The days skimmed by as Blaine recovered, Sebastian was mentioned only twice in passing, and soon, they had forgotten the incident as best they could.
It was nearing March and the weather was looking up finally, after weeks of rain.
They were still in bed, blissfully tangled in the warm sheets.
'Mmm' Kurt hummed as Blaine trailed his fingers through his hair.
'Blaine.' Kurt opened his eyes. 'We're going somewhere this evening.'
Blaine murmured a sleepy yes, and continued his light touches.
-------
Kurt reminded him again at lunchtime, and in the afternoon.
'Yes, yes, ok!' Blaine said.
'Ok, ok great.' Kurt smiled hurriedly.
Something was up, but Blaine couldn't quite place it. He decided, if Kurt was still this worked up about..whatever tomorrow, he would ask.
---------
When evening arrived and the sun was finally beginning to set, Kurt grabbed Blaine's hand.
'Let's go.' His eyes were twinkling and he looked simply radiant.
Blaine allowed himself to be tugged along to the car, his hand perfectly slotted in with Kurt's.
They drove. And drove some more. It wasn't a long journey, and they soon came to a stop.
Kurt looked at him, and, was it Blaine's imagination or were Kurt's hands shaking?
'Close your eyes.' He whispered. It hit him, like a bolt of lightning. The evening. The journey. Close your eyes.
He let himself be helped out of the car, and breathed in the scent of the outdoors.
'Oh.' He murmured, and he felt Kurt sigh beside him.
And then finally they were in the same spot as they had been months before, standing beneath the stars, their own world playing out for them.
Blaine was able to place the feeling this time. He had felt something before, unsure of what it was, but now...
It was the feeling that came from standing next to something huge, a mountain or an ocean. Or beneath the sky. The whole universe sprawling above them, moving and changing. All Blaine's tiny, human worries seemed to disappear.
He would've expected to feel insignificant, a tiny smudge in the universe, but it didn't.
Because Kurt was his own universe. And in no way was Blaine a smudge to Kurt.
So they stood peacefully.
'Blaine.' Kurt said, breaking the silence softly. He took Blaine's hands in his own.
'I should make a whole speech now about how you've changed my whole life, and in all honesty, you have. There is a moment, when you say to yourself,
'Oh. There you are. I've been looking for you forever.' When we kissed on New Year, that was it for me. I knew it was you.'
Kurt released his hands, and suddenly Blaine understood. And he wasn't afraid or nervous. This was meant to happen.
So Kurt knelt down, reached into his pocket and,
'Blaine Anderson. Will you marry me?'
Blaine didn't even need to think when he answered.
'Yes. Of course I will, yes.'
As they fell into each others arms, Blaine knew, come rain or shine, their own skies would be clear.
