Author's Notes: This is (so far) the only flashback told in a point of view. Blaine's and as you read it you will see why it is. Warning: Child Abuse Triggers
"Blaine!" My father yell through the house, "you've got 5 seconds to get your scrawny ass in here!"
I ran down the stairs and in to the kitchen as fast as I could stopping as soon as I saw him. He had his back to me staring down at the full trashcan.
"I'm so sorry, I forgot please." I stammered walking towards the can. "I'm sorry."
The back of his hand smacked me across the cheek flinging me into the oven door. "Well maybe I'll forget to feed you." He said. "Take the god damn trash out."
I felt a sharp pain in my side and my stomach getting sticky, "yes sir." I said keeping my eyes low as I pulled the bag out the can.
"Lydia! Lets go." I jumped at the boom in his voice as he left the kitchen. I took the trash out and heard mom, "Blaine isn't coming to dinner tonight?"
"No." Father said in a cold voice stepping into his Benz mom climbing in the passage side. I walked back into house holding back my tears as I lifted my shirt to see what was so painful. Sure enough, there was a gash about two inches long oozing blood down my stomach.
This wasn't the first time I had to stitch my self up. It was however the first time I did it without mom. She could never talk to me after dad hit me but she always checked on me and gave me her sewing kit if I needed it. I walked down the hall to their bedroom and tried to get in, only father locked it. I started to panic; I didn't know what to do now. Everything was in there room and I can't get in it, there is so much blood what if I die. I walk upstairs my stomach bleeding more each step and opened the guest bathroom rejoicing when I saw the alcohol and bandages. Reaching up that high pulled my wound ripping my skin wider. I hissed in pain as I pulled both items down. I walked slowly back to my room with a whole roll of tissue.
I knew I had a sewing needle and thread from the church home ec class I just couldn't for the life of me remember where it was. I checked my bedside drawer then walked to my desk scanning each cubbyhole until I found it. I returned to the floor and took my shirt off.
It looked so gross with the blood dripping and drying around it. I unraveled some tissue to pour alcohol on it. I took a deep breath and pressed the wet cold napkin to my stomach. I screamed in pain quickly removing the rag.
It hurt so bad I couldn't take it. And mom wasn't here to give me medicine for it. I took a moment to regain control before just pouring alcohol over my stomach. My whole side burned and I didn't feel like I'd get any better, in fact I felt so much worse. I wiped away the blood away and tried it thread the needle but I was shaking too much.
I tried for nearly ten minutes before finally getting it. The sewing part was the easiest, it took no longer than 5 minutes to complete. I wiped the wound with alcohol once more before covering it with two bandages. I lied on the floor for a moment crying, no longer about the pain but rather how screwed up my life was. I had to put the bandages and alcohol away. I told my self to move nearly a hundred times before I actually did. I cleaned any evidence of my medical work flushing bloody tissue and throwing my clothes in the dumpster.
I took the phone off the hook and dialed listening intently to each ring. "This is Cooper Anderson, I'm sorry I've missed your phone call if you could leave a detail message and your number id be glad to return you call. Have a great day."
"Cooper..." I said after the beep. "I'm sorry. Can you please come back? I miss you." I waited a moment before hanging up and going to my room to sleep.
