Chapter 1
Two years have passed since Blaine befriended Kurt. They understood and comforted each other, shared their secrets, talked about everything and nothing in particular and were always there for each other. Almost. Their friendship had some limitations. They never interacted out of their waterfall, only if necessary, and they never met, unless if it was out of the town. It was Blaine who established those rules. He was afraid that people might say the same things that they said to Kurt about him. It was selfish, he knew, but Kurt didn't seem to mind. Besides that, everything was perfect. He really liked Kurt. Like, really really liked him. Kurt was the sweetest person he had ever met. He was kind, gentle, passionate, funny, smart, and beautiful. Absolutely beautiful.
Blaine knew he wasn't supposed to think about a boy in this way, but he did. Kurt was the only person that fully understood him and cared about him. When he was in Kurt's presence everything seemed right and at peace.
Their relationship had grown a lot since the first day. They were much closer, and they touched more. They held hands, laid their heads in each other’s laps, they hugged, and Blaine loved when Kurt fussed with his curls. He also loved to watch Kurt. How the corner of his eyes crinkled when Blaine said something funny, the way he rolled his sparkly blue eyes when he did or said something stupid, his perfectly coiffed chestnut hair, his pink full lips and imagine how it would be good to kiss them. He imagined that a lot. Actually, Kurt occupied a lot of space in his imagination. He would think of them together on their waterfall, kissing on the grass, touching each other in places where nobody has ever touched them.
Thinking about those things worried him. He knew that Kurt and him would never get married because things didn't work like that. A man couldn't be with another man, it was against the rules of nature.
But why his heart didn't agree with that?
Blaine arrived early on the waterfall that day. He decided that that day was going to be the biggest day of his life. He would tell Kurt everything that he felt and hope that Kurt felt the same way too.
He could see Kurt approaching with his horse (thing his father struggled to buy). Deep breath, Blaine thought, this is your only chance.
"Hey Blaine, you're here earlier than me, how weird" Kurt said getting out of the horse and hugging him, as usual. Blaine exhaled Kurt's scent, another thing he adored in Kurt. He smelled like vanilla and cleaness. Is it weird to a person smell clean? Well, Kurt did.
"I-I, uh, well, I mean-"
"Always eloquent" Kurt laughed "Come on, you know you can tell me everything" Kurt told him guiding him to the margins of the pond and sitting down.
"Okay" Blaine sighed "Here we go." He took Kurt's hand on his own and started talking "Kurt, you have always been an amazing friend. You were always there when I needed, saying the exact words that I needed to hear, and I will never do enough to pay you back."
"You already pay me back, you're my friend" Kurt said softly
"Yes, I am your friend, but the thing is... I don't know how to say it..." Blaine laughed breathlessly. This was harder then he thought it would be. He looked right in Kurt's eyes "Kurt, I- I've been thinking about a lot of stuff lately, but, most of all, I've been thinking about you. I've been thinking about us. I've been thinking about how I want us to be together. In a couple-y way. I-I like you, Kurt. I really hope that you like me back. And, if you give me the chance, I hope to make you the happiest guy in this kingdom, in this world. So I ask: do you want to be with me, to be mine?"
Kurt was stilled in silence, eyes locked on Blaine's. Fear was settled in his gut and he was hoping for the worse.
"Yes" Kurt said quietly.
"What?" Blaine let out the breath he was holding.
"Yes, I accept." Kurt smiled fondly.
"Really?" Blaine said smiling like a mad man. He hugged Kurt fiercely and melted in the embrace. Kurt liked him back, that was enough for him to die happy. Now there was only one thing left to do to make this moment more perfect. He dodged just enough to look at Kurt in the eye.
"Can I... Kiss you?" He asked
Kurt frowned his eyebrows in confusion. Crap, it was too much.
"Only if you want to, of course, I didn't mean to speed things like that and-" Blaine was muted by a kiss. It wasn't a big kiss or nothing, just lips touching, but it was simple and perfect anyway, the representation of the feeling that they shared. They had their entire lifes to have passionate kisses, but right now, they had each other. That was the only thing that mattered.
Comments
That was awesome. Blaine was so cute when he was trying to tell Kurt how he felt and it was awesome that Kurt decided to make the next move and kiss him. I can't wait to see where their relationship goes from here.
Thank you! Their path will be long and full of rocks...
