Author's Notes: This one is quite shorter, but not a filler, I promise!

A big thank you to the ever lovely Fabbs, for helping me with this. :)

If I owned Glee, it'd be on very late at night...

The students sat silent as they wondered why Mr. Anderson had suddenly stopped speaking, and what Santana's loud exclamation of 'Oh my GOD' was all about. The awkward tension was quite thick in the classroom, and so the students began whispering among themselves, throwing the two confused glances every few seconds.

Finally breaking his gaze from Kurt, Mr. Anderson looked towards the students and cleared his throat, silencing them once more.
"Sorry about that guys." He said. "I guess I just lost my train of thought- does that ever happen to you all?" The students gave a light laugh, nodding.
"Well then, as I was saying, I'll be your teacher for this subject until the end of the year, while Miss Meyers is away." He continued smoothly. "Now, enough distractions. Let's start with talking about the essay assignment she left you all on 'To Kill A Mockingbird…'"

Kurt sat in his seat, shocked and confused. Blaine, well, Mr. Anderson apparently, taught English Literature. At McKinley High School.
Kurt's school.
His teacher.
Kurt had had a sort-of coffee date with his teacher.
And a really, really hot make-out session.
Why hadn't Blaine told him? Why the hell had he asked Kurt to have coffee with him if he'd known he was a student?

He didn't know, Kurt told himself.
Actually, now that he thought about it, Kurt didn't know much about Blaine at all. Their late texting session the night before had comprised of flirty banter and jokes about Blaine's misuse of gel.
Ages or occupations hadn't even been mentioned (although Blaine obviously knew Kurt worked at The Lima Bean). Come to think of it, he hadn't even known Blaine's last name.
Well, apparently, Kurt now had to address him with it.

He squirmed in his seat, feeling rather strange. He needed to have a word with Blaine. A proper talk about what had happened. And what was going to happen.
Feeling a surge of courage rush through him, Kurt raised him hand.

"So, we know that Atticus was quite a respected man in the town of Maycomb, although he-" Mr. Anderson stopped as he noticed the lone arm extended in the air.
"Yes Mr…?"
Kurt knew he shouldn't have felt offended that Blaine would pretend not to know him, but it left a slight sting.
"Hummel, sir. Kurt Hummel."
"Oh. Okay. Well, what is it Mr. Hummel?"
"I was just wondering if I'd be able to ask you something about my essay." Kurt said. "I've finished it, but I'm just not sure about the conclusion…"
With wide eyes and brows raised, Blaine stared at Kurt for a few seconds, and then a look of realization swept his features.
"Well…I suppose you could see me after class about it." He replied.

Kurt nodded and leant back in his seat. As he did so, he felt a tap on his shoulder by the girl behind him. A bored expression on her face, she handed him a paper that was folded in two, with his name scrawled across the front. Opening it up, he read:

So, a forbidden romance, huh? Think you'll get an A once you tap that ass? …Without me interrupting this time? ;)

In the past 10 minutes or so that had passed, Kurt had almost forgotten that Santana was aware of he and Blaine's brief make-out session. Fear rushed through him as he imagined the consequences of what would happen if she told Principal Figgins. Or worse, the Glee Club.
It was true that Kurt hadn't known that Blaine was his teacher. But he'd heard of scandals like these, and they never ended pretty.

But Santana wouldn't tell. He was sure of it.
Although one wouldn't expect it of the two, they were friends. Best friends. Sure, Kurt was regularly irritated by Santana's flippant attitude to working, and disapproved whole-heartedly of her casual smoking, but they had gone through quite a lot together in the past which had solidified their friendship ever since.

Shaking his head to clear the bad memories that haunted his and Santana's past, Kurt balled up the note in his fist, eyes skimming over the students at the back of the classroom. Spotting her sitting with one leg crossed over the other, arms slung over the back of her seat, Kurt caught Santana's eye and mouthed, 'Talk later!'

As the bell rang and each student exited the classroom, Kurt tentatively approached Blaine's desk, stomach flipping as the strikingly handsome man looked up at him.
"So," Blaine said, "You wanted to speak to me about your essay?"
Kurt shot him a strange look. Blaine knew why he wanted to see him. Was he actually not going to acknowledge what had happened the other day at The Lima Bean?
"…Th-that was a lie, obviously. My essay is perfect- they always are. I kind of just wanted to talk about…us." Kurt said, biting his lip.
Blaine stared intently at Kurt for a few seconds, then suddenly stood up, moving to stand next to the door.

"I don't know what you're talking about."

Kurt felt his face redden, but attempted to stay collected.
"You do so. Look, I just- just wanted to talk about what's going to happen to us and-" Kurt began, before Blaine cut him off.

"There is no 'us', Mr. Hummel. There never was and there never will be."

Kurt felt anger swamping over him. It was one thing for Blaine to pretend not to know him in front of the other students- that was completely logical. But now…now, Kurt just felt humiliated.

"Stop calling me Mr. Hummel! Blaine- Why did you even agree to seeing me after class? You- you had your tongue down my throat! Kurt spluttered, voice rising, and he cringed at how high-pitched his voice had become. He wasn't sure why he was getting this upset over somebody he'd only known for two- (well, three now) days. That somebody being his teacher, for god's sake.

The brief silence that followed was excruciating. As he glared at him, Kurt could have sworn he saw Blaine's eyes flicker towards his lips.

Blaine cleared his throat, breaking the silence.

"That's enough. I want you to address me as Mr. Anderson. Nothing else. I think…I think you should leave now. Have a good day."
Blaine opened the door, and Kurt nodded curtly, gathered his bag from where he'd left it on his desk at the front and, with his back poised and head held high, walked out the door, not looking back once.

Today, it seemed, had certainly taken a very dramatic turn of events.

End Notes: Hurrah for Kurtana-friendship! What happened between them will be revealed in a later chapter...

For now, Blaine's a bit of an ass. But, doing the right thing, in accordance to US law! [As if that'll last ;P]

Oh hey, also, I have a Tumblr that I share with Fabbs and two other awesome friends.kurtsiesandblainers.tumblr.com

So give us a shout, we're very nice. :DAnyway, this is getting long, so I'll shut up now.
