Kurt took the razor out of his bag and walked into the bathroom that he shared with his stepbrother, Finn. He sat on the floor and tears spilled out of his eyes. He brought the razor blade down to his wrist and cut a long strip across. He hissed in pain but when he saw the blood, it was all worth it. He felt strong. This was what he needed after the first day of school. He cut a few more times, making sure he wasn't cutting too deep everytime. Blood was pouring down his arms and he ripped some toilet paper off the roll and applied pressure to the fresh cuts. It hurt, but he felt so good. He felt kinda proud of his cuts. It made him feel something. Lately, he wasn't feeling anything at all. He felt numb. He put the soiled toilet paper in the trash and put on a bunch of bandaids. He made his way out of the bathroom and bumped into Finn.
"Oh! Sorry, man!!!!" Finn exclaimed as he patted Kurt on the shoulder. Kurt just stared up at him. "Are you ok? You look like you have been crying."
"Im fine, Finn" Kurt lied. He smiled and walked towards his room and locked himself in there. He stared down at the bandaids and ran his fingers across them. He finished up his homework and went to bed really early. He needed the sleep. The next day was gonna be hell.
"Suck it, Glee-otch!" One of the hockey players said as he shoved a cherry slushie right into Kurt's face.
"Fuck" Kurt hissed as the cold slushie hit him in the face. He felt like he just got bitch slapped by an iceberg. He ran to the bathroom and washed his face with warm water. He changed into his spare clothes that he kept stashed away on his locker and he went off to glee.
"Hey, Kurt" Rachel said as she pulled him down into the seat next to her. "We are doing a competition. Boys against girls! Where were you? You missed the first 20 minutes of glee!!"
"Sorry, I just was in the bathroom cleaning up" Kurt said as he lowered his head. He felt ashamed. He felt like he deserved this torture because he was gay. There was nothing he could do about it. He wasn't gonna deny who he was but he wasn't gonna go around flaunting it in people's faces. They would harrass him even more than they already do.
"Did they slushie you again?" Rachel said as she hopped out of her chair.
"Ya, but im fine Rach. Really. Nothing to worry about" Kurt lied and he shot her a smile.
"Ok but you shouldnt let them push you around like that" She replied.
I deserve it, Kurt thought to himself. Im worthless. Im a piece of trash. I wish people wouldn't lie to me and tell me im worth something. Im not. Im useless.
"Hey Kurt. Come on." Puck yelled "We have to practice for the competition."
"Coming" Kurt yelled back. He grabbed his bag and followed the rest of the boys the another classroom. They discussed some ideas and Kurt showed them some ideas that he had for the costumes.
"Kurt. Why don't you go check out those lame prep school boys at Walton" Puck said as he slouched in his chair. He looked completely bored.
"Its Dalton and sure. It couldn't hurt to see who our competition is for sectionals" Kurt replied.
Later that day, he drove an hour to Westerville.
He made his way down the staircase and he was just following the crowd of boys.
"Excuse me?" Kurt said
"Hi!" A cute guy said as he turned around and shot a big smile to Kurt.
"Im Kurt" He said as he held a hand out.
"Blaine" The other boy said as he shook his hand. He showed him around and they even went out to get some coffee.
"Can I ask you a question?" Kurt asked as he looked down at his coffee cup.
"Sure" Blaine replied as he shot the other boy a big smile.
"Is everyone here gay?" Kurt asked
