickly, “Do you wanna go get coffee, and catch up?”
Kurt nodded, happy that Blaine hadn’t been offended. He then grinned as Blaine grabbed his wrist, dragging him down the hallway. Kurt couldn’t stop his eyes from traveling lower, and blushed as he noticed how nice Blaine’s ass had gotten. Best day ever, he thought as Blaine opened the door to what Kurt assumed was Blaine’s car, and directed him into the passengers seat.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Blaine’s mind was racing as he drove towards the coffee shop. Kurt, holy fucking crap, Kurt is sitting next to me. He couldn’t stop repeating that in his head. It was so unreal. His palms were sweating more and more as they got closer. Apparently, they had both silently agreed on silence until they got there, which both relieved and frightened Blaine. He was relieved that he had time to sort his thoughts, but at the same time he was terrified that Kurt had changed too much. He was terrified that his image of his childhood best friend was about to be shattered. What if they didn’t get along? What if Kurt hated him? So many thoughts, questions and doubts were flooding his mind, he felt as if he was going to explode. He couldn’t take the silence anymore, so he reached over, turning the radio on.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kurt’s thoughts were chaos. Would Blaine hate him? He didn’t seem to have changed much from the Blaine he knew, but it was hard to tell. Would Blaine be different? Would he be like all of the other people in his life? He hoped not. He had missed Blaine terribly over the years, that he had built up an imaginary Blaine in his mind, to console himself. His Blaine was someone who accepted him, and his sexuality. Now, he was facing the real thing, and he had no idea how Blaine was going to react to him. He was terrified, and the fact that he was obviously attracted to Blaine’s appearance didn’t help matters. Suddenly, his thoughts were interrupted by Blaine turning on the radio. Katy Perry started blasted through the speakers. Kurt smiled slightly, At least he still has good taste in music. Kurt’s mouth then dropped as Blaine began to sing along.
You think I’m pretty without any make-up on
You think I’m funny when I tell the punch line wrong
I know you get me, so I let my walls come down, down
Before you met me, I was a wreck…
Oh my god, his voice is like sex, Kurt thought as he listened. SHIT… BLAINE… AND SEX.. OHMYGOD STOP THINKING, Kurt yelled internally as he felt himself reacting to those thoughts. He shifted slightly in his seat, rearranging himself inconspicuously. Blushing furiously, he glanced out the window, hoping Blaine wouldn’t notice anything.
Soon, they were pulling into a quaint looking little coffee shop. Kurt wiped his sweaty palms on his pants, taking a deep breathe as he hopped out of Blaine’s car. As he entered the Coffee shop, he wondered if this Blaine would live up to his expectations, or completely shatter them.
