I sat up, feeling funny and fuzzy inside. I looked around the room trying to focus on things but the room was too shaky. I moved to sit up and realized I was no longer in pain, I looked to my shoulder and saw nothing but a small outline of the bite that was there before.
"Are you awake for real this time?" Chandlers voice came from a corner of the hut. I sat up noticing how clean I was with a new pair of pants on, I assumed the wolf bite on my leg was just a scar now as well.
"What do you mean?" I asked stretching.
"You have been up and down for the last two day. Rose said it was your body reacting to the cure." he handed me a blood bag.
"What exactly was the cure?" I asked snapping off the cap sucking down on the bag.
"Some blood from an original vampire. Its hard to come by you know, but Rose's best friend is good friends with the original who's blood we took's girl friend. Wow that sound even more complicated out loud."
"Wait you said I was out for two days, that would make today Friday..."
"Bingo, good too know we didn’t lose all of you back there." he said he tossed me a shirt. "Need a ride back to Lima?"
"No, cars are too slow. Thank you, so much Chandler. I owe big time." I said standing up feeling strange still but full of energy.
"Oh Kurt, you know the only reason I saved you because I love having you owe me one." he said sarcastically laughing then he gave me a hug. "I'll see you soon."
I nodded walking to the door then turning, "Thank Rose for me would you." He nodded.
I ran through the woods past streets over lakes I was in west Virginia in the hour and didn’t stop until I got to Westerville running to the apartment first.
No one was home, but there was a banner over the kitchen bar that read Happy 18th Birthday Blaine. I felt like shit what was I thinking running off to find Sebastian. I needed to be here with Rachel and Blaine. I should have died two days ago. I am going to get Blaine and we are going to run, he doesn't need to be this close to death. and when I get a hold of Rachel she will come too.
I ran to Dalton, lunch must have just ended because there were a few students running into the buildng checking their watches. The halls were for the most part empty and I snuck up to the dorm rooms and walked into Blaine's room. It was empty, but someone put a gift on his bed. I heard the piano playing down the hall in the senior commons and followed the sound and smiled as I saw the back of Blaine's head. He stopped suddenly and turned around.
"Kurt?" He jumped up and ran to me wrapping his arms around me squeezing me.
"Happy Birthday Blaine," I breathed in his ear. He looked up and kissed me, I tasted the passion behind his kiss. He pressed himself against me and deepen the kiss, I wrapped my arms around his shoulders and pulled away slowly.
"Where have you been?" he asked looking up at me with those wide golden orbs of hope.
"In a hut somewhere in Virginia teetering at he brink of death." I said honestly. He shot his eyebrows up.
"You're kidding right. Tell me you are kidding." he said.
"I'll explained it later, get your things we are running away from here."
He took a breath of relief, "Okay, stay here." he kissed me again, "I Love you."
"I love you."I kissed him again, "Go hurry," I closed my eyes and heard him walk down the hall.
"I've been waiting for you."
"Sebastian." It felt as though I had been submerged in ice, 441 years running from him and there he was. I closed my eyes hoping he would kill me quickly but he didn’t do anything.
"You told me he was dead," Sebastian said. I turned around slowly and saw 4 werewolves in their human form and a girl that I swear I've seen before but I could think of where or when.
"He was, Paul bit him, so did Ezra,"
"He looks pretty alive to me, and sane so you can't tell me he lived through the first 24 hours." Sebastian said. the wolf hung his head.
"Or he knows and original," the girl chimed. Sebastian raised his hand to cut her off. She lowered her head and waited for an order like the rest of the people in the room.
"Come on Kurtis, we have a lot of catching up to do." he said to me his eyes boring into mine. I shook my head no.
"If you're going to kill me just make it fast," I said trying to sound mean or angry but it sounded more like I was apologizing. He gave me a strange look then laughed.
"I'm not going to kill you, 400 years just so I can spend ten seconds to stab you." he shook his head. Two more werewolves walked in standing idle until he commanded to do otherwise. Just looking at them made me ache, I hate what they did to me what all werewolves do to us.
"Then what do you want from me?" I asked. "I betrayed your trust; I killed your family."
"Yes, and for that I've been getting even, how about one more body to finish our 400 year war." He turned his head to the door and smiled. "Blaine, were you going somewhere?"
"NO!" I screamed but two wolves already got a hold of me throwing me back, "RUN BLAINE!" I flung a man into the brick wall and three more wolves came to hold me back.
I I looked up and saw that Sebastian already had a hold of Blaine and like that he snapped Blaine's back.
